The most controversial World cup...SL played very well. But the cup could have been India's, if the Security threat from Pakistan was not there. Also SL was qualified to the knock out round with out having to play a couple of matches, Bcoz of the security threat. They had Luck on their side.

Murali looks like a college going kid at 6.07. I loved that Sri Lankan team esp Arjuna, Sanath, Arvinda and Roshan. 3-4 years ago, had a chance to shake hand with Arjuna in Mumbai. Such a nice humble man.

I am from Pakistan, but i have great respect for Srilankan people, and i would love to see ur team playing again in Pakistan...Because u hv some history... U won the 1996 WC in Lahore, Gaddafi stadium.... but in 2009 u were attacked , but i am sure u will tour again and i will come to the ground and will support both teams....

well if it makes any difference the 1996 WC was an amazing event the 1 game I truly remember was the india beating pak in the quaterfinals and then the heart breaking loss to the eventual champions sri lanka... 2 months later I moved to america....This Wc will always have a special place in my heart as even though India crashed out,this was the last time me and my family sat together to watch a WC final.

@chutterimaaki I admit, it wasn't easy accepting SL's loss yesterday. Especially due to the fact that we came so close to winning the WC in 2007 as well. But India played beautifully yesterday and they deserve full credit for their performance. There's always a next time for SL. I'm still really proud of my country and our team.
