  • But in all seriousness...The true riches are from within.. Not without..

  • I wonder how he passed away.. He was close to becoming a master in this life.. Full pun intended..

  • I worked with a guy once who said "I'm done letting other people define what success means." It's true- money doesn't mean shit. Evan realized it. It doesn't lead to happiness, beyond being able to feed yourself and have shelter, and maybe a very few things. Too bad this guy is gone. Really, really sad. If anyone reading this hasn't heard of the late comedian Bill Hicks, it's the same kind of stuff. Same message. Check it out.

  • unfortunately people in this world would rather listen to what (insert name of celebrity) has to say on how to become successful and make lots of money and that is the way to happiness and fulfilment. well the world needs more evan tanners. i guess the sayings true, the good die young

  • @cromptonia

that is true. the thing is, that most people think that having lots of money is what makes one successful. its sad but money seems to be the motivation of most people. thats not what life is about. people that speak the truth usually die young because the world cant stand people that are different. people like tanner have the ability to change the world and make it a better place. the crazy thing about it is that the people with the most money are never remembered lol

  • @samjs721 what makes one successful then?

  • @EliazaRo15

it depends on your definition.....but my definition is, reaching a point in a lifetime where you fully understand who you are and what your purpose in this life is. tanner understood it...

  • comming up on 3 yrs still cant believe he is gone

  • Evan was NOT searching for god or for any believe. The saying is for everyone else, people that read it. It just means, if you want to do something, if something is important to you. Just do it. You can do it. You have the power to change the way the future is

  • He sounds like someone not especially articulate trying to explain something he learned after an experience of eating some Psilocybin mushrooms.

  • @namoroman666 shut up with your nonsense BITCH

  • @namoroman666

    idiot

  • It is clear that Evan Tanner was searching for God. I just hope he found the Lord.

  • @krayziejerry believe in the power of one is not searching for god. he believes in himself

  • @krayziejerry i hope so too he was awsome!

  • Came across this video after watching some Joe Rogan and Eddie Bravo videos. This video and what Evan says in this video really speak to me and you can tell he is speaking from the heart and the truth. This guy is really intelligent and I get what he is saying in this video. Inspirational and profound. I got mad respect for this guy.

  • Your message was herd. and may you R.I.P.

  • an amazing man

  • Evan tanner, infinite respect for you. Your views on life are in my opinion, 100% correct. You did it. Your voice was heard.

  • unbelievable. If only I could see what this man sees.

  • he was one of the guys who figured out life. wants lead to problems. keep things natural, simple, love everyone and only focus on what you need

  • The greatest thing is coming up . . . . . .this is wt we all feel some time and i think this is when you will be standing infront of God tellin him wt u did in ur life . . . . th day of judgement . . . .

  • Dose anyone know if he smoked weed or took drugs? I'm not trying to be funny just he seems a very deep thinker sounds like he had a vision of what his life was to be. A lot of ex drug users and alcoholics have these sort of things going on. Like I said not being a dick think he was a great guy just interested in how he got to where his mind was.

  • my coach told me he was an alcoholic at one point but stopped, you could be seeing that

  • @slony6969 I believe he faught with alcoholism. I also think he faught with depression, but I'm not really sure. I think it's like that with a lot of great minds to be honest.

  • tanner speaks the truth.

  • Great guy. And even better person! Rip ev'n.t

  • 4+ people dislike using their brains..

  • lambos r kewl

  • here's a man that lived his life with his eyes wide open, I'll be lucky to even become half the man he was. every shallow self centered person out there needs to watch these two vids.

    keep evans message alive!!!!!!!!!

  • Real talk

  • is there a part 3, and 4, and 5. i want more

  • I love Evan Tanner he was a great fighter and a good man. He was right about the importance of man loving mankind but to believe the we as a man are powerful beings we will be proven wrong every time...R.I.P

  • Thanks for the upload

  • insprational fighter 1 of the main reasons i got into mma was his warrior spirit, this is a flip side to evan. seems to share a lot of morals and values with Mark "Mask" Lewis, 2 great men and revolutionaries of this great sport gone too soon R.I.P.

