  • Huh, I'm an atheist, but I wouldn't say 'work hard' is one of my values.

'Work smart/work to live' is really more of it for me. I guess my opinion on hard work is dependent on the payoff. I don't think it's worthwhile for it's own sake and I find it disturbing that so many people do. (And that in spite of this society is STILL hideously inefficient.)

Although to be honest most people who go on about hard work are in reality whiny slackers who CLAIM/WHINE they work hard, in my experience.

  • @TheSkunkCat

Honestly though, you work to live, you don't live to work. That's what the people making huge profits of your back want you to do. To work hard so that THEY can live it up. Which is exactly what I'd stand against. (In fact I'd love to abolish the billionaire class entirely and democratize labour and divide the wealth alot more equally.) Eh, I guess my mind just hasn't been shat all over by any McCarthy-corrupted culture. Since I'm not from the US.

  • @TheSkunkCat

I guess though I do have ONE 'hard work' esque value.

I think people shouldn't be INTELLECTUALLY lazy. Unproductive isn't really a good thing, but I strongly prefer a not especially productive (but still SOMEWHAT productive) physically lazy, but intellectually active person over some workaholic drone that busts their butt, but doesn't know shit about shit and doesn't want to know shit.

    MENTAL activity for the win.

  • No part of you ever has been or ever will be 'separate' or disappear.

  • I understand what you two are saying.

That there's no evidence of heaven, hell, or Any kind of spiritual after life.

I agree that there's a huge wide range of deferent religions on earth. Which one is the correct one. I agree with that.

My question is to you two is, where's your evidence that your correct! There's not one shred of evidence that there's nothing when you die. Therefore nobody truly knows, And I think it suppose to be that way.

I do agree that organized religion is bullshit.

  • @bkmonte That's not how it works. It's not up to us to prove a negative. The burden of proof is on the one making the statement. Atheism is not a belief, it's the rejection of a belief.

  • @bkmonte

There is a strong and statistically significant NEGATIVE correlation between spiritual claims and physical results.

  • @bkmonte Well, simply by fact that there is no evidence for something after death we can say that nothing happens because the evidence doesn't support any life after death claims.

  • Mother nature is science dumb shit

  • That's a hairdo like atheism is a religion.

  • @Bravens92 are you a retardism?

  • No. I just happen to believe that it is wrong to kill without reason! You are just a typical far right winger. Throw a bunch of asinine questions at me. And, when you can't answer my questions you, simply avoid them and then try to place labels on me. I'm a decent, hard working, american, with a strong set of morals, that I get on my own accord. I don't need threats of punishment to do what's right. I treat others well because I enjoy having people to care about.

  • @Bravens92 Is it because of your fear of eternal damnation? I don't kill because, I have no reason to kill. We have evolved passed that primal instinct. Now, if someone were to threaten my life. I would most definitely protect myself. I would do my best to avoid having to use lethal force. But, if it came down to it, I would use lethal force. But, to kill someone for absolutely no reason. I would never do that. Death without reason is wrong. Why kill someone, if they aren't harming you?

  • @Bravens92 And you people completely miss the point. And you never answer the question. Why does god make a commandment, and then tell us to break it? Why do you ignore the old testament, when it clearly says that you shouldn't? I answered all the questions brought forth to me! How's about you people start giving me some answers! And stop avoiding my questions, and throwing more questions at me. But, feel free cause I have answers. Why do you think killing is wrong?

  • @Bravens92 Once a being has evolved to the point that they are aware of the difference between life and death. They now know that if they are to take the life of another, they can never return that to them. We all know that when someone dies, they never come back. I really can't believe I am explaining this to you ! Anyway, It is my belief, and that of the majority of the world's population that killing is wrong. Whether or not they are Christian. Some religions believe it wrong to kill insects!

  • i love this show :)

  • Atheism makes your hair fall out, 3/4ths of the time. I am safe, however. :D

  • What a horrible life to not believe in anything.

