  • another day in paradise is when you dont fuckup

  • I'd own the damned road if I had a crane as my personal vehicle... Parking would be impossible, though. :P

  • looks like somebody unlocked the suspension

  • This appears to have happened during the setup of the machine as 1) the counterweights are not attached and 2) the outriggers are not extended to stabilize the crane.

It is a great reminder to operators. Judging from the proximity of the truck and crane, the roadway was clearly not wide enough to allow for safe setup, and likely, as a contributing factor, influenced the decision to set up without extending outriggers.

  • it could have been a lot better you could have been hurt.....2M views then

  • Are those broken sheaves plastic?

  • Nobody died, still a good day.

  • There's a swing shovel and a JCB (backhoe US) in the video. Surely those two machines could get the crane back up again. At the end of the day its all about the ton-metres but some people can't do the maths. In the "good old days" cranes had alarm bells to warn when the cranes limit was approaching. First bell you get worried, second bell you get really worried! Maybe modern cranes don't have bells as this saves money LOL!

  • @techdavey1000 In the "good old days" cranes had alarm bells to warn when the cranes limit was approaching. First bell you get worried, second bell you get really worried! Maybe modern cranes don't have bells as this saves money LOL!..... Maybe you can help me. I notice you speak of the good ole days, could you tell me how they built the pyramids of Egypt?

  • @billwho62 They had thousands and thousands of slaves and they rolled the stone blocks on rollers up inclined planes. Even today there are some quarries where cunning methods are used to extract and move the stones. In the Middle Ages in Europe there were cranes worked by treadmills but in Egypt temporary sand ramps were often used to raise heavy objects. After the stones were in place the sand was removed. Do not overlook the fact that they also had horses, oxen and probably elephants.

  • @techdavey1000 ..... Sorry, but I have to disagree. OSHA would have never tolerated the use of horse, oxe or even elephants to build the pyramids.

  • der hatte keine Stützen ausgefahren.... naja Amis

  • lol it says erection

  • @TheMeganwilliamson gja888 is correct there sunshine. Your larger hydros have mostly gravity fall booms.

  • Good time to change the oil.

  • Boom up dipstick, no counterweight! Duh! Looked like they were gonna set a precast bridge. Been there, done that. Looked like a 200 - 250 ton.

  • Just use the backhoe to pull it back down ;)

  • thats right 51cinder the boom is heavier than the base that carry its , who told him to swing it out like that? and hes been an operator for how long? wow

  • fking idiot

  • LMAO Sugarcreek is right over the hill from me.

  • Ub3wiener learn to read. Its a gmk 6250.

  • Its a gravity boom, no power down.

  • Just waiting for some union monkey to pipe in. There he is!!!!!

  • just get bubba to give it a big heave and its good to go

  • ummm, hello, boom that bitch down and get it back on its wheels. duh!

  • Just love the YouTube crane experts.

  • That crane is "ALL" f*cked UP !!!!!!

  • I see one weight on the truck next to the crane, usually there are a couple of weights stored on the crane itself

  • @brian42776 ---> Pretty much EVERY AT crane that rolls down the road has ZERO counterweight to allow for local weight requirements... Looks like they were getting ready to put the weights on with the outriggers fully retracted which is usually not a good idea as we see here! Gotta get 'em out a little way at least... Oooops!

  • not only the outriggers, look at the back of the crane, NO COUNTERWEIGHTS< MAJOR operator error, where are they that is probably the major reason it went over that along with the outriggers still retracted

  • not sure I'd be standing that close behind the excavator having just toppled a 500,000lb crane

  • Narly bro. Dude u sound like an idiot

  • what a retard should have put the legs out and position the other truck on the other side or something, but attempting to lift without the outriggers/legs was asking for it

  • It would be a good time to grease the undercarraige ??

  • they couldnt put the outriggers out because the trailer was in the way the operator or anyone else should have known that to could have been seriously involved real quick this is the crane operators fault he should have known better safty ? is part of his job

  • "he rode it the whole way down" no he got it and then flipped it

  • Anyone else sees 6 axles? This is the kind of workers we have building for us.. if they had to count their balls they'll probably come up as mutantZ

  • That guy is smooth. I wanna bang his sister!

  • 25 degrees? WTF!! i dont want a crane operator who doesn't know angles.

  • let's climb under it?!

  • oh shit i really did not mean to flip your crane over but the deer had to die

  • no way thats a 500k crane...... more like 50

  • @ub3rweiner

I totally agree, NFW that thing weight 250 tons.

  • I fucking absolutely hate it when some asshole says "at least nobody got hurt it could have been a lot worse". Tell that to Mike and Larry Liptak the owner's of All Erection. The only thing getting hurt is their wallet becasue of some fucking stupid UNIONIZED crane operator. These accidents should never happen but unfortunately there's too many stupid primadonna's that think they're jack shit in the seat.

Candian Capitalist... former Canadian manager for All Erection now on his own.

  • Thick enough to video and walk a bit too close to a working excavator. Does he need to get the bucket across the back of his head before he twigs on...

  • Yah, but it is ALL Crane... if you here of outriggers coming off of the ground it is usually them!