  • ...i'm in the process of fixing the audio on this video. will post later...

  • Rip evan i wish you could expressed yourself the way you wanted. words can't express the feeling this man had insside himself

  • RIP Evan... Id really love to sit down with you and listen to what you have to share with the world.

  • He acts and looks like viggo mortenson on The Road

  • it doesnt matter what you can say about this guy, whether you like him or not, evan was and will be remembered as a hero in the mma business, he was always completely honest with everyone he met, and when he decided to turn his life around, alot of people were there for him, im so glad i got to meet this amazing person before he died, RIP Evan , F all the haters

  • its frustrates me that this video has only half the views as the first one!!

  • I don't know why but he reminds me so much of Elliott Smith.

  • He saw the things that not a lot of people see.. and by doing interviews like this and just trying to spread the word you can really help people see it as well... i see it in a few other people too it's a good thing

  • l "As long as the message is heard. The motivation behind it is not so important as the message itself" Hearing this causes me to think about the circumstances of his death. As sad as it is that he passed, it did help get these words out to a larger audience. Before I learned about his death I had no idea who he was and what he had to say. Maybe it's a loose connection but it makes sense to me.

  • @Creepo85 I have to agree to a point, Joe Rogan posted these right after his passing with an article about there friendship, This has stuck with me for all this time, I sometimes re watch these, and it helps me with myself, it saddens me a bit.. Its for a good cause tho.. I myself will never forget his words.

  • @cardicianman1 your sick in the fucking head you piece of shit. no1 will remember you faggot. p.s you wouldn't be found for the shier fact your fat fucking ass is never out your mom's house. your fucked when she die's buddy because its already hard to get a job, but fat 45 year olds with no references, your definitely fucked

  • Evan Tanner was a ufc world champion , to a large extent self taught.he was a warrior and truely inspirational as a fighter and human.he will be sorely missed and always remembered.

  • i'd bet anything that hes done acid and/or DMT

  • @Devon187 u dont have to do acid or dmt to be enlightened, i think he just picked up a book or two and isolated himself enough to gain a true understanding of the world without the outside influence of society

  • @chriswingateboxing yea but too me... ive been spiritual and educated when it comes to this stuff i guess, and to me... NOBODY can really say they know it, know perception, until you've tooken acid... total perception change and nobody too me TRUELY knows too much imo without taking acid :), just like an MMA critic can say all the fucken shit he wants but to me he doesn't know much until hes stepped into the ring :D

  • @chriswingateboxing i think your about half right. yes you don't need drugs to see thing the right way but you don't need books either. i think he just went and experienced things and learned from it

  • Guys dont give FTW the attetion he's looking for

  • wish i woulda meet him he's so deep this dead ass made me cry R.I.P

  • sucks to lose a guy who was an insparation to alot of ppl and was always

there to support others... for those who had the chance to meet him hopefully will pass on a lil of what you got from him

  • Talk about an amazing person . .

  • Love you buddy. Take Care

    RIP Evan Tanner

  • this guy is a hero.

  • its remarkabe the ideals, beliefs and how similiar his personality is to chris mccandless off into the wild, both dying in relitavely similiar circumstances. such deep and emotionally connected people like evan are so rare and will be sorely missed.

  • This was a man amongst men and I don;t mean man gender wise as in he was tough; no, he was a Man as all men should be. I mean i didn't know him or wat he was like but listenig to hin i;m sure of this.

  • Comment removed

  • rip you were a visionary

  • You will be missed Evan, your big thing is yet to come, The world lost one of the good guys when you left, I hope your still on your journey somewhere else man.

  • Scott Kelly (singer/guitarist for Neurosis) pays a tribute to Evan in his blog.

google and type "we burn through the night", it should be the first link.

  • @justinbenson6

    I will do mate, thanks.

I'll come back after i look

  • I never knew Evan, but he seems like a really enlightened dude. RIP

  • I miss you Evan. I'll never forget.

  • I miss evan

  • Thank god someone sees the real deal. Not only me. I thought I was going crazy. Please listen to Evan ! The most truth you will ever hear.

