how about not thinking about left and right separately but rather thing of them as one?

like when you do ( examlpe) d,e,c on the right and you do a,e,a on the other you think 'd+a e+e and c+a'.. it really helped me in playing! try it out!

I think you should learn the keys for both hands together, even in a slow pace. If you seperate the keys for the left and right hand, it may be hard to synchronize the notes when you play the full piece.
