@Shanongao The first human cannonballs used a platform attached to a spring, the spring would propel you to the air. Now I think they use compressed air to push the platform, the sound of firing and the small sparks at the top are only for style. ;)

+ When the human cannonball guy sees the net he would try and fall into it.

Too much powder, could blow your ass up, and if you manage to launch, you could go too far too fast that anywhere you hit could cause a serious injury, even on something soft.