  • Would be a great time to use some rust inhibitor on the under carriage and lube up the universals.

  • Note- outriggers not set up, If the jacks aren't down you can't slew one of these over the side at all. There's your problem. He's not lucky. It wouldn't have happened if he'd set up properly.

  • yep your fired

  • "couple of hundred ton" crane???? it's a 70ton crane, and the driver did not put his counter weights on yet

  • @cloggy12003 really???? its a Grove 6250L model, the 6 means it has 6 axles and the 250 means it is a 250 ton crane, the L means it is a long boom model with 226' of boom.

  • @natterma ok, you have me on that one, l agree with you, l stand corrected, however the GVW is no more than the legal axle weight, times six, which is on or about 70ton, you gotta give me that one...

  • @cloggy12003 As natterma said... a GMK(Grove)6250L is a bit bigger than the "70ton crane" you so confidently stated... Duh, do your homework....

  • "I think they're out of Ohio". Translation: "I can read"

  • insurance companies love shit like this

  • oiler was puttin the crane away why the operator was poopin!

  • outriggers you ya dum f..king yank not a clue

  • Take a look at the two jackstand looking things that were under the back of the crane. Those mean the operator was getting ready to remove the rear stabilizer box (note all the plugs and hoses disconnected at 0:28). The back of the crane is supposed to be supported by the stands, and the front by the stabilizers fully extended to prevent tipping. If they had backed the trailer up, he couldn't reach that open spot on it so it looks like they tried it keeping the front stabilizers retracted. oops.

  • guy standing under toppled crane and right beside working excavator, all the while vidoeing. you will be the next accident

  • cool video!

  • i agree with you 51cinder that did it, did he forgot to put them out ?

  • what the heck wast he crane being used for here?

  • @aandrave IIRC ODOT/Tusc' country road dept was repairing a bridge in the background.

Just another day in Amish Nirvana.

  • "I think they're out of Cleveland."

You're GOOD, since it says that on the graphics.

  • Operator is hittin the cheese line!!!!

  • Glad no one was hurt.

    safetyBUILT-IN Channel

  • Redneck narration.

  • I love when people that have no clue about cranes comment on something like this. you CAN in fact swing this crane around on retracted outriggers, the crane must be leveled and the outrigger cylinders must be down but you can do it between 10-20' radius, even with 8,000lbs on the hook. dont believe me? ask someone that actually runs one of these.

  • @natterma ...right;)

  • @natterma Chart may say that, but the CW's are a tad bit more than that.... I've been craning for 20 years, and currently run a GMK150 ton. I put out at least 1/2 of my outriggers to dress up my counterweights which weigh between 4.2 and 8.5 TONS each... I love my career!

Keep the rubber side down(ALL the way!)

  • Thumbs up if you think the guy videoing the scene is the same guy that flipped the crane.

  • @SteveHandlebar I laugh so hard thinking about that combined with the way he is talking.

  • good time to grease the props, boys outriggers outriggers outriggers them funny things that stick out arn't there to look pretty does tend to fall over without them

  • Hope they got the collision damage waiver

  • @Eng8492 cranes dont rent the came as cars dipshit they come with an operator 99% of the time

  • short cut guy screws the pooch

  • @SVTintro heh

  • you of followed the guide line instead of trying to take short cuts

  • He should put those outriggers out before swinging the boom around-charts tell you what it will do

  • @51cinder You can see the outriggers aren't even out more then a foot or so.

  • Its a rental. I hope you're not blaming the rental company for that lol.

  • The jib's not even out; how did it tip over?

  • @AtheistOnTheEdge outriggers weren't out... gmk-6250 isn't rated to be operated on tires. at the very least he should have had them halfway out.

  • cool video bro...

  • its a 250 ton lol

  • you can work with short outriggers just be sure you set the computer correctly

  • short cuts will get you killed or at least hurt. Its just a matter or time!!!DUMBASSES

  • Never NEVER swing your boom without your outriggers!

  • @ElectrasolAdvanced so NEVER use your rubber charts ? kind of a waste isnt it....

  • @rollinlowford gmks dont have rubber charts but have a dozen intermediate o/r charts, he set it up on 0 outrigger as trucker jay pointed out, he did in fact have his out riggers set up..... he didnt check the chart for a zero outrigger chart, the smaller cranes (up to at least 165t) have a zero chart

  • a new way of greasing the drive shaft

  • not go to work in any field incompetent and useless

  • Never swing over the side without outriggers with a gmk,

  • Wow what a mess, I have worked with this Crane Company before with Dillman Eqipment and Astec Inc. Great Crane guys to work with, to bad his happend to them.

  • what a big ass arm!

  • Never heard of an outrigger, I guess.

  • This people don't know he Newbie or Lazy. 2 must have one

  • looked like he was getting his counterweights off of the truck. didn't have enough room to extend the outriggers between him and the t/t

he tried to stabilise somewhat but obviously over extended the capabilitiies.

  • Ostro gibnął.

  • Comment removed

  • wtf!!!!!!!!!! i live like a mile from here

  • sweet! IM fairly certain a GMK of that size does not have a on rubber chart

  • @nate956 if you look close the out riggers were down straight down just not extended
