We are Deathless Acre from Bristol, England, and we class ourselves as melodic death/viking metal.

Our music is melodic, our vocals low and brutal, although we do use clean gang vocals in some of our songs.

We would definitely list Tyr, Ensiferum, Turisas and Amon Amarth as our influences.

As for Norse themed and Viking being pretty much the same, we agree with that.

Amon Amarth have songs like The Pursuit Of Vikings, so they are sorta Viking Metal. But melodic death too.

Mef1337, the problem is that viking metal is too hard to describe it's too broad and there are too many different bands that are labeled as viking metal... Tyr and Ensiferum are viking (but I think they have a lot of folk, with some progressive/melodic death/power elements), Enslaved is labeled as viking (to me it's definitely black), Borknagar and Vintersorg are labeled as viking. But I don't care about it, I think that people should focus more on music than on the genre's name :D
