The only thing i dislike is the open closed face angle feature. It doesn't change anything. This method doesn't work on a grassy surface. The face angle does not change in relation to the shaft like is offered by nike and other makers. All that's adjusted is the way in which the red dial meets the ground and when the ground is not solid i.e grassy you notice no difference at all. Its a joke.
@philyfree There is no way it is physically possible to be as stupid as you appear to be. Your hostility only further advances the fact that you are wrong (and a dumbass). You are not worth my time.
@prorobo Can you tell me then how the open closed feature would work without first grounding the club head on a flat surface..... No is the answer, i.e you don't know what you're talking about. There are plenty of golfing threads on exactly what I'm talking about. You need to know more about what is being adjusted and an understanding of the most basic physics before you can make silly comments. The guy above was not being sarcastic. Uneducated sneers like you make me laugh
I recently purchased an r11 and and i wont be changing drivers for a while. Only down side is that there are too many settings and the sound is loud and dosent sound great.
mark really need help with shaft. no oppurtunity for demo. ss 110, high launch current driver 10.5 in matrix hd6. too high and on lowest setting. what loft, tp shaft and stiffness would you recommend given the limited info
i was wondering if the r11 would be a good choice to look at, i hit an old callaway big bertha steelhead 205cc head and hit it well and wanted a new driver, any help?
my dad purchased the r11 and i took it out and played around with it for 18 on a midweek round.i tried all of the setting s but settled on the 9 degree neutral as i normally use a 9.5.not a bad club but a bit tricky and less balanced than the superfast 460 which i use.came to the conclusion that i would prefer my burner and its about half the price at the moment.(also struggled with any controlled draw/fade on the r11).
Hey mark i am in the market for a good driver im a 8 hdc would u recommend this club for me? ive hit it in stores and it feels looks and sounds goot and I hit it 295 while i average 275 with my burner 07 so thanks 4 the vidio would be grateful for the recomendation!
I went to the shop to fit a driver yesterday. Tried the Callaway Razr Hawk (10.5, draw, stiff), the TM Burner Superfast 2.0 (10.5, stiff) and the R11 (9deg, stiff). Apart from feel we compared the data on a proper launch monitor. The setup of the R11 was definately best for my swing (ss 110mph). Better ball flight, signicantly more distance, less spin. It also felt less springy of the face and the appearance was smaller (which I like) than the Burner. I love it, apart from the price: 365 Euro.
Ive hit this driver, but I don't see what the real difference is between the R11 and the R9 supertri driver. There both very similar in terms of distance, feel and control
Hi Mark - Just bought the R11 last week. My problem is keeping the ball low. I even sky my 3 iron. Anyway set the R11 to the low position on the 9 degree and the others are reg setting. Can't believe how well I'm hitting it, easily 30-40 yards further and mainly because of the normal ball flight. €350 is the most I've ever paid for a club but so far well worth it.
Mark, I purchased my R11 driver Sunday and love the club. I get great distance even on my mishits. I have the 10.5 regular flex, factory shaft. I havent done much tweaking to it but have already set it to 9.5 and closed the ASP to neutralize the face at address. The one problem i have with the club is the spin!!! Even with it at 9.5 i get no roll. I hit it perfectly straight down the fairway and then the ball stops and gets no roll!!! Any advice on how to tweak the club to get some more roll an
@dillon1915 i had the same problem with my 910 D3 and so my coach got me to try a Proforce V2 73g! It helped a lot its probably the cheapest and most effective shaft (for me) to lower spin rates !!! make sure you try the shaft out first, it is popular on older(2008?) era clubs. Its a much heavier shaft and its stiffness levels are different compared to stock shafts so be careful not to buy to stiff! If your in between a shaft flex choose the weaker flex.
Hey I'm a younger player who really needs a new driver would this be a good one to get price is not a problem I just want to get more distance and lower scores
go with the superfast 2.0 its alot lighter but if you want all the gadgets and adjust ability then obviously go with the r11 but the superfast is longer....
if i were you i would go to golfsmith or where ever you go and get fitted
I'm currently awaiting the arrival of my new 9 degree. I have been hitting a Nike Ignite the last few years. I like the Nike but Nike is charging just as much for their VR pro as TM is charging for the R11。The R9 was epic, why wouldn't the R11 follow suit?
hi im a 14 year old, and i demoed the r11 and i noticed when i was hitting with it i last ALOT of distance i usually hit and 240-250 and i was only hitting like 200...yes it was with range balls and it was a stiff shaft...i just couldnt tell if it was that or the club.?
@mickeywong11 This is all about your swing plane. If you're too upright you'll either pull the ball or slice it. If you're too flat, you'll either push the ball or hook it. Make sure your setup is right, too. 90% of all problems occur at the setup!
I was thinking if you could do a comparison between the new TAYLORMADE R11 HYRBRID and the ADAMS GOLF A7 HYRBRID. I need a new hybrid and would really appreciate some pro tips. I subscribed to you because I really like the reviews you do, I hope you can help me out!
Thanks for this review Mark, I have the 10.5 deg R7 Quad and just use the weights to achieve a higher or lower trajectory by fitting the heavy weights either to the front or rear position, im interested in the +1/-1 degree loft adjustment which i think is achieved by the different positions the shaft is attached to the head, just wondered if you tried this option and what you thought. Thanks for the great videos.
I absolutely love my R11! The stock Blur X didn't cut it, but I put in a Motore F1 tour issue 65X and it turned into the best driver I have ever put in my hands, without a doubt. It's really ALL about the shaft and weight combo, and it's fun to play around with on the range too. I came from a Ping i15, which was nice, but a bit of a balloon machine. The R11 is just as long and SO much more forgiving than the i15, and I haven't caved the face in like I did the i15.
i think its not intended to be a club where you keep changing though. The various changes can give you extra distance and shape. Even the pros have different settings which will aid them. there are pro's being fitted with this club and you cn see how each time they make a change it makes a diff to their distance.
Titleist and Taylormade are both selling their products with the same promise between the White and Black contrast (Taylormade) and the full black (Titleist). I currently have the original Burner and I'm testing some drivers very soon. I am put off by all the adjustments on the R11 and Im not a fan of the new burner. Do you prefer the Titleist D2 or the R11?
@DjTiram when i hit it, it didnt feel solid there was just too much going no, i think the white kills the driver, ive been hitting taylormade drivers since the r5 this was just a bit to much
Just shut the fuck up and hit the goddamn ball, son.
