  • Vale of York went to Dubai after winning the Breeders Cup Juvenile and raced on the tapeta at Meydan in the 2010 Al Bastikiya. Where he was promptly thrashed by his stablemate, Mendip.

  • Anyone else notice that the little silks icon for D'Funnybone was wrong the entire time?

  • @futurejockey8 I do now that you mention it. They had it two different colors.

  • you know who ran a good race also if you watch it....Beetoven....horse was on the rail at the 3/16th pole...and he came 5-6 wide..look at the race again he's the 3 horse with the multi colored helmet....if he had room at the rail he might be the winner here!

  • Still can't believe there wasn't an inquiry put up. If you watch straight shot angle, Vale of York clearly ran into Lucky in the final strides to the wire. Making Gomez hold back a bit and slowing Lucky down.

  • Lookin at lucky the best in this race?

And Precious Passion the best in the bc turf?

and Courageous Cat the best in mile?

    No.

  • @HenryofNavarre: The best horse doesn't always win. Lookin at Lucky drew the 13-hole and was wide throughout -- four wide on the far turn -- while Vale of York had a dream trip on the rail until the closing strides, when he jumped out a couple of lanes to come up between horses. A great run by Vale of York, but if you figure the *actual distance run* by the horses, considering the wide nature of LaL's trip, he probably gave away 2 or 3 lengths on trip alone to a horse that beat him just a nose.

  • @GoldenGaleStables I'm agree but Vale of York run for the first time in America, in a new surface, Lookin at Lucky run in Santa Anita before this race.

  • Looking At Lucky was very wide the entire race and still closed in the stretch. He was the best horse in this race.

  • garret gomez lookin at lucke

  • I wish D'funnybone waited until the remsen or some kind of race on dirt, because that could have been a win if it was on dirt, could have been a very good prep race, but he obviously didn't handle the track. I don't think the distance was a big problem may have been but he looked to be traveling nicely, maybe if he was back into third or fourth, he may have been able to relax. In the future I hope he'll tuck in behind the lead somewhere so he can settle into stride.

  • so this is the first time ive seen this video since the breeders cup. What a amazing run by vale of york. he ran HUGE and looks like he might be able to go longer. All 3 ran huge here no doubt. it will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow in the Cash Call with NP and LL. Probably the most competitive juvenile in the history of the BC.

  • shame, Lookin' At Lucky made a late spurt otherwise i think he could have won

  • Although if you watch Vale of York he had a horrible trip and even got pinched off about 200 yards from the finish and still came on to win, Lucky is a great horse along with D' Funnybone but York def had a very honorable win
