  • Can you tell me how to wire up a naomi, i would like to buy one but does it output vga, rgb etc. also does it use jvs2 or normal jamma or something else...?

    Thanks

    Rob

  • @Robobbly It uses VGA, but be carefull, you have to have all DIPs set to OFF for it to work on a PC monitor. You'll need a seperate I/O board too, people tend to go for the JAMMA board, but there's a JVS version aswell.

  • @ultimateshadowx9 Thanks! or i could get the capcom io.... if i won the lottery :D

  • @Robobbly Any popular parts are expensive. A working I/O board for JVS for the Naomi costs about £80 from some places, others it's much higher. I can tell you most of what you need to know if ya PM me, much easier.

  • @ultimateshadowx9 Thanks i already have someone telling me that! Doesnt house of the dead 2 run on one of these machines? Do you think they sell the io for that?

  • @Robobbly HOTD2 is the first Naomi game and uses an ealier revision Naomi board. AFAIK, most cased Naomi's will not play it correctly because of an ealier revision graphics chip. You can boot and run it, but you'd need a first revision Naomi board for full playability. HOTD2 requires 2 I/O boards, the JVS Type 1 and the Gun I/O which plugs into the Analogue and digital ports on the JVS board. Also, you need a special IR gun sensor and 10 screen sensor. I'll PM you the wiring diagram if you need.

  • @ultimateshadowx9 Ok thanks - yes i knew because it has a different boot screen!

I think that they should have used the time crisis style pcb boards, because they have no items on the screen. Also on the screen are not 10 screen sensors there just IR leds that the gun looks at

I think im ok for the wiering diagram at the moment but thanks :D

  • @Robobbly I'd use the official sensor boards any day than hack my own thing, but up to you. And the TimeCrisis I/O Board actually requires you to have a CRT instead of Naomi's where it can use any screen. Even TimeCrisis 4 uses a IR sesnor since CRT is dead. It may not look as pretty, but then you don't have to worry about the monitor type.

  • @ultimateshadowx9 Yer me to! Yes but CRT monitors are cheep so if i was makeing my own i could just use some old crt! And yer im pretty sure that time crisis 4 is backprojected... well atlest the DX cabs!

Yer! Have the ring edge/ring wides been releced yet?

  • @Robobbly I expect a minimum of an LCD for the SD cabs. And CRTs are cheap, but they can't handle what game makers want them to do, i.e. HD

Yes, bu not entirely sure where to get them or what standard they follow

  • @ultimateshadowx9 Probably :D But some SD cabs still use CRT time crisis 3 still does :D Yes, but i dont realy like new arcade games and i would just play them on my 19' vga monitor!

Lol, my dad helped develop HD...(dont know why i just said that.... :D)

    Ok Cool :D

  • @ultimateshadowx9 Hi! I'm really interested in the wiring diagram, would you be so kind send me those documents? Thanks in advance!

  • @AtermicMaN I'll have to do it when I get home, but sure, no prob. If you need help with reading it, let me know

  • @AtermicMaN Whoops, sorry, didn't mean to use that arghpirate account..

  • it looks like white dog shit from the 80's

  • Naomi, the sucessor of Dreamcast

  • @tweetyaja No, it was more the sister of Dreamcast. It was the equivalent arcade board from Sega.

  • Do you live above a gay bar or something? Crazy music.

    Neat Naomi!

  • So did you make the pc case thing?

  • COOL

  • Naomi is such a pretty name.

  • @RkivUnderground say it backwards.

  • @meatloaf666999 lmao

  • Bien echo brico! PD: Soy KilianSEGA

  • this is a dreamcast

  • No, this is a more powerfull dreamcast (a sega arcade machine) since it shares many components as the dc but has much more graphic capabilities.

It achieves a better performance than a dreamcast., couldn't you see by the virtua tennis match intro?

  • @lDanteBMl yea but wasnt some games made for the dreamcast that where arcade port but better updates

  • @lDanteBMl

Actually, the sega naomi had the same amount of power the dreamcast had, you're thinking of the naomi 2.

  • Verry Nice! & Jamma = MAK / Super Gun
