I agree ....I heard from a guy who makes videos that a lot of the haters are in their 30's -40's....I was shocked ....he said that he has received death threats and heard of haters getting arrested for such. Thanks for sharing.
Having recentlly joined utube and checked out many different sites I agree a great deal with what theworldofmozz said. I think his comments here is the best and the sanest reply about haters/trolls I've seen. I've yet to post a video, doing preprod. on an independent film and hope to have the trailer up as soon as I can.
The reason why there are so many haters on youtube, is because the people leaving the hater comments have to no ball's to say it to your face, so they simple type it through youtube.

I think Haters are people who have nothing better to do but sit behind the keyboard and act tough, think it's funny and know they can get away with it. There's a difference between speaking the truth and being down right RUDE. But what can you do? there is haters everywhere.
It seems to me that most of the negativity on the internet, in one way or another, can always be traced to jealously towards real, or perceived celebrity status. I believe that it is accelerated here due to the publicly viewable counts, whether it be Subscribers, Views, or to a lesser extent ratings.

There are a lot of haters...But I have found a lot of good people as well. When you find some cool people ....surround yourself with them....block out the haters...and then pretty soon, more good people will find your circle of good people. It does take time though!
The anonymity of the internet certainly gives people license to let their dark side speak. What saddens me is that my personal impression of "the people out there" has diminished as a result of my online experience. The world doesn't feel as friendly as it used to, because haters make me wonder what people are really thinking when they smile & say nice things. I often wonder what some youtubers would create if they weren't spending so much energy reacting to the haters.
