I just remembered this band today, and haven't heard them since 1998 or so. Holy shit.. I didn't remember them sounding this bad. Everyone else here is clearly loving it, so maybe it's just me but I can't get around his voice and lack of talent. Not to mention that their mannerism don't do them favors like the half-assed horns gesture at 2:52 for example. I'm amazed they had much of a career, but hey congrats.

@lickapotato Musical talent is subjective, so if you already like this band I doubt I could point you to someone who impresses you more. I was just very disappointed because I remembered them being so much better than this. It's just funny how I've spent countless hours defending artists I like, then I saw this and I became the bad guy (because my comment is buried) because I dislike it. Nothing wrong with that though. I like lots of music from Tracy Chapman to They Might Be Giants. It varies :P

@miserabliss I disagree, I don't believe that talent is subjective. Whether you like an artist is completely based on your experiences; however, that doesn't change their amount of talent. All three of them are completely competent at their instruments. Its funny too just rediscovered this band but I thought the opposite of you. I was actually amazed at the brilliance of their song writing.

I assume our definitons of musical talent are quite different, which is why I called it subjective. A lot of this song is talky parts, and his voice alone just grinds on my nerves, which it didn't back when I first heard him long ago.

I think we're having different experiences here. I don't hate the band, I just searched all around for them and was disappointed with what I found.