  • your not going crazy your just much deeper than most people

  • cant believe its been over a year. rest in peace Evan

  • Descanse em paz Evan.

  • RIP a sad anniversary

  • he was a hell of a fighter... ask phil baroni

  • wow.........powerful stuff man..

  • thank you Evan.

  • I cannot ever use words to properly convey the level of thanks I feel for the work you have done with this video, Evan, I hope that I can one day sit next to you, and thank you, for instilling inspiration within me. "kindness and understanding for our fellow humans". Rest in peace evan, you will be missed, but NEVER forgotten.

  • @lordpenalshaft Lets all take a lesson from this man. When others are picking on someone because he or she is...gay or fat or skinny or short or christian or hindu or muslim or chinese or black or white or latino or native or whatever. Lets bend down, reach out a hand and help that person up. Be it on the internet, in a club, at work, on the way to work. I just watched this video for the first time and it blew me away that there are others out there with kind hearts. It takes the most strength.

  • @blackelk7373 I cannot agree with you more my brother. Let us all live with our eyes open and our hearts set on helping one another, and maybe one day our descendants will speak fondly on our existance.

  • Such an inspiration.

  • what a great message, he was needed elsewhere, it's obvious to that. RIP

  • what a cool guy, such a bummer...RIP

  • Evan makes a lot of sense. rip.

  • i hope he found his purpose out in that desert...good man...good fighter...we're gonna miss you...rest in peace

  • Thanks for putting this video on here and getting Evans message out there. He was a very enlightened person who a great number of people including myself have gotten a great deal from. See you soon Evan!

  • Evan Tanner was a man decades ahead of his time. RIP

  • how did he die?

  • k never mind i wikipedia'ed it and that is really shitty how it happened

  • few have an understanding like he did

  • ahmen to a great humun being, long live evan tanner

  • Everyone has a place in this world and are needed by someone, you have to find your place.... find it by yourself.... dont listern to others.... if it feels right... then it is.

Wise words by Evan... he was a good guy... RIP.

  • he came back to ufc and lost to 2 top guys ,said he abused his body, thats why he lost. abused how.? i remember and respect him . he was good. but what a strange way 2 go.what would he have done if he got his ufc title back?

  • Abused his body because Even fought alcoholism his whole life. Thats what he was talking about when he said abused his body. He was a great guy though, we all fight demons, Even fought his as well.

  • don't ever take this down, please

  • why did such a great person have to die :(

  • :-(

He will be in my Hall of fame forever

  • I have so much respect for Evan Tanner, it's very unfortunate that there are people who are so shallow like cardicianman1 who show absolutely no respect or sympothy for someones passing.

  • he,he...anytime buddy...

  • Yeah, you just show that there are still some very sick people out in the world.....I feel bad for you.

  • what the fuck is wrong with you? do you have any idea how much reach his friends have?

  • Fuck You!

  • Very interesting to hear his philosophy. He seems like a bit of a lost soul, poor chap. RIP.

  • I respect Tanner. But if people did not learn engineering he would not be able to sky dive. If people all had fun we would have no medicine or food. Don't get me wrong I really respect Tanner. But he does contradict himself, and I am sure he would be happy to debate these principles.

    RIP Evan

  • Don't you think the person that discovered penicillin felt purpose? What was he thinking after all, when he put that slice of orange in the container and found out that germs didn't grow on the mold? And what about the imagination that the people that invented sky diving had? "Imagination is more important than knowledge"- Albert E.

  • @royston123 ...NO he's not contadciting himself. Science (what you're talking about with medicine and engineering) has made life more comforable, increased life expectancy/survival rates, & given us more leisure. But are people any more satisfied with their lives do you think??? Is there still war, people starving to death, terrible crime?? YES. Science and technological advances are obviously not the answer. Its about the state of mind of people. I think this is what Evan is talking about bro.

  • this world needs more people like evan tanner,i wish i had met him evan tanner r.i.p

  • Shame on you.

  • to bad it tolk his death for me to hear about tanner

  • you kids are fucking jokes. Evan Tanner is one of the few decent human beings to have lived. He passed away looking for something that no one else has the balls to look for, the real purpose of life.

