@YellowYoshiHD Finds holding a list of instructions in memory difficult, although can perform all tasks when told individually. This is according to the British dyslexia association.
@YellowYoshiHD- According to the British dyslexia association in relation to adults:
- Poor short term memory for facts, events, times, dates.
- Poor working memory; i.e. difficulty holding on to several pieces of information while undertaking a task e.g. taking notes as you listen, coping with compound questions.
- Mistakes with routine information e.g. giving your age or the ages of your children.
Inability to hold on to information without referring to notes.
I am an optometrist who prescribes precision tinted lenses and have 2 kids that are mildly dyspraxic (one of whom also suffers from visual stress and uses tinted glasses a little like yours!).
The Society for Coloured Lens Prescribers gives
details of local optometrists in the UK who prescribe lenses for visual stress.
When i was in 3rd grade i was tested and was dyognosed with dyslexia and ended up moving to a learning disability school. Everyday is a challenge and i do hate going to school. i am now in 11th grade and is just beginning to take some normal classes. I am socially awkward and only have few friends and am not happy with my life. My grades suck and my biggest fear is not graduating if i dont i do not know what i will do.
I think I'm dyslexic and I'm going to get tested. However, there's apart of me what doesn't think this because I get very good grades such as A's and sometimes B's. English seems to be my weakest subject and that's the class where I feel like an idiot because I get my b's and d's, L' and e's, q's and p's mixed up. I often get letters jumbled up, here's a few examples: who and how, Jhon and John, the and she etc. I also read with little comprehension and often skip words and lines.
Okay so I'm not sure if I'm dyslexic or not but I did meet some of these symptoms, I strongly dislike reading out loud, I confuse left and right sometimes, I mix up and flip letters and sometimes numbers too. My reading level is grades under what I should be at and when I read words like dance on the page. Im in ninth grade and people say I'm stupid...do I have dyslexia? And does school counselors have a test I can take?
I wonder if i have this. Although I am proficent in spelling, i am horrible at reading, especially out loud. Sometimes i see words spelled differently, and i studder alot. Though i can read at a decent speed, occasionally i experience what i said above.
My son has dyslexia, he looks at it like a gift as he feels it makes him a better person who sees the world in a different light, hope he keeps that mind frame....
i have dislexia but i dont wanna tell my teachers cuz they might put me on the spot on perpose cuz they hate me since i talk alot cuz i get board and i cant focous.. i have a teacher that likes to pick on me to read but i hate reading to people ,when i read to my self im a pretty good reader but when i read to people i get really slow and the lines look wierd so i went to go get glasses and the doctor says i have perfect vision !! F***my life !! all my family are doctors im the only dumb one =,(
@Musemaniac247 - not nessarly, but it does mean you have carictoristics that would be assosiated with someone who is dyslexic, it might be worth checking it out and seeing if you do have it or not.
@01stanbk i think i have it too; i have a lot of the symptoms... but i think that we just have to be more careful, pay more attention to things and work a bit harder than regular people and we will be fine;
i have most of the problems in this video from day to day life and my dad has the same problems and he is dislexic and i told my mom i think i am dislexic and she said no ur not and im 12 and it keeps getting worse what can i do
@cristidab35t- well not really, because I don't get low grades, I'm classed as having an above average intelligence and have always loved studying. But being dyslexic and seeing things in reverse or having to concentrate really hard just to work out what a single word says, all that takes a lot of time, I used to have to spend hours on one homework sheet just to be able to come close to completing it. But in my hole time at school I never once missed a single homework.
@IndigoCat17 What???? Did you really say that? I saw your singing videos and you have the gull to questions someones else's singing ability? That is one of the more incredible statements I have seen on youtube!
well ok, So question.. What do you do when you know you have it since a kid? who do you see for help as an adult. i try to do it on my own but people don't understand why i can't get it when i ask for help. so.. yeah..anyhelp would be great.

Can dyslexia occur at a later point in life or you have to be born with it?
Khazar01 2 months ago
@Khazar01 It can.
mustache1999 1 month ago
@Khazar01 you are born with it, it is genetic, unless you have a stick or brain injury then that can course dyslexia as well.

So you make up a 4 letter acronym to blame for low grades instead of admitting you are too lazy to study?
