Movie strays completely from the book but I always wondered if the writers of the movie got the idea of the ending, Alice jumping, from the folklore of Jenny Jump State Park here in NJ. That's some of the most beautiful country you'll ever see! Stokes, Jenny Jump, Highpoint etc. We camp there all the time and lore has it that a father and daughter we're surrounded by the Indians and the father yelled "JUMP JENNY JUMP" and she did, to her death! All to be spared Indian capture! BTW LOVE LOTM!

There is just the very slightest pause between notes by the person playing this. It sounds like a person playing a violin who is trying to play a violin...like a person walking who is thinking about each step. It doesn't flow. The player needs to just relax and let it come out.

Great moment in the movie. The younger brother is classic when he taps the shoulder of his father and sets off after the younger sister. It's almost a look of "I gotta go pop".
