Just FYI... Jonny does play the Ondes Martenot (he owns two of them, I think), but what we see in this video - and in all live videos o Radiohead - is actually a French Connection, an instrument crafted by a company called Analogue Systems (after Jonny's request) which simulates the control interface of real Ondes Martenot, but without the sound generation devices, and thus, smaller and better for traveling.
the old tele /gib...strange choice of guitar for this style of music, notwithstanding the versatility of a humbucker and a single coil. no idea if he's processed or going pure into that ac/30. this band is all over the map yet narrowly focused at the same time.
it'd be nice for comments below songs to be more of a friendly conversation about the lyrics and the music of each song rather than just 'wow' and 'crap holy my!'.. Especially if we're talking about Radiohead and other bands who offer buckets and buckets of food for thought
what the hell? You tube hits on every other jools song, but when I pull a song from this performance, this one doesn't hit. I have to do a specific search for this one. Att: this is the last song from the Hail to the thief jools holland performance.
Great show! Quick question: Did Thom get punched in the eye before the performance? His left eye looks a little purplish, and I don't know if I'm right, but it looks like he may be squinting on purpose so the bruised eye can receive as minimal attention by the camera as possible.
I would love for a woman to be with them. To compliment Yorke's voice. And maybe stir things up a bit. After the last album, good, not, great, as it is.
Its funny to see Colin playing the bass with a pick. "in the basement" he was using fingerstyle. idk what he was using in the studio. great baseline either way.
not the best performance of this song. Listen to the 2003 earl's court version (2nd night). Amazing. So much more pumped and Thom actually sounds great. Search youtube for ronaldvdberg radiohead. Its on his website. My favourite performance by them
probably because pablo honey is far too much punk and classic rock then is necessary/healthy. Ok Computer marks their first good album. After that it just gets better. I consider a very big Radiohead fan but consider the first two albums close to terrible.
@SweetPretendin Personally, i consider Pablo Honey a Radiohead version of "A hard day´s night" by The Beatles, simple lyrics and simple music, but it´s not terrible at all, it´s just their innocent but original first work. And the bends...COME ON! is great, ....street spirit, bullet proof...? non Radiohead albums are bad
theyre the biggest bunch of geeks but make the most mind warping off the planet music known to me. i start thinking weird shit whenever i listen to them. also is thom's guitar actually making any noise

@StefanoUnlimited Because it's such a different sound from their other albums. Not saying that's the right way to judge any band, I'm just saying that's the reason the majority of people give..
he's playing an ondes martenot, which uses a string that is played with a ring that's kind of like a pick. look it up to learn more, it's really interesting