  • @mattuk180586 actually its not that bad(i am agnostic so i wouldent know all the way) it helps you knowing that life is for living not worrying about some man who gets to pick what you do and when you do die you get to find out what happens and technically if atheist are right you wont know your dead cuz your brain dosent work

  • @mattuk180586 I've never met anyone who "doesn't believe in anything". But if it makes you more comfortable to think that's what skeptic or atheists are, that's your issue. What Matt said was that he doesn't believe in things without any reason to do so.

  • @mattuk180586 Atheists aren't necessarily nihilists...

  • @mattuk180586 And to live your life believing in something which doesn't exist is better?

  • @mattuk180586 I believe that we live in a physical universe, I believe that we have life on earth! You claim to say that believing in a god makes your life better. The God of the bible endorses and advocates, Slavery, Rape, Genocide, Mass killings of innocents! People believe in diffrent things! Respect that! Religion are nothing but fairytales to scare people and force people to accept that you die. When i die, My body will stop working and my body will decompose

  • @MarcusEFN Its a fact of life on earth and a universe. Those things are there for you to see and touch. Stalin was a hard core atheist, look at all of the people he killed. To him they were just bodies that would just decompose. You don't think that the Egyptians had slaves? There has to be a purpose to life or it wouldn't be worth living. I do respect that you do not believe in a creator, but I think it is foolish to live a life in denial. When you are close to death, you may feel different.

  • @mattuk180586 ''Whn you are close to death, you may feel diffrent''. Sure i will, Because my brain and heart and other organs in my body start to give up. And when i'm dead, I'm dead. Like sleeping forever

  • @mattuk180586 The Egyptians had more Gods than you do, maybe they were right.

  • I think the caller was trying to say that Mother Nature can cause bad things to happen: which is true. Mother Nature can be a dangerous, violent Mother.

If Mother Nature is the same thing as God (you only have to look at Nature to know there is a God), would you want to bow down in worship?

Take a look at the YouTube video ' God says sorry. '

  • i have the problem where everything just ends like you know when u blink u see the black for a sec i think in death there's no death death is something ive woke up screaming about like omg i cant realy explane it like does it all just end nothing more nothing less and btw im 14 and im scard shitless about what we call death

  • @itstonni think of it this way, you were "dead" 13,7 billion years before you existed

  • @itstonni You need to check out some of Richard Dawkins videos. His view on life and death is amazing. Watch this (The Comfort Of Religion And The Purpose Of Life) here on youtube.

  • @MrBonghits666 Richard Dawkins is an idiot.

  • @mattuk180586 How many books have you written that have been published with great success? How many years of college have you attended? How many prestigious universities have you lectured, and or taught at? If your only basis for calling him an idiot, is his disbelief in a fairy tale character created 2,000 plus years ago. Then you sir are the idiot. What credentials do you have that prove you are less of an idiot than Dawkins?

  • @mattuk180586 Let me ask you this. Have you ever even read that evil tome that you hold so dear to your heart? Do you even know the god you defend with such zeal, such undying devotion?! I do. He is first and foremost a liar. He is a murderer. He condones rape, slavery, child abuse, genocide, he is a hypocrite. "God" tells us in the ten commandments, that killing is wrong. Yet throughout the bible he tells people to kill others. Based on their lifestyle choices. He is no god. He is a monster!

  • @MrBonghits666 Yes I have read the Bible. I thought you didn't believe in God? If this is so, why is killing and the other things you described wrong to you? You have to understand that the old testament was a different time and culture. Things changed when Jesus came to earth and his gospal was preached to all. If you actually read the Bible, you would understand it better.

  • @mattuk180586 First off, you don't need a belief in god to tell you that certain things are wrong. Killing is wrong whether or not you believe in god. 2nd, I understand the bible fine. Here is some reading material for you. Matthew 5:18-19,Luke 16:17,Matthew 5:17,2 Timothy 3:16,2 Peter 20-2 . It clearly states in these scriptures, that no part of the bible and it's law is ever subject to change. Nor, is it open to personal interpretation. Third, what does timeline have to do with murder?

