@mehico33 No disrespect to the Turks but you had good German generals plus the Allied attack on gallipoli was a total farce, poorly planned by ignorant Brits
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
They all died in vain, Vietnam is now a lovely holiday destnation, Gaillipoli and Iraq were disaster wars with heavy losses and no gain, military or politically.
@sinama50 I noticed your profile says you ar ein Australia but your choice of video favs suggests you might not be Aussie born and bred. Perhaps you don't fully understand what Gallipoli did for Australia. It had a profound impact on our psyche as a nation. It showed us all that we are truly brave, able to hold our heads high and forged our belief in mateship and a fair go. As for the other wars, you can't predict what might have happened had we not gone to war. Left unchecked, the north viets
Sorry, but nation building can never be a reason to go to war. Australia use its war efforts to bond this nation, disaster wars and heavy loses are today celebrated as if they were victorious. Children are brainwashed into believing ect.... I believe ANZAC Day should be limited to a sober commemoration service and not into celebration type of street party for drunks and gamblers...it is the last thing this country needs, ANZAC Day may become irrelevant.
@sinama50 might have taken over a number of their neighbours and changed the face of southeast asia. Sure they won the war, but at a heavy enough toll that they couldn't continue any further past the border. For you to suggest that the endpoint would be the same despite the outcome is naive.
actually sound travells further underwater so i bet i could too,.. i cant believe your 58 years old with the way your bickering like a child...i came on here to honour the anzacs not to argue on the Jerry Springer show. u need to grow up
INXS52 you cant blame the players whether they are Australians or New Zealanders. The players are simply at the lowest end of the conspiracy. if anyone should be held accountable its those buisnessmen who concieved the idea and reaped the real rewards while sitting in their corporate boxes drinking the finest wines while the players put their bodies on the line to earn the win. Somewhat similar to the soldiers who fought for us both that we call ANZACS
that includes the Brittish and the Americans. those of you that blame the Brittish also need to wake up. A large proportion of your heritage and ancestory in New Zealand and Australia is brittish and none of you have a problem claiming that ancestory when it provides you with a brittish passport for your big overseas trip to the U.K..
THANKYOU TO THE LAST OF THE HEROES...THE ANZACS.....these guys are a different breed form the idiots thate are making the selfish, childish over-educated by the Dr Phill Show comments in here.. When the english had run out of strength and my mate could hardly stand from fighting hand to hand combat he look to see the aussies and he could not see them untill he seen them already atop thier hill already drinking beers.
When the english got the guts they did the same but it went click click click instead of simultainously. The english then charged the japs down the hill.
The english looked at the a aussie hill and the aussies were in formation and had at the exact same time clicked thier bayonettes on and then they let out a blood curldling cry and charged the japs down the hill.

@inxs52 its quite obvious why your in here.. its certainly not to spread the message of peace which is partly what anzac day is about.. you need to retreat back to your cradle and cry there because thats all you have done in here is cry like a widdle baby.. seems to me that you are the only one with the inferiority complex given your complete lack of brainpower and colplete lack of ability to read into anything with a positive attitude

