@KJG123456 Hi I had a yani 992 tenor and sold it for a Yamaha 82Z The horn is much freer blowing and as far as darkness of the sound I found it no less than the 992 also prefer the yamaha spatula more now as well...cheers
Pro player after player are trading in Custom Z's, Ref 54,s Sa80 III, you name it, for a CE Winds Omega.. real players who travel the world playing and in studios.. they said it not me!
Not to rain on the CE parade, but obviously a CEwindsSaxes youtube name refers to the company they work for, so it's going to be bias. You should play test any horn you want to buy.
I assure you, this is due to the microphone being used, After playing this very shoot, John Michalak, the player in the video, said, "this plays and sounds as good as any mark vi i have ever played. If you know John, you know how much of a compliment this was.. he is not only a super great guy, but one of the up and coming sax players in the industry.. garranteed he will win a Grammy this year in latin jazz! watch and see.
Personally I prefer CE Winds Omegas, the best sounding saxes if you are looking for that dark, warm sound.. Yamahas are nice but seem stuffy to me. and I would not spend the money on a Jupiter.. I am sure they are good but I have a hard time thinking of Jupiter as anything beyond a student sax.. maybe just a mental thing..
Hi, I really like the sound of the silver shocka. I've got a question tho. What is the tip opening of the mouthpiece you played in this particular video here?
either a size 7 or 8, i go back and forth between the two, i usually leave one at home and one at church.. but I am pretty sure this was the 7 with a 2.5 v16
If you are looking for a deeper tone then check out a CE WInds Omega classic vintage or dark vintage. All the CE WInds Omegas have a darker tone than your average sax but the classic vintage and dark vintage are more darker.
Look into the Selmer Henri Paris Series II or III professional models, or the Yamaha 62 Series II professional tenor sax. (That's what I am going to get.) The custom z is a good series though.
What the freak are you talking about? First of all, the Selmer Series II and III saxes are some of the best you can buy and they are the BEST for jazz. Second, they dont even make the original Yamaha 62 anymore.
I had a keilworth series 2 and upgraded to a new lacquered 82z (tenors that is) and it was the best thing I ever did

Would it be too much trouble to ask for what the notes are for the licks at the end with the Cewinds alto? it sounds amazing.

Nice playing...honestly I think the 82z and the ex are no match to the 62 just my opinion(gold laquered yts62 owner with Selmer s80 mouthpiece)

The tenor sounds OK. The alto sounds like a mosquito in heat.

this ce winds alto sounds like that plastic sax parker used to play. I hear a kazooish quality to this horn. I'd stay away.

Wow, nicely done. I have a custom 82z unlacquered. Using a leBayle mpc right now, but wouldn't mind looking into this one. Need a deeper tone.

i was thinkin about gettin the custom z series. is it worth it? if not which other horns should i look into? (i play tenor)

i wouldn't get the series 2 or 3 selmers unless you seriously like classical non jazz things
and the 62-2 is not as good as the original 62
and the yanagisawa is like the better version of a 62 with a better sound and alot better intonation