  • @mattuk180586 Just because it was another timeline, doesn't excuse the fact that the god you believe in broke his own commandments. According to the bible that is. Why do you believe that just because all these horrible atrocities, supposedly happened about 2,000 years ago, it makes it okay somehow? I don't care if it happened 2 billion years ago, it's still wrong. And, for your information I was a christian for 24 years before becoming an atheist. So I think I know a thing or two about it!

  • @mattuk180586 You can't simply ignore all the bad stuff in the bible. Is the bible not the word of god? Do you not believe that your god is perfect? Does god not say that he is an angry, vengeful, jealous god? Answer me this. If god is all knowing, then how can he be angry, or vengeful? When he already knows everything that's going to happen, even before it does happen. You all say that god has a plan. So why is he so angry ? His plan must be going as planned. He is god after all ! Right?!

  • watch?v=ptwEV0xhTzI

  • Idiot: Okay, so how do you explain mother nature then? Where does mother nature come from?

Bald Guy: What is mother nature?

Idiot: What is mother n-- EXACTLY!, what is it?

    Me: ...

    ...

    ...

    TROLOLOLOLOLOL !!!!

  • @2realtvofficiallol

Atheism is not the belief that god does not exist, it is the LACK of belief in god. I agree people should believe what they want, but you also need to realize that beliefs inform actions, and the kind of actions Theists tend to take are to revoke women's rights to abortion, keep gay people from getting married, and advocate against stem cell research. Religious belief is a real problem in society today.

  • lol not your new hairdo? uh yea your baldhead kinna looks like a dick

  • @TheGuinnessboys Well too bad your dick looks like a thumb.

  • @onesweetasuzy

Bible quotes are not evidence for the truthfullness of the bible.

Ad Hominem attacks are only one step above name calling when it comes to their validity in a debate or argument.

  • @onesweetasuzy

    God creates Hell.

God says he will send you there if you don't believe in him.

God provides no evidence for his own existance.

Sorry, but I can't choose to believe in somthing when it is clear that it isn't true, its called intellectual integrity.

  • @MrCBeliever11 We cannot just "flip" the point over. The burden of proof lies with the person making the claim, and in this case its you.

If i stated that i know there is no afterlife then the burden of proof is on me, i can say i dont believe there is one because lack of evidence to support it or i dont believe a god exists because there is no extrodinary evidence for such an extraordinary claim.

I do not claim anything, you and your religious cretins do..

  • @MrCBeliever11 What a clown, THINK...

I do not HAVE to prove anything, how can you prove a negative? Im REJECTING your claim a god exists...

The burden of proof lies with the person making the claim, its as simple as that. I DO NOT claim a god does not exist, i reject your claim one does exist. I reject your claim there is an afterlife.

If the burden of proof was on the person rejecting the claim we would live in the utterly stupid world you seem to inhabit.

  • @onesweetasuzy no it would be more like taking out the bridge yourself, telling me it is out ahead, and if I don't trust you and go look for myself you come up behind me and push me off.

  • @MrCBeliever11 Do i need evidence and proof to reject the claims of all religions?

Or do you accept the claims of all other religions as well as you own particular flavour?

You religious people do not think before letting your fingers lose on the keyboards...

  • @onesweetasuzy If are you attempting to say people come back from the dead or walk on water or that there are other worlds like heaven and hell then I will say they are fairy tales, it is no different to a muslim saying there are flying horses or hindus telling me there are god with 8 hands.

The bible, my good sir is a fairy tale (myth if this is more understandable to you) from a geocentric and backward time.

  • @onesweetasuzy If i do not heed the warning about the bridge will i be tortured forever? Of course it will be my fault for not heeding the warning, however if i drown it will be my own stupidity and the end of it. But you are not proposing a wahed out bridge, i have imperical evidence for a bridge, i do not for your superman in the sky.

If i was to believe everything anyone said without evidence then i could not go about my daily life, your evidence for your supernatural "bridge" is too weak.

  • @onesweetasuzy When will you understand linking passages from fairytales is not impressive at all!!

