  • @marta178 Fnac...

  • Is it now priced for 129?

  • Can you upgrade this to 3.0 ??

  • @supermanxd12 I think a 4.0 upgrade is likely at some point in the next 3 months (depending on when Google releases the source code), officially or unofficially.

  • is it made in china ?

  • @darkhood66 everything is made in China

  • @Charbax alot of stuff made in china, but not all those stuff "Made in China"

  • @Charbax And I am tired of it too, all of you might think its funny but I don't

  • Does it have 1 ghz or 800 mhz ?...

  • @Freedom1sour1 1Ghz, you choose in settings which speed you want to run, 800mhz can run maybe 20min longer on the battery.

  • it doesn't have a rear facing camera?

  • @Roofee91 Yes because it's running android 2.2 so you can switch languages if you like;)

  • I'm gonna buy this tablet for my mom.... Does somebody know is there Russian language????

  • Alright... 43 or 70? 43 is much more pocketable, much more handheld, which is kinda what im looking for. On the other hand the 70 has capacative touch screen wich allows for better gaming so any1 want to make up my mind?

  • @strungoutontech Archos 70 IT is more pocketable than Samsung Galaxy Tab. Archos is lighter, thinner and more compact. About 99.5% of the apps in Google Marketplace work as well on Archos as on Samsung as a very small minority of apps absolutely require a backfacing camera, compass or 3G/AGPS to work.

I think ill wait for a new version with honeycomb (hopefully)

  • Can we make calls with this device?

  • @SuperAyaz83

    Skype calls.

  • can it be updated to 2.3??

  • the best tablet of the world for this price, light speed and all connect possible(wifi, usb, hdmi,sd card)

  • does it have gps?

  • I got a few question.

I heard the video presenter say you can use the micro usb as a host. Does that mean I can attach a keyboard to it?

    Can you call with it?

IS there something like word available on the Archos?

  • i have a funny question i don't know the answer.

is the model archos archos 70 Something different than the 7?

  • Will this playback your 720p mkv's on device? And also HDMI output to tv? I'm assuming it will handle it and scale ok?

  • What's the battery life? iPad is like 10hrs....

  • Time to place my order for this bad boy. Google Android all the way. :)

  • whats the RAM??????

  • @interkaiser44 ....256mb

  • Can you get a 3g with this?

  • I just ordered one..can't wait to get it !!!!

  • only $275? I mean wow

  • HITTT THE BOOOSSSSSSTTTT!!!!!!

  • Charbax, will android 3.0 (honeycomb) be availible for this tablet when it comes out?

  • where to get this? and does it have gps?

  • but no front facing camera=FAIL!

  • @savior02 learn to read the spec sheet..it has a FRONT VGA CAMERA...FAIL

  • @deaibess your fucking right cock sucker! Im getting one for sure now!

  • @savior02 no u fail why does everything have to have a camera now when our phone already does?

  • @savior02

    3:12

    fail

  • What kind of browser does the A70 use? Google Chrome? I would like to know, since that will decide on whether or not I will get one, because it would be used for my online school, and Ashworth only supports Certain web browsers.

  • I would love to get this for Christmas haha

  • how's the battery life on this?

  • is this tablet better than the galaxy tablet? and can you use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse at the same time on it? and most importantly does this have Skype and android market? please answer asap because im trying to decide on a tablet i want. thank you

  • @henleybros5 It's 3x cheaper than galaxy tab. You can use Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. You can use Skype and the Google Marketplace.

  • @Charbax - This is GOOD news, and provides for me a legitimate excuse for investing in this awesome device. It's worth every dime if you ask me.

  • @Charbax you can do the same thing with the ipad

  • @Charbax Not any more. Galaxy Tab is now $350 wifi version. Galaxy tab has 512 mb of memory for apps. The front and rear facing camera that work with video chat applications. Ships with full android market. More responsive, faster, better screen.

  • @strungoutontech Archos is still nearly half the price, Archos was $250 9 months ago, is thinner, lighter, fits better in jacket pockets, has kick-stand, has real HDMI, real USB host, real video codecs support, you can install full Google Marketplace on Archos in about 2 seconds, Archos is just as responsive, just as fast, both have same class processor, RAM does not matter for Android as multi-tasking pauses background apps in any case. Better screen, that's only if you do not care its heavier.

  • @Charbax 512 of memory obviously matters. You know this as well as I. Archos gets quickly bogged down with multiple tasks. Its ok if you don't mind constantly killing apps with an app that kills apps. There are dozens of cases for most electronic devices that have kick stands built in. The size and weigh difference between the two are slight. 11 oz to 13 oz for the tab. Codec support is good for both. Archos is much more unstable, just look at reviews around the web. Nice try.

  • @Charbax I would almost buy an Archos 70 but it has a pretty poor build quality and like all Archos products it is unreliable and unpredictable. On the positive like you say, its at least 75$ cheaper than the Galaxy tab. You get what you pay for.

