Seeker episode 1 part 9

That was some climactic battle. The farmboy can defeat a whole army with only one helper. Being a Seeker makes him totally powerful beyond all recognition. It is most amusing at 1:20, and the event is discussed later at 6:07. The Seeker gets to do a Frodo, and there is even fire involved. Kudos for putting a spin on the cliche that the old menter always dies.

Correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a while since I've read Wizards 1st Rule, Or The Stone of Tears for that matter, but doesn't Zed stay unconscious for a much longer time, forcing Richard, & Kahlan to traverse the boundary alone?

Man, as much as i love the book series, I'm not a huge fan of the tv series. I know its not gonna be exactly like the book, but they've changed so much it seems like they just took the characters and the basic story line and changed everything else.

I love legend of the seeker and just decided to go back and re-watch the episodes. Zed is my favorite character because he reminds me of Questor in The book Magic Kingdom For Sale. Great book by the way. :)

I think the purpose of a television series is to expand the story over several years not share everything in the first episode.. I have watched the full 1st season and now I am watching season two.. so far they have showed the anger part, kara, and various other characters and situations from the book.. not in the same sequence but it has been explained and i love the show so much more then ever now.

All I can say is that this is a show made for TV. Script writers have had a ball with this. They have kept some of the basic elements from the book to base this show on. While yes, I never expected to follow the books word for word, I hoped it would have similar character development and events. It is just so hard to let go of preconceived notions.

I will watch the remainder just to see how and if it can be all tied in seamlessly. I hope this grows on me. Anyway, thanks for putting the vid up

richard is supposed to have known EVERY word of that book, it doesnt matter if he burns it (which is way cooler than how in the story hes a total dipshit about every little thing) Darken Raul is blonde in the book!( why is he not blonde?? i love blondes! DX) Chase is white in the book! and michael isnt as much an asshole in the book!! but he is kinda hot ;D

O and another thing how come they never included the most important part of the sword. It creates fury in whoever uses it. This is one of the most important parts of the sword and is in soooo many key parts of the story i dont see how they could get rid of it

she uses her power twice during this episode. remember she can only use it once and then she needs 2 hour or so to recover. i like kahlans dress. show= amazing not like the book but not that big of a deal the main idea of the book is there. kahlan/richard are such a good team.

The battle scenes suck mokey balls.

There is hardly any blood, and its more dramatic movement than actual fighting.

Damn shows that have been filmed for a broad tv audience.

Wow. As a stand-alone television series, they did a really bad job of this. I'm not usually critical and there are things I like about it, but the acting is really bad and the fight scenes.. well.. they just sort of hit each other with sharp objects and then -poof- they're dead.

So what happened to the original story? This isn't what Terry Goodking wrote. This wasn't in Wizard's First Rule. They were followed by a quad (which is 4 men), not a small army. And Richard didn't kill all the of the last quad near the boundary, most of them died on a cliffside, one got away and that was the first time Richard killed with the sword of truth. Did the creators just forget to read the first book, or are they purposely trying to make this the biggest load of horse shit possible?

Zed is ok. Richard is not what I expected. I disagree with you about it being worse than Xena. They are very different. This show has more Arthurian elements than Xena. Didn't Darken Rahl have blond hair in the book? Can't remember. It's been a long time since reading the "Wizard's First Rule."

xena never had a story behind. This has a absolut fantastic story behind(in my opinion). So you could make something out of it.

yes, darken rahl has blond hair, like all rahls, except for richard. It's a detail, but an important one. He is blond, beautyfull, and wears only white robes. set's a nice contrast to he's cruel character. i think someone who make movies should take kare of such things.

You are right about the details being important. I'm not sure how much input Goodkind had in the small thing. So my sympathy goes out to you for being so meanly rated on your comments. As a fan of the series I spent many rainy days curled up with the "Sword of Truth" novels. Of course I was one of those geeks howling on the opening night of "The Fellowship of the Rings". Folks can be possessive at times You make excellent points. The kind that got it bad reviews. Best of luck to you.