Would you be impressed and convinced if i linked passages from the Koran or Illiad? No, i didnt think so.

  • @onesweetasuzy It is your burden of proof to prove we have a spirit in our body if you claim we have one.

This is simple logic, if i claim an invisible monkey lives in my shed do you have to believe me until you prove me wrong, is it your burden of proof to prove me wrong? The burden of proof is with me, i made the claim an invisible monkey exists in my shed it is on me to prove to you that it exists.

The threat of hell at the end of your post is sick, you people need to check youselves.

  • @onesweetasuzy Linking sentences from a book of fairy tales is not going to win me over.

You are saying "look at the trees!" Do you have any idea how pathetic and limp that answer would be. I can give you a complete and detailed explanation for why there are trees or dogs or watches or keyboards or clouds, the one reason that would not make sense is god did it, its not even explanitory, it answers a question with a mystery and that is not an answer.

  • @onesweetasuzy I would rather be intellectually honest and if your all loving god burns me for that then so be it.

I think it is more likely if he exists he will banish all the stupid people that believed in shit without evidence.

Gullibility is a not a virtue.

  • lol so that second caller's 'gotchya' was to claim belief in Santa Clause just so that the hosts weren't believing in everything the caller believes in? wow

  • @onesweetasuzy Prove it, or you're just making another baseless assertion in a sea of millions of others.

  • @onesweetasuzy Do you have evidence?

  • Nobody goes to heaven or hell when they die, according to the Bible. They go to the grave to await the resurrection.

  • dont title the video what happens when you die if you don't have an answer

  • what did that guy say? Hardly unstand a world! Why can't people speak clearly?

  • @methanbreather I guess he said:you're a bunch of dicks!

  • @kafkazinho maybe or he said: I am a monkey with no brain - we will never know!

  • I have an irrefutable reason.Your body is made of the real clay of the Earth (chemicals). It cannot vanish, but it does change form. The ego vanishes because it was never real. It was just made up by you to see you through. We know this for a fact. However, the ultimate mechanation behind your presence, the ultimate blueprint, potential, and wherewithall that reified you is eternal. I postulate that nothing that is real can disappear, because where would some real thing that exists existence go?

  • niggers are so retarded LOL it didnt make any sense what his niger language was saying lol

  • @KainZidane I have reason to think that you are not just a little, but vastly more retarded than the caller in this video. You my dear. . . you are a bigot. That is the lowest of all use of the human cognitive faculties.

  • What is it with afro-americans?? Stupid, uneducated, incomprehensible.

  • I believe the sun will rise... i bet the caller doesn't 0.0

  • LOL!

  • "Ah! Ah! Death! Death! thou shalt long for death. Death is forbidden, o man, unto thee." Death is an illusion, nothing more than a transformation. EVEN the physical body does not die, cells at atoms are still very much alive long after "death". And the body is consumed by the earth, transformed into a plant, a flower, etc.... NOTHING dies, only transformed. ALL is a part of god, and how could god die??

  • @Alkhemist10 atoms aren't alive. There is certain criteria that defines life. Everything can't be alive or the word loses all meaning. In animals, death occurs when it's system of organs stop functioning. To say nothing dies is stupid, because then we have to create a new word for when the process of living stops. God will die when we stop believing in it.

  • What happens when you die? Well every religion in the world seems to agree on one thing, your "soul/consciousness" will live on... Even bad people go to hell and are tortured for eternity, even evil people live on after their physical body dies. So what exactly happens? Try to imagine yourself dead, you most likely imagined that you are looking at your dead body... You CANT imagine being dead literally, because your soul unconsciously knows it cannot die.

  • So the best argument is that since there is no proof it is reasonable to doubt and since it is reasonable it is true or the at least the best choice but there is a possibility that it is not true and given that and its unsure but sure certainty, it is boring and incomplete; there is no reason to argue, there is no incontrovertible truth in this world of observation. Shouldn't the reasonable thing be to consider the mysterious claims and chose. Can we even chose? If i may, Jesus is Lord

  • "I wish I could talk with more atheists."

