This leads me to believe that up to that point, someone else or more than one person were laying the children down alone as they died. So you get a light, garbled version of what was on the tape previously along with what was recorded over it. Thats what the investigators are pretty sure happened here.

@BlackTears1489 He took a tape that already had music on it and tried to record over it. Sometimes that can get messed up and you will be able to hear a little bit of what was already on there. It happens with video tapes too.

The fisheye lens photos of the bloated bodies make listening to this even more eerie! Imagine how Jonestown must have smelled by the time they sent soldiers there to collect them! Since it was November in Guyana, that was in summer! Yikes!

It's impossible to rationalize with a group of brainwashed followers. Whether you attend church or watch a television ministry. Don't just take the preachers word for it. Check it out for yourself! The guy at 5.20......name is Jim McElvane. He was a therapist who just arrived there only 2 days earlier. I pray that Christine accepted Christ as Lord and Savior in her final moments

Jones was a junkie who lived on the soc. sec. checks, welfare and retirement checks of his flock. When he ordered the murder of the Senator he knew he was fucked. They had an option to drink up or be machine gunned down by the gaurds in the background. This is so amazing to hear for the first time how he manipulated them into suicide. I studied the Somme WWI and it was much of the same, god is on our side now go walk into the machine guns. Not the latest tactic and if you didn't you were shot.

@boofing2k20 i think you should consider the power of word itself. take a look at charles manson, or even hitler. people always listen to passion, and the followers in this world get caught in the emotions. if you really look into it, not all the people wanted to drink it, and it wasn't just miller that thought that. they were sort of stuck, so dying was the only option to his loyalties. and of course he didn't die the same way, doesn't surprise me at all really. we all have different views.

I read on one of the jonestown sites that at 1 of the meetings she & Jim were kinda argueing & he put a gun to her head. She didn't back down though, she keep telling him, "You can shoot me but you will respect me!" He finally backed down & put the gun away. She was a brave one!