  • well said.

  • his death bolstered his ideas. I think he would be content with his death. He fought in UFC to get his vioce heard. Now he died, and his voice is definitely being heard.

  • STFU you piece of low life, it's scum like you that polute this world. There is no need to be disrespectful like that to a person who passed away.

As far as I am concerned he has achieved much more as a person than you ever will. Eventhough I never met hem personally, I can tell that he is a trully great person. Though he made mistakes in his life, it is learning from these mistakes that count.

  • the comment is directed towards cardicianman btw

  • cardicianman = scum of the earth

Crawl back under your rock, cretin !

    R.I.P. Evan

  • Carddicianman.....u cant be serious with that trash u wrote.... Even Tanner was a champion and a good person. Big deal is he had problems. Everyone does.

  • cardicanman, I got a solver it's name is revolver!!!! Dont make me use it. Faggot!!

  • He didn't sound like a guy who tried to hide his past. He sounded like someone who acknowledged the mistakes he made, and made it part of his goal in life to help others not make the same mistakes. I don't care how bad he fucked up in life, he's many times more of a man that some dipshit who smack talks a dead guy in a youtube forum. Maybe you should tell everyone a little bit about yourself and who you are so we can judge whether you're a useless little fucking pussy or not.

  • So what if he was a drug addict alcoholic you must be so perfect that you have never messed up in your life. Im also guessing that you have no idea what drugs and alcohol do to people, do you think people wake up and think "i know i'll fuck my life up with drink and drugs" No it happens shit happens. Atleast he was strong enough to turn his life around and try and make a difference. You are fuktard

  • How can you be so mean? He was an amazing person!

  • Would you like that shit to happen to you???? I guessed not...

  • what is wrong with you, honestly, do you just have no respect? no honor? oh wait, I got it, you got no balls, your behind a computer screen so you can say whatever you want, I see... good job no balls, try saying that to someones face

  • @cardicianman haha dude... you sound like a Grade "A" Psycho. Sounds like YOU'VE got some searching to do. Nobody's perfect.... R.I.P. TANNER.

  • that's hilarious that you end your post with "God bless." the irony of you forsaking someone who strives to live such a christ-like life is almost satisfying until i remember that you're probably so ignorant that you are beyond help

  • RIP Evan Tanner.

  • This man speaks the truth. We watch MTV Cribs and we all want the material stuff they have, but is that the goal of a succesful life? I never tought about it, but those things are indeed worthles if you where the only man on earth, with no one to share it with or show off your goods to. His conclusion that good interactions, understanding and caring for eachother are the greatest goals one can achief in life, is the truth. All the rest is superficial...

    RIP dude

  • Evan was put here for a reason.

  • Very few people get it. Isn't that the truth.

  • a true sole surfer.

  • Everything Evan has said, especailly in the begin of this video is SPOT ON! RIP Evan, im confident you have found true happiness in the afterlife whatever that may be =)

  • I think Genki Sudo and Evan would have had plenty to talk about if they'd met. R.I.P. Evan

  • hes gave me a new way to live life. do what you believe and try the hardest at it and with that change the world. R.I.P Evan Tanner.

  • Evan: Your words have been heard. R.I.P.

  • I hear you man

I hope you found you destiny out there

    you wil be missed

  • : (

    RIP

  • I was never a huge Tanner fan, but I've always had respect for him. The thing that I respect most about Tanner is that he practiced what he preached. After hearing many personal stories from people who knew Tanner, I know that he was a genuine human being who would help anyone that asked. I feel honored that I got to watch Tanner win the belt, and I watched his final fight. RIP Evan Tanner.

  • Evan Tanner was always one of my favorite fighters in the all the years ive watched ufc. After his death, i knew i would remember him as a great fighter, and after this video i will remember him as a great human being. Truly inspirational words that should be passed on to all of humanity, rest in peace brother.

  • His beliefs alone... what an inspiration. I am truly inspired, that is no lie. I said it already in the 1st part, and Ill say it again... Rest easy friend...