  • @Charbax By skype do you mean skype video? cause galaxy tab only does voice

  • @saifulisfree Tab already has video ;)

  • @henleybros5

Archos is the winner! Will be getting this spring new 7" Archos 70 Internet Tablet with 250 GB HD....it beats all others easy & dirt cheap! Go to archos.com

  • Where can I buy this in the US? I can't seem to find it anywhere..

  • are skype available on the archos 70? pleas anser!

  • Also, would you say that a hard drive requires/uses more battery power than the flash drive, affecting the overall battery life of the two Archos 70s? (Just a query. I'm not tech-minded enough to know one way or the other.)

  • there is no SIM card ):

  • Charbax question, Do you think Gingerbread will be available for the Archos 70 IT also?

  • @ygierick Yes, but nobody knows for sure until all Gingerbread hardware requirements are released. Maybe not even Google knows for sure yet.

  • @Charbax Thanks man, super fast response, lol. Getting mine tomorrow, IDK if I should get Bluetooth headphones though.

  • @Charbax - I understand that Android 3.0 Codename Honeycomb is in the works. Hopefully this will work on the Archos 70 Internet Tablet.

  • @ygierick depends on what Archos wants to do, but there are NO system requirements, as stated by Google themselves. If it can run Froyo or eclair it can run gingerbread. Just gotta get archo to develop it

  • very nice tablet Archos, you've done it this time, i would love to see how most apps UI will render on such large screen

  • Can I transfer flash games like on archos 5 ????????

  • When it will be available to purchase???

  • @danilicos Now it seems.

  • @danilicos Today, actually for the 8GB version. Probably next week or so for 250 GB version.

  • @6jason61212 very nice, I'll be waiting for it. thank much for info. or maybe something better we can find for same price?)

  • 10.1 won't fit in your pocket and is just over carefree holding. :( very hard choice between the two

  • I'd suggest just to get 10.1, almost the same price

  • im so gonna buy it :o

  • awsome i am french american, the country of france rules. so does archos

  • i love all these new players! cant wait for them to hit the market! i wanna this one or the 43! btw can we put skype for android on it?

  • Archos is french and are more expensive in france u_u

  • @Anthony95270 lol that sucks :(

  • This is what I love about open source software. It's cheap, runs better than Crapple and Microshit, and there are no limits except hardware. Gotta love Linux.

  • @iTailsTheStunter well said :D

  • @iTailsTheStunter Lol agreed.. Althought MAC is a brand that is based off Linux.... lol just saying

  • @corey774 No, Mac is a Unix based system, and is nowhere close to Linux.

  • @iTailsTheStunter No mac and linux (well at least ubuntu and its linux) are run off of unix

  • @iTailsTheStunter and also the bitrate limiter from my provider seems to be not coorporating with linux so i got full speed internet!!!! so happy with linux

  • @iTailsTheStunter I've had no problems with my apple products and love the apple products I own. I don't like microsoft what so ever... Android seems to be really nice. I'm definitely giving this a try.

  • @iTailsTheStunter actually crapple does it better

  • will gen 8 have a dvr snap on?

  • Great video! Thanks! I am definitely getting one of them!

  • How did you get it before the worldwide release?

  • @Darkhoster Don't get me started. I live in Canada and you can bet this thing will be $350 or something here if you can even find the thing. I feel a trip to the U.S. coming on.

  • @Darkhoster

    Cmon dude !

  • Capacitive screen AT LAST!

  • has it got enough power for a external hard drive without power supply?

  • @Darkhoster Europe has 20% sales added taxes included in the price. Advertised US prices are always without tax.

  • Hey guys i was just wondering, with the tegra 2 chip coming out is it worth buying this now, i really like this product and am anticipating its release in the states but it it worth getting, please let me know

  • Dohoho this thing makes me feel light-headed I want it so badly.

  • Same @emilvee

  • hi is the hack for the market legal?

Or is it like the xda-developers hacks where they have permission?

  • does it make calls like samsung's

  • @blackutube1 Onlæy using VOIP apps such as Fring, Nimbuzz, Truphone, Google Voice, SIP droid, eventually when official Skype comes to Android and more such apps. This way calling on Archos tablets can actually be much cheaper than using regular phones, in fact calling can be free.

  • a netbook is much better

  • @uglinho Not the same market.

  • @EternalComos he is saying there are hacks on the internet that allow you to manually add the Android market. It's not supported, but the hack will make it work.

  • @kenyu73 no i think @EternalComas meant that netbooks are not in the same genre as tablets!

  • I'd rather pay the extra $25 for the 10.1" Tablet.

  • does it have Market place?

  • @gcysne You will very probably be able to install the full Google Marketplace on this device easily by finding the right market4archos.apk file on the Internet after this tablet has been released. Follow the ArchosFans forums for that.

