What's the point in doing a motorway test for that long? They should have tested it on country roads, talked about the great handling, etc.

@acippico Because this review is aimed at the cars target audience, who do spend most of their time on motorways commuting, as this is a commuting car. Testing it on winding roads and tracks would have been a waste of time because that's not really what it's designed for or what the people who buy them will do in them

@silencethescreams Ah, well you see I disagree. I have the old 320CD and the one thing that sets it apart from any old motorway cruiser is how beautifully it goes round corners, not to mention how much fun it is.

I don't mind them testing it on the motorway because a lot of people *will* be using it there, but this review needed to test it on something a little less boring as well. Do you not agree?

@acippico Nope, this was designed as a long distance executive car, not a sports car. Which is fortunate considering none of them get past about 60,000 miles without the turbo going pop and leaving an even bigger hole in your pocket!

@silencethescreams Oh well, we'll have to disagree then. Anyway, the common failure of the pre-05 diesel engines was the swirl-flaps rather than the turbo. I deliberately bought an 06 which had the revised inlet manifold. Or were you referring to the current range?

some people prefer mercedes some like bmw more some audi, but the fact is that bmw is simply best of all, Any bmw compared to different car with the same liter motor is just faster needs less fuel and sounds way better. so those who tell different are just WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!! and about interior ??? maybe its not the best looking but used materials are way above those used in audi or merc. You just have to accept that if you buy audi ford merc or any other you just both a WRONG car. u need bmw

I've got one too. I like it very much. Overtaking a bunch of cars is easy, the midrange acceleration from 60 - 160 km/h of this engine is astonishing. Only in heavy winter the rear wheel drive is annoying sometimes. But its a BMW... :-)

The mpg will get a lot better once it is run in. I get about 45mpg from mine, and that is an auto.

Please listen a 320i(fuel).. it's worth.. you will notice the BIG difference between both machines.