  • Evan said that so few people "get it" and that is sadly true. The majority of society is caught up in superficial wealth and self gratification. We should have more compassion for one another and always give unconditionally. Evan is a true man with a beautiful soul. Hopefully he has and will inspire more people to be more insightful and encourage them to find themselves. He had the courage to let go of the superficial social norms and face the truth. Courage, compassion, freedom and truth.

  • Will miss his fights and his blogs. His spirit touched so many. Such a loss :-(

  • such a loss?such a gain...no one would be listening to this and hopefully changing their life in a goodway if he wasnt gone

  • THANK YOU for posting this video! It's going on my ipod to remind me on a regular basis what is important.

  • Divine. That's what Evan Tanner was.He was just too good in everything in life to belong here on earth.

  • In some ways Evan dying may get his message out in ways he could have never dreamed. Bless his spirit.

  • barbabudski: To live on, while you depart is the meaning of life. Ex: He continues to live on in his teaching, in the hearts of his fans, people newly exposed to his philosophy, etc.

Evan is the perfect example of the power of one. In this world money technically owns everyone, but no one admits it. To disown one's self from that and find the truth is "continuous" as Evan said it takes courage. Only courageous men like Evan can do it and they come once in blue moon.

  • what a genius, and we owe it too him and all of humanity to stand up and speak the truth on "what matters"dont be scared ,were fighters, we will win with our minds, so now is the time to stand up for truth!!

  • CANT WAIT TO GET A EVAN TANNER T-SHIRT I GOTTA SUPPORT HIM. R.I.P EVAN TANNER GONNA REAllY MISS YA MAN!

  • we need more people like you thank you evan tanner you are a GREAT MAN RIP

  • What a smart man!!!

He is a role model to people who have a brain.

People who do not understand him, I just feel sorry.

Damm Andy Hug and Evan are for sure having a good time up there.

All my humble respect to this great man!!!

  • Inspiring stuff! it wasn't his time to go, the world is an uglier place without him... R.I.P

  • If we were all as " in touch " as Evan was, it would be a better world!! RIP Evan, you will be missed, someday we will all ride together brother!!

  • a true man .A TRUE MAN.

  • How ironic that you take a quote which has nothing to do with being lost physically and turn it into a ridiculously stupid and disrespectful comment.

  • You full-on DON'T understand what he was on about then. I love irony, but having listened to what this guy has had to say, he's so right, so leave your uneducated shit-for-irony elsewhere and go watch Sesame Street. :D.

  • Beautiful mind, beautiful person inside, shame his voice couldn't be heard world wide. People like Evan are a true breed, true human being, one with nature, wants to fight and rebel against this disgusting money making system we've been forced into. We need to break out or we will be extinct and the ants will take over as king specie on the planet.

  • great

  • Alot of people really do not understand anything about life. how can someone listen to this interview and think he is crazy? theres something wrong with humanity when someone great like that passes away and a horde of stupid wastes of flesh keep living. humanity is just decaying. the human species is de-evolving. its 100% certain that the fate of the dinosaurs awates us. i just wish i could see the next species that will take over. maybe the rats who knows.

  • Why don't you heed some of Even Tanner's words and be more kind and understanding to human beings.

  • YOURE A FUCKING FAGGOT. you should have died not him. hes crazy???? no. he is just a superior human being to you. your life is nothing. he was something. realise that because its true LOSER

  • relax

  • Blobilla, meet me out in the desert.

  • hang on now, tpinbc has a point, Evan Tanner was crazy... but it takes the truly crazy people to make the most sense, I mean come on, look at Jesus, people called him crazy, yet he has managed to show people like Tanner what life is all about.

  • Thats exactly right

I don't find him as crazy, i think the guy just hammers into us that we need to find what makes us happy with life, not what society tells us what will make us happy.

  • I dont know why you say that.....Hes just a guy that loved going out and adventuring, loved going out and exploring the world. Man I think thats fucking awesome. He died doing what he loved at least....Im gonna miss watching this guy fight man, hes a true warrior, if you want to see his toughness on display go watch Tanner Vs Baroni I, Or Tanner vs Franklin II. Dude was awesome and Im gonna miss him.

    R.I.P Evan Tanner 1971 - 2008