Fact is - those ANZAC boys were just made of different stuff, compared to our generation. Plain and simple. They weren't for themselves - but (more importantly) they were for the mates at their sides... that's but almost, lost, in this day.
Hats off, to those brave Aussies, and our Kiwi brothers/sisters over the pond.
Could not say it better myself. My grandfather was in WW1 - then lied about his age to be in WW2. While my own father was flying Mosquitos in Europe in WW2 who also lied about his age, his own father was taken pow in Japan and beheaded while my own father had no idea. My father's older brother also fought in WW2 and his younger brother served in Vietnam and Korea. My father passed the day before Anzac day nearly nine years ago. Lest we forget.
@FullstopGames Obviously they chose to go you stupid prick.
Both Australia and NZ had a volunteer army, instead of posting mindless dribble spend some time and educate yourself, also while your at it show some respect you stupid little tosser, go fck yourself.
@FullstopGames during world war two all males over the age of 18 were called up, some did volunteer but most were conscripted. Your comment is rather vulgar seeing you live in Australia even if you are not australian by birth, you should be disgusted by your own comments. If not for the bravery of those young men and they were younger than you are now you would not have the freedom and life you now enjoy. Show some respect
Even though I am asian and australia is not my country but i live there and loves it and really appreciate what these people did because they put there life into protecting this beautiful country. Lest we forget. Good on you legend
the rest of the world take note this is a true legend and inspiration to us all and one damb fine australian hats of to you and all the fallen diggers across all the conflicts we have been thrown into you make me proud to be australian and to all the people who are writing disrespectful coments plz not today this is australias day to remember our fore fathers and the aussie spirit that makes us better and stronger THEN YOU ....... AUSSIE ......AUSSIE.......AUSSIE
@MuffiiinMan Show some respect, these people gave their lives for their country, not to make war but to protect what they hold dear. The celebration isn't for "the killing of people" but the bravery of those who gave up their lives for the country and people they love, it's about honor and respect, we're not actually celebrating the killing of people, rather "the saving of people" if that makes any sense.
Hey, dickhead. How about you get FUCKED, you lowlife scum. Pussies like you make me disgusted to know I actually breathe the same air as a worthless peice of trash like yourself. Harsh, but that's how it is. You are a disgrace.
@MuffiiinMan Um, lets try REMEMBERING, not celebrating. Well, the country you're from can celebrate the deaths of the brave Australians and New Zealanders who died, but as far as I know, the Australians and Kiwis won't.
We might battle with you funny speaking NZ'ers on the sporting field, but never will we forget or stop respecting your great countries honourable friendship and heroic deeds when it counted most. In the heat of battle united we will always stand, be proud just like us New Zealand. "LEST WE FORGET" Long live the ANZAC spirit.
A great big Cheerio, and a Happy Anzac Day 2010, to all of our Zew Zealand brothers & sisters in arms. Our two nations, Oz & NZ, are close neighbours .. each is 'just across the water' from the other. In the modern era, perhaps now more than ever before, our two countries stand united in kinship, comradeship, and similarity of lifestyle & value-systems. We both hold dear the liberties & privileges which have been so hard-fought for, repeatedly, over many decades.
@frankchau9848 why do you say that, the japs were on our door steps, without the Anzac's we would be speeking japanese now ,& Without the british you would be doing the goose step, and what a shit of a world with the germans & japs as your masters, open your eyes you retard,
THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU to all those who served, and gave much - their very lives all too often, so that we may live in freedom, and speak freely, regardless of disagreements. For myself, ANZAC day is the most important day of the year, and Im proud to be a New Zealander. So again, THANKYOU and all my gratitude to all the brave men and women - WE WILL NOT FORGET!!!!!
Ask the english why so many allied perished in ww2. God bless the blokes and gals who gave there lives to give us our way of life and what we are chatting on this medium today, god burn the fail english high ranked that gave pathetic instructions for a heavy loss of numbers with useless tactics, stick to tetley you pack of cats.
@jedigman they shed thier blood and lost their lives defending the fredom u enjoy 2day u self centered prick, how dare u disrespect the sacrifice of those heroes who insured u live the life u live 2day.
Kia Ora to you all as serving oficer in the NZ Army I am proud to parade every ANZAC Day no matter where I am in the world Ill always commerate this day I had a grandfather die during the battle of crete he served with the Maoei Battalion and my dads father lost a brother in the Battle of Britain I am proud to carry on my family tradition of serving in the military.
Poor dumb bastards drawn into fighting Turkey because it wouldn't supply Britain with any more opium to sell in China. Ironically the opium poppy is now the emblem of remembrance.
As Jack London wrote: your lowest aim in life is to become a soldier. They didn't know why then, and they still haven't understood the real reason for the war. Britain was a drug pusher turning Chinese into addicts. LOL
" Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives...! You are now lying in the soul of a friendly country, therefore rest in peace. There is no differences between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country of ours... You, the mothers who sent their sons from far away countries wipe away your tears. Your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well." ATATURK, (1934).
@ThisisToTellUiHateU defending their families from what? A nuclea bomb wiping out a whole city saved their family. A hero is some1 who does good, people who cause greif, pain and murder are NOT heros
doesn't matter who financed it bro, it came down to good vs evil, right vs wrong, freedom vs tyranny and oppression. The initial war was started by germany and britain/france declared war to protect democracy and freedom. sure we dont live in complete freedom, but we don't live in complete communism either, so show some respect for the millions of men around the world who valiantly lost their lives for the idea that you, me and all free countries could stay that way.
primal111 : "War is wrong and allways will be this is a day of shame lest we forget"
A war against tyranny in defense of freedom is NOT wrong you naive fool. Should every nation have surrended to fascism?
It is anything BUT a day of shame. Shame on you! Australian and New Zealand troops in both world wars deserve endless praise. You would not have the freedom to spout your nonsense if not for their sacrifice.
Hello Robert John McHume (I hope I spelled that right)
God Bless You. My Father John Patrick Hogan was at Pearl Harbor and was on the Ship USS Sumner that shot down the first Japanese Plane. His Brother Danny was killed on the Island Ie Shima, by a Japanese Sniper weeks before the War ended. I served 6 Years in the Military, and I have the highest respect for the Australians, and as an Irsh/German American I am Proud to call you my brothers.
Just been to a dawn service memorial, and have recently been to the bay that the ANZAC's landed on and saw the rough terrain these soldiers fought in. Remember them for they fought for us, the future and the way of life we have today.
don't worry australia and new zeland will connect togther in a 100,000years

XxXTommo69 1 year ago
@MuffiiinMan Um, lets try REMEMBERING, not celebrating. Well, the country you're from can celebrate the deaths of the brave Australians and New Zealanders who died, but as far as I know, the Australians and Kiwis won't.
You're the fucking stupid one.

@MuffiiinMan. haha you're a stupid individual. You wouldnt say any of this to any serving members face. You're a gutless piece of shit.

For myself, ANZAC day is the most important day of the year, and Im proud to be a New Zealander. So again, THANKYOU and all my gratitude to all the brave men and women - WE WILL NOT FORGET!!!!!

LOL

ThisisToTellUiHateU 1 year ago
@ThisisToTellUiHateU defending their families from what? A nuclea bomb wiping out a whole city saved their family. A hero is some1 who does good, people who cause greif, pain and murder are NOT heros

@lvluz yup, and who do the army serve?
a while ago i didnt care about the army, but then i saw stuff.... and i changed my mind greatly
Addman711 1 year ago
doesn't matter who financed it bro, it came down to good vs evil, right vs wrong, freedom vs tyranny and oppression.

Yours in Jesus Christ,Peter