  • Hi there, just wondering if there is a definitive release date in October scheduled at this stage?

  • @mattgroove07 They said it's planned to be released around October 15th worldwide approximately.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @Charbax I heard it was released on the 30th this month from expansys

  • @Charbax

Actually, release date is pushed back, 1st-15th November as commented by some online stores that had it on pre-order. J&R and Amazon.com removed pre-order pages, had too much orders. Amazon.de accepts orders for 101/70 but ther's no accurate release date.

  • @foxkkcxew i hope the release is soon,

    pre-ordered from expansys waiting impatiently!

  • any idea on the prices yet?

been a chew to replace my aging 605 I sold a month ago.

and the 5 series really scarfed me due of the bugs reported

  • @supertamal2000 $275

  • @Charbax charbax: also will there be higher HDD models?

or they will all be limited to 8-16GB + memory modules?

  • @supertamal2000 There is a 250GB model announced for MSRP $349, maybe they do a 500GB too but it's not yet announced.

  • @Charbax thank you so much for all the answers.. the 250Gb version is my target now. XD

  • On the archos 70, using the micro SD card, what are the storage options?

  • It support flash?

  • @alistassio Yes around launch in October Android 2.2 should be ready for it and support full flash 10.1.

  • Can this archos use 3g usb modem? Thanks.

  • @mcninjah it might get driver for that on its USB host port. Otherwise you can do 3G using a Mifi adapter or using Bluetooth tethering with any compatible mobile phone with such BT and data plan.

  • Can't decide if I should buy either the 70 or 101 archos or just wait for the gingerbread tablets

  • can you make phone calls?

  • @AnnaMishel Yes, but over WiFi or Bluetooth, using either a Mifi adaptor (available below $100 unlocked in some markets) or using a Bluetooth mobile phone with a data plan and bluetooth tethering support. But then the phone calls probably have to be VOIP based using SIP or Skype like protocols if those apps are available on Android. What this means, you can make perhaps much cheaper phone calls than with a normal phone.

  • I am very impressed with archos and the new line they have just relased to the press. It is about time that they hit the mark. I hope that they can make updates a regular thing and hope that the support is there. This is a great choice for everyone that is looking for the ipad alternative or to get into the android scene. For the price it is very nice and is impressive.

  • too bad This nwe one has no Dock suppoort, even the DVR Station is gone... but even if, i think this one is worth for the price.

    regards.

  • @charbax, how crisp is the 800x480 screen on that? compared to a gen 3 ipod touch?

  • I am ssoooo disappointed with the new Archos tablets.. I've been waiting months for them to come out.. Out of the 5 tablets they're releasing, there is no 3G or 4G internet capability.. and there is no GPS... Even the Archos 5 internet tablet had the option for GPS.. Why did they drop this functionality in the next generation? WHY Charbax, WHY??!

  • @Gangularis you use a bluetooth gps receiver working with a app called bluetooth gps or receiver and have gps :)

  • @xphobus That's fine and dandy, but at least some of these tablets should have it built in to the tablet itself, and not require it as an "add on".. ESPECIALLY considering the previous archos 5 had GPS..

  • @Gangularis i want to see how would you hold a 7 inch or 10 inch ! tablet very close to the front car glass so the gps signal wont get lost

    #LOL

  • @Gangularis Fast GPS requires 3G modem inside, otherwise GPS lock down is very slow, takes about 30 seconds. If Archos makes a 3G version of any or all of these (that can happen if any carrier buys into the idea), then there will be A-GPS 3G assisted GPS on those.

  • @Charbax Ok, thanks for answering, and thanks for taking all of those vids! I lurk around your forums a lot, but have not registered.

  • @lofty

This isn't going to access cell networks. It's basically a super-sized android media player which is exactly what I want. I just hope it can access ad-hoc networks and see my droid's wireless tether network. Finally something that isn't so big I can't easily carry it around, or so small that it isn't viable as a decent e-reader.

  • i'm in trouble !!! i can't decide if it's better this (7 inches) or the 10.1 inches model ... the weigth is so low in both models and the main difference is only the dimension

  • @ILMORUZ i'm having this problem as well

should i go for the more portable one

or go for the ultimate touch experience....

i'm sure i would be happy with either one!

    just the decision!!

  • want to get this!!!

  • This is the Android 2.2, it supports Adobe Flash 10.1. Could you make a video on YouTube to act? I would like to know also what web browser, this encompasses. How much does this cost in the euro currency?

  • what about multitouch

  • this time it look very nice for archos : price, android 2.2, hdmi, usb, divx, mkv, camera it's beautiful .... hope there is not bugs & that they are going to be out quickly.

  • Why does the Samsung Galaxy cost so much more?

What features does this one lack? Samsung has GPS and is pretty much a big phone right? I'd like to see GPS but this looks like a good product for not a lot of money!

  • Because the Galaxy is 3G and the price is being jacked up by the cell phone carriers.