  • The ppl who call in on these videos are mostly wasted.they ask questiins. But they don't know what to say. So they start swearin and shit. Even if ure no atheist they don't se the same way. So swearin at them will make tit look like ure side of the arguenent is bulshhit and pesonal.

  • jews christians and muslims beleive in the same god,the one true god

  • @pinball281 No they don't. What are you talking about?

  • @BlackoutArchive what? yes they do,more to the point what the fuck are you talking about.Jews christians and muslims beleive in the same god, they have 3 different books and 3 different paths but it leads to the opne and only creator of the universe.Lol you may know him by the name evolution. The quran was an update to the torah and the gospel,it is known to be the direct word of god and never changed by mortals.Muslims are big on jesus and the other prophets before him.

  • Guess what? Well, you still can't answer questions the way they were asked. And since you can't provived evidence that there is no God ; I'm not interested in your stupid arguments. Your like a child I say this you say that, if you don't have evidence otherwise, I really don't care what you think. And, giving that you don't have this evidence; I will not be responding to you.

  • @Hadasah2Nehemiah You sir, are an idiot. Most atheists aren't claiming they KNOW there's no god, they simply lack a belief in one because there's not enough sufficient scientific evidence. I don't believe that there's a god, but I'm not saying I know there isn't one either.

  • @BeavisNButtheadRock Was I thalking to you ? I don't think so, but you know what? I don't honestly care what you believe, If you don't have evidence to prove there is no God, you really should not be arguing with people who believe there is one, because first and formost you can't porve them wrong.Very simple. And let me ask you this, why do you care what people belive in? I mean seriously I would love to know.

  • @Hadasah2Nehemiah Wow, I'm not even wasting my time debating with a moron like you anyway. How about you give me proof that zeus and apollo don't exist? Fucking idiot. Also, to answer your second question religion destroys people's brains, you're an excellent example of that. But to be honest, I don't even think you're being serious, I think you're a poe.

  • @Hadasah2Nehemiah Also, I don't give a shit if you were talking to me or not asshole, this is the internet and I'll reply back to whoever I fucking want to.

  • @BeavisNButtheadRock First, let me say I think you're seriously loosing you're temper, and Who said something about a debate? Right now, I coul'd not care less what you think. And second, " religion destroys people's brains" well let me say I think something is wrong with your's.

  • @Hadasah2Nehemiah The reason I'm losing my temper is because I'm tired of dealing with ignorant people like you who use strawman arguments. Also,There's something wrong with my brain? I'm not the one claiming you have to prove a non belief. I see you failed to answer my question, give me proof that zeus and apollo don't exist.

  • @BeavisNButtheadRock "Strawman argument", now i'm really begining to think you have no brain. Don't even start to pretend you don't belive in nothing. And, honestly I'm not loosing any more time with you.

  • @Hadasah2Nehemiah Oh STFU poe. For the last time, atheism is merely the lack of belief in any deities. And since you couldn't answer MY question for the second time, I'm done talking to you. I honestly don't know how anyone could be so stupid.

  • @BeavisNButtheadRock If you choose not to respond, that's great. But meanwhile, let me say you should look at all my previous coments pefore you pretend to know where I stand. And, as for the question you say I didn't answer, well let me say I honestly didn't see a point in answering it in the first place, since I never argue with people who belive in zeus or apollo.

  • @Hadasah2Nehemiah I don't believe in zeus or apollo, but I'm just using them as an example because they're just as fictional as your god is, now please go back under your bridge.

  • Comment removed

  • @BeavisNButtheadRock You know what? I never said you believed in zeus or apollo. And, do you see a bridge or is that fictional? You say " God is fictional", you said it, you believe it, prove it; where is you're evidence?

  • @Hadasah2Nehemiah You still talking? FAIL TROLL IS FAIL!

