I loved this beach, had to agree to go shopping with the wife once a week in order to get my beach pass. Ther'e nothing better than making a big roostertail and actually looking down at the people on the beach, when the waves were breaking far enough out (but not the way out giants) you could get some long rides. It's been almost 40 years and it looks exactly the same.
Aloha: Mahalo a nui loa for the great vid. Extremely informative and descriptive in all narration. Kailua was the spot for me and my 7 year old though. It was gentle enough for him to learn how to boogeyboard Hoping to get him to Makapuu at one point. Unfortunately, we left before his "pro form" was fully developed. We did spend one day at Makapuu just watching and the danger level, you are correct, was multiplied. Unfortunately, I now am singing "Waiminalo blues" and "Honolulu City Lights"....
