i still think this item is useless. i say, for what it does, it should cost no more than 400 dollars at most. its basically an ebook reader that plays youtube and music. it has no disc slot, so i can't watch movies on it other than downloading them, which i would have to pay for. the only site it supports video playback for it youtube, it doesn't have a camera so you can't video chat, and basically a netbook still does more than this thing.

therealhuy, why would you care? True, a lot of websites do have something or everything in Flash today, but I think Steve Jobs made his point clear. Flash is dying and gets replaced by HTML5, which is much better and quicker anyways.

Even YouTube is already busy for a couple of months turning the site into HTML5 and it won't take very long till that's the new standard for the web.

I don't like the iPad but together with the iPod Touch and iPhone it's causing a fast change to HTML5. Awesome!

Praise the HTML5! But really...Flash isn't perfect, we all know this, but the truth is that if iPhone/iPodtouch/iPad had flash, now the appstore'd had just about the half of downloads(and it's a lot), because you can (relatively free) make all those dumb-(in)utilities (or at least many of them).

Plus, macromedia says that many people requested to the company a flash version for iphone, so there is a certain request.

@youcandance-Before you list the features you think it doesn't have, do some research. They will be selling USB and SD card adapters that plug right into the dock connector of the iPad. It may not mutil-task like any computer does, but it does kinda. Listen to music as you're browsing the web, maybe? No camera? Darn...it would be SO COOL to have a camera that is 5 times bigger than my digital camera. What a disappointment. No flash support is definantly a disappointment, though.

According to Apple survey, 77% of iPod touch owners asked for bigger screen and more power...so here is the iPad. Just what most of us asked for. There is also almost no demand for tablet computers. Tablets have been around for years. Most people carry a laptop anyways. The tablet computer never has and never will take off. HP Slate will be the same way.

apparently you havent done the research either, flash is not supported not because of some apple adobe conflict, but because of the fact that most games made in flash require mouseover pointing which basically means that the touchpad technology itself is not compatible with flash. also - youtube is working perfectly, what else do you flash for..

yes because it is a pc less the mouse since you can touch it. your hand is the mouse pointer itself. the problem is that there is no accuracy in pointing. there is no keyboard as well so they will use the on screen keyboard where you need a stylus to even type and or write a word.

plus it is better in handling viruses. plus the IS-LATE technology wherein you read an ebook like youre reading a document in a msword. good luck.

The Sims already runs on Mac, and the Steam Engine is coming to Mac (Valve published the news on Facebook) and that means 100's of great games for Mac. Besides, MS office runs on mac, and with good emulating software, you can run tons of Windows stuff. and If you meant specifically for the iPad, theres more than 150K apps. I got to disagree on that, Sofa, there are some games which play awesome on this device. The awesome ones are mainly race and strategy games though, but still, it are games, and they look good and run smooothly on this device. The iPhone and iPod Touch were too tiny for those.
