They said the Janitor could be a nightmare for Bones and he was a total slouch like everyone in the real world predicted. Mousasi in Fedors camp which is definitely a big problem. Melendez is expected to sign with the UFC sometime when his contract is up. He already crossed promotions by letting Liddell compete in the Pride Grand Prix in hopes that he would fight Wand. He lost to Rampage. Theyre too tuff inJapan. @Svet69 The scope of Pride tournaments was not even close to Olympic level. Also, the complete absence of PED testing kind of threw a shadow over the whole thing. I mean, you have to assume that at least 90% of Pride fighters were juicing.

I don't think Sonnen is on Silva's level, but neither is Nate, the difference with Chael is he wont stand and trade shots with silva, unless he goes crazy.
He got a knee in(flash KO), an elbow from the bottom(nasty cut), a choke(nearly was finished), and finished the round on top of Chael pounding him.... Also, remember the elbows Nate lended when Chael had his back....4 or 5 of those, one of which cut the bridge of his nose.

Listen, Chael would be strugglinh if he had a hard time keeping nate on the ground, which he didn't because he was down there ALL 3 RDS. Cuts and bruises occur all the time in mma, it's the nature of the sport, just because Chael got cut by a grazing elbow doesn't mean he was struggling.
The point is, NO ONE expected this kind of total domination, everyone expected chael to lose badly.
Nate trains with some of the best wrestlers in the world, GSP, Rashad, the greg jackson camp, olympic wrestlers... For Nate to not even come close to winning this fight, on top of that lose all three rounds via wrestling match, is a huge blow to not just him but the whole camp he trains with. Chael completely shut his game down.
Jacksons has a real big struggle lately. Marquardt, Stevenson & Jardine losing and Evans barely surviving the assault. GSP will either bring them back to the game or will sink them.

Rashad is a black belt and I dont think he will work well off his back. He is one of the top fighters so he will get the belt faster. If you got your BJJ black belt in like 4-5 years youre not really a black belt (unless your name is BJ freakin Penn)

You're missing the entire point of what Chael just said. The UFC has the best fighters not b/c they are truly the best fighters necessarily, but b/c they have the marketing muscle of being the biggest MMA promotion in the world.
Take the heavyweight division for example. Even if you discounted Fedor's Pride reign, he's still the #1 HWY fighter of the past 3 years based on competition, not Brock, not Carwin, not Cain, etc... but the UFC doesn't want you to know this.
By being the #1 promotion and with their marketing muscle and with Joe Rogan's theatrics, the "fans" just assume the UFC has the best, b/c that's what their marketing machine drills into our heads.
Sure, Chael was kind of knocking Arlovski, but the same situation can be applied to the Brocks, the Carwins, the Cains, etc..

Example Trinidad vs DLH (Top Rank vs DKP), PBF vs Pacquiao (GBP vs Top Rank), that's what sells. You know that if a UFC vs Strikeforce card is ever announced, sales will sky rocket, but Dana White is too greedy for that.

@Casquetron Agreed with the last part. UFC is in control. They got the money to build up a solid fighter like Matsyushenko against a rising superstar. They said the Janitor could be a nightmare for Bones and he was a total slouch like everyone in the real world predicted. If you look at all the top 10 fighters tho they are already signed to UFC. even independent Rankings have alot of UFC fighters on their lists. How many people would wana see Werdum vs JDS? It already happened in UFC.

Mousasi in Fedors camp which is definitely a big problem. Melendez is expected to sign with the UFC sometime when his contract is up. He already crossed promotions by letting Liddell compete in the Pride Grand Prix in hopes that he would fight Wand. He lost to Rampage. Theyre too tuff inJapan. @Svet69 The scope of Pride tournaments was not even close to Olympic level. Also, the complete absence of PED testing kind of threw a shadow over the whole thing. I mean, you have to assume that at least 90% of Pride fighters were juicing.

anderson silva is considered the best because if you know anything about the international MMA scene it was a giant deal when the PRIDE fighters were comin over because some considered them to be the best, but some considered UFC fighters to be better, UFC is the official proving ground for MMA but you gotta be psychologically prepared for the pressure of performing in front of so many and whatnot so only some people can handle it

Sonnen dominated marquardt for all three rounds. Nate got in one flying knee at the beginning, one elbow from his back which cut chael, and had a choke attempt at the end...that's it! the rest was all Sonnen.
I don't think Sonnen is on Silva's level, but neither is Nate, the difference with Chael is he wont stand and trade shots with silva, unless he goes crazy.

Listen, Chael would be strugglinh if he had a hard time keeping nate on the ground, which he didn't because he was down there ALL 3 RDS. Cuts and bruises occur all the time in mma, it's the nature of the sport, just because Chael got cut by a grazing elbow doesn't mean he was struggling.
The point is, NO ONE expected this kind of total domination, everyone expected chael to lose badly.

Nate trains with some of the best wrestlers in the world, GSP, Rashad, the greg jackson camp, olympic wrestlers... For Nate to not even come close to winning this fight, on top of that lose all three rounds via wrestling match, is a huge blow to not just him but the whole camp he trains with. Rashad is a black belt and I dont think he will work well off his back. He is one of the top fighters so he will get the belt faster. If you got your BJJ black belt in like 4-5 years youre not really a black belt (unless your name is BJ freakin Penn)

UFC has taken a lot of traits from the WWE. We are now hearing terms like 'heel' (bad guy) being used by Mir etc.
Mir actually has learnt to enjoy the role. Fighters who want to be a big draw, and be main event will now have to be good on the mic, have charisma, good body frame, exciting fight style and trash talk.

The only thing keeping the best fighters from fighting eachother is seperate organizations.The best fighters in the UFC do fight eachother and the majority of the best fighters fight in the UFC.Saying if your good you might not ever get into the UFC is bullshit.If you're good enough you'll eventully be picked up. Chael is the best example of the UFC having the two best guys fight regardless of marketability, because Chael isn't a fan favourite yet he's in the co main event as he's a top fighter.

You're missing the entire point of what Chael just said. The UFC has the best fighters not b/c they are truly the best fighters necessarily, but b/c they have the marketing muscle of being the biggest MMA promotion in the world.
Take the heavyweight division for example. Even if you discounted Fedor's Pride reign, he's still the #1 HWY fighter of the past 3 years based on competition, not Brock, not Carwin, not Cain, etc... but the UFC doesn't want you to know this.

If the UFC were to just let anyone and EVERYONE tryout, how could the UFC turn a profit by signing 300 new heavyweights? It's much cheaper for the UFC to offer Mussasi or Fedor a large contract rather than signing 300 nobodies and HOPE there is another Fedor or Mussasi.