  • @Hadasah2Nehemiah For the last time, go back under your bridge, you're pathetic at your weak attempts of trolling

  • @BeavisNButtheadRock Ya! by the way, I'm done. I have absolutely nothing further to say, specially to someone as dumb as you appear to be right now.

  • @Hadasah2Nehemiah That's right, keep trolling you no life bitch, nobody gives a fuck about what you say.

  • "Okay well you a bunch of dickheads man." best argument ever.

  • SOooooooooooooooooo ,If you Atheists think once your dead your dead nothing eles there. We live our life as best we can, be happy, love, live life to its fullest ect. Why on earth do you bother with all these videos about Atheisim. Whats your point? why do you bother with what people believe in? If they believe in God,Why do you care? They have nothing to loose? Life is short, and I tell you it takes more, much more faith to say i'm going to believe in nothing.

  • I think you are wrong. After we die, we go to "a waiting room" essentially while god decides whether we go to heaven or hell. Then we might get another life on earth. But we will have no memory of Heaven, Hell, or our previous lives.

  • so as atheists , you don't recognize. Love, honor,Hate,or anything that is intangible.

so to you atheists , law, art(music),business,or sports are useless.so why waste your time?if you believe in nothing? whats the point?

  • @thatVeteran You're wrong if you're suggesting Atheists don't recognize intangible assets & believe in noting. Belief in a god isn't required to believe intangible assets exist. Atheists have the same emotions as theists. Atheists don't believe law, art, sports, business etc. are useless. STOP trying to make shit up. You're either prejudice of Atheists or Ignorant of Atheism. Atheism is nothing more than the rejection of theistic claims.

  • @er20092009 hahaha

  • Does the second caller believe in the tooth fairy too?

  • Comment removed

  • there is no God,how many innocent people need to die every day for people to figure it out! geez!

  • omg the 2nd caller was an idiot. -_-

  • Atheism is a default mind set in my opinion. It is a lack of belief.

  • if then First Law of Thermodynamcis is "ENERGY can neither be created nor destroyed. It can only change form." what happens to our life energy? so are you saying that their is no consequences for bad behavior.or wrong doing. as far as faith goes, you hope you are right and have no proof that you are right.

  • @thatVeteran Consider this, say you die and are cremated, as the fuel (dead cells) burns the energy generated is in no way connected with the synaptic patterns firing in your brain while you were alive. As soon as the synaptic patterns cease, the life form loses its personality (and any responsibilities or consequences herein) and immediately becomes a corpse, that is that. Your logic is flawed from the outset since energy =/=consciousness, are you even a little embarrassed by your ignorance?

  • @JuanchoMan So your telling me your intelligent response is from direct personal experience then. you are saying you have died the somehow came back to life.so you know with no question and complete certainly.

that dead is dead and nothing exists after right.. so quoting you. ", are you even a little embarrassed by your ignorance?" because if you have undeniable proof , you are now a millionaire author.Ill just take my chances with my personal beliefs thank you

  • @thatVeteran I don't claim to know this is so with absolute certainty, but this is where the evidence points to. If someone makes an extraordinary claim, life after death, the burden of proof is on them to provide evidence that this happens; Until this evidence is forthcoming I will maintain a position of disbelief. I apologize for the rude tone at the end, it was uncalled for, however... when you said "I'll just take my chances" this just screams Pascal's Wager, which is another bad argument.

  • @JuanchoMan Pascal's Wager, when every single ideology ,call it religion,if you want. teaches some kind of life after death and I am not focusing only on Christianity.there testimony many from people of science,of people who have been clinically dead for long periods of time and revived tell of events and memories of that time when life was not present during that time. it would then be simple to deduce that life "or consciousness" continues after death.and this has been documented.

  • @thatVeteran so if you dismiss intangible traits, why become angry? that's an intangible thing

that's like saying human's do not have personality, as those traits are intangible.so isn't someones faith regardless of what ever their own ideas or ideals.the same?ideas of honor, love ,anger.

