Does anyone else think it's ridiculous that the word "decriminalization" != "legalization". I guess decriminalizing cannabis is better than keeping the status quo, but we should just flat-out legalize it. Decriminalization doesn't bring in taxes, it doesn't totally take sales away from drug dealers, and I think it loses all respect for the law. Legalizing it makes way more sense.

Its stupid to think that someones parents are going to be proud of them doing marijuana, but id rather my kid know the truth about drugs and that they do them sensibly instead of being choc feeding them this bullshit anti-drug propaganda, when the worse ones are legal to be bought behind counters. People are going to do drugs in WHATEVER society you have, you cant stop this. However, you can reduce harm imensely by regulation.

There was a study done on pregnant mothers who smoked marijuana and they found that the fetus brains actually developed more than in the mothers who didn't smoke marijuana. This is because it promotes brain cell growth.

I think the age limit should be anywhere in between 16 and 18. I think each province should be in control of age limits but if a National age limit was decided on 17 would probably be best. That way young people could try cannabis before getting into serious drugs like alcohol.

@whiskers123 15 should be the legal age I know that is very very young but cmon half the kids I know do it anyways and thats not going to change 16 would be a little difficult because high school usually starts at grade 10 for most provinces and kids in grade 11 would just get it for the ones in grade 10. Weed doesn't exactly harm you and I think every canadian citizen should have the right to put whatever they want into their bodies without the government telling them whats right and wrong.....