  • @thatVeteran Many christians believe the Law is useless because they ASSert as long as You accept jesus & repent (before You die) for all your sins including murder & rape You will be saved. Christianity is a Pass to get out of Jail for free. Personally I believe religion especially christianity is nothing more than a tool created by some people, designed to control many people. If childhood Indoctrination was criminalized, christianity would die a swift death.

  • I'll tell you when I die mmmkay!?

  • "I was dead for millions of years before I was born. It didn't trouble me one bit."

  • If these two are SO confident that there is no afterlife, then why does EVERY religion ever assert an afterlife? Tell me that.

  • @K9mc100 because afterlife is what the religious scams offer. isn't it obvious?

  • @JohnF30Music "After life," you mean, Heaven? or Hell ?,remember its both. Every one wants to go to heaven they just don't whant God to be there. What does atheism offer paece of mind for the wicked? I wonder. Why do you care what people believe in?

  • @Hadasah2Nehemiah it does not matter what you like or wish. it matters what evidence exists. atheism doesn't HAVE to offer anything. all scams offer something awesome, that doesn't make them true

  • Comment removed

  • @JohnF30Music Wait, that goes as well for you; It does not matter what you like or wish. It matters what evidence exist. Sooo.. What evidence do you have to say there is no God? And you think hell is awesome? Because it offers that too. And you say ," scams offer something awesome and that doesn't make them true,"but some things have exactly what they offer , and that does not make them false.

  • Depressing as it sounds, I'm afraid the answer is surprisingly simple...you simply cease to be. Just like before you were born, there is no perception of time, no emotions, no cares, no worries, but also no joy or happiness...it's just the end and you won't care at all.

  • @voxrecordings It can be frustrating when you really want to have a serious discussion on this issue, and the whole jesus thing keeps popping up. It doesn't make me mad personally, but can you not see how that would be annoying?

  • Comment removed

  • @voxrecordings Well, this is a complicated issue, but you believe In Jesus because of the Bible. To many of us, the ideas presented in the Bible are completely and utterly irrelevant as we have read it for ourselves and interpreted something very different than you. To have Jesus ALWAYS come up as a serious answer to these types of questions just starts to get tiring after awhile, as many of us have long moved on from such "teachings"

  • @voxrecordings "Why would you think that Jesus would not be brought up? He is the answer to all of your questions." I already explained how that answers nothing. When we thought the earth was flat, you would have said god made it flat. THE WORLD IS NOT FLAT! And how did we find out? By revelation, or by evidence? Science gives us the ability to actually discover truth and actually heal people. Revelation tells you to stop looking for the answer and pretend you already have it.

  • ??? What is this? You stick your fingers in your ears and sing really loud? This is exactly what I said: "Revelation tells you to stop looking for the answer and pretend you already have it." Is your position really so weak that it cannot be questioned at all? That you must ask those who question it to stop questioning it? The only motivation anyone could ever have to tell someone to stop questioning is because they know their position is wrong. Also, you're violating 1 Peter 3:15.

  • I don't have my mind made up. I am not stubborn or proud--I can't be "proud" of recognizing how reason works because it works whether I see it or not. If the bible described specific subatomic particles before we confirmed it empirically, I would believe. If the bible said Jupiter was a planet with a red storm (or spot) on it, I would believe. If the bible said America existed, wash your hands to kill germs, or a major earthquake would occur on 3/11/11, I'd believe. SPECIFIC, confirmable info.

  • @voxrecordings At least you know what 1 Peter 3:15 says, lol. I merely pointed out that "god did it" is not an answer because, as you must see, "god did it" explains why the earth is flat even when the earth is not flat. "God did it" explains why angels are pushing the stars through the sky, even when there are no angels doing any such thing. As for the rest of the discussion...I lost the thread of this conversation. What were we talking about? lol

  • Comment removed

  • @voxrecordings If you'll note, you started the conversation with me. If you don't CARE whether what you believe is true or not, fine. I freely admit that your god may exist, just as I freely admit ANYTHING unknown may exist. I simply withhold belief in things until I see evidence. Now your turn: will you say it is possible your god doesn't exist? That you, a flawed human being, may be wrong? If not, you are the one being arrogant and prideful. (Remember 1 Peter 3:15 and respond!)

  • @voxrecordings " and all other Atheist can not explain with our level of scientific knowledge. God made the big bang." You say god made the big bang. Take that back a step to before we had the big bang theory. Let's say we are where we were when we thought the sun was the center of the universe. Then you'd say god made the sun the center of the universe. Before that, god made the earth the center of the universe. Before that, god made the earth flat. "God made" works FOR ANYTHING!

  • Comment removed

  • @voxrecordings I want you to think about what you said: " 'god made' works for anything because he made everything." By that logic, the earth is flat, the earth is the center of the universe, the sun is the center of the universe, etc. You are aware that such thinking gets you no where? (And theologically, god made Satan, god made evil, god made imperfect people, god made and imperfect universe. How do you explain that?)

  • Comment removed

  • @voxrecordings Not at all. Something is either perfect or not. Since many things in "creation" are imperfect by any meaninful definition, then any "creator" must be imperfect also. You can't say a perfect car mechanic "fixed" your car even though your car still does not start, then say he is only imperfect to my finite view. If there is ANYTHING in my finite view that is imperfect, then IT CANNOT COME FROM A PERFECT SOURCE. See how logic works?

  • @voxrecordings Sure, when you believe a superbeing god that can do all things exists, of course everything is going to make sense if you fill in all the gaps with GOD DID IT.

That's the easy way out...requires absolutely no thought or reasoning skills. Nothing but faith.

BTW, why do you need faith to believe in this god? If something is real and verifiable through evidence, faith is not needed. Even air and wind is verifiable through evidence.

    How do you explain that?

  • @voxrecordings Prayer does not work. If you flipped a coin 100 times, and prayed for heads the entire time, you'd say god answered your prayers 50 times but didn't 50 times. CONFIRMATION BIAS! Say 100 people are in a disaster, and all of them pray to survive, and one survives. He shouts, "My prayers were answered!"...and the other 99 people are not there to complain. You can pray for me, but you are lucky people like me are thinking for you--especially when you think science is based on faith.

  • @voxrecordings It's not just ONE scientist who is writing the books, it's many scientists, thousands of scientists over the years..it's also tv documentaries, peer reviewed findings, journals, the works.

And these scientists explain their findings, so you can go ahead and experiment yourself to see if their conclusions are in any way valid.

We HAVE the option to conduct experiments to confirm validity of claim.

So it has NOTHING to do with faith.

  • @voxrecordings I don't need to complete every scientific experiment ever! The fact that my GPS works is proof that relativity is correct! The fact that DNA actually does determine paternity is proof that DNA is real! This is the difference between science and faith--science can demonstrate itself to even nonexperts through its results. Faith cannot do that. You give the impression of someone who has never read about, heard, or discussed arguments against faith. Is this possible?

  • @voxrecordings You are a judgemental sanctimonious bastard, I HATE Christians like you, who think you know what is in our hearts, but you know NOTHING. Your heart is full of that pride you like to accuse others of having. It is YOU who is filled with everything vile, you who judges without knowing?

WE have blinders on? You're the one who believes on FAITH, on no evidence, on NOTHING. You know what you believe in? EMOTIONS. That's right, emotions are your god, and you don't know it.

  • @voxrecordings "God is a real as you or me"

Sounds like you're trying to convince YOURSELF, not anyone here.

If this god was real, he'd be real, LIKE YOU AND ME..he wouldn't depend on people like you to keep repeating this fallacy. What, do you think by repeating GOD IS REAL GOD IS REAL, he'll materialize for the rest of us?

This god is a figment of the imagination, some being that had you been born in India, you wouldn't be worshiping. Indoctrination's a bitch.

  • @voxrecordings And let me tell you something, I've had so many people pray for me hoping that I'd find Jesus that I've lost count..

    AND NOTHING.

God's existence should not depend on me BELIEVING in god's existence.

    Dot it. End it. Period.

    Either he exists or not.
