They should create new full-length campaigns with today's ABC shows and re-hire her to sing them! That should bring ABC out of this seemingly ho-hum and boring stupor style that it's in right now!!!
@barber747 I want to hear her do one about ABC going HD but that's not gonna happen however she should say America is watching ABC HD but then again it would also be heard on Analog TV since television stations use HD to broadcast in Analog for cable and satellite fans who can't afford HD but you can still get it for free when you buy a new TV or a converter box meant for use with analog sets to pick up digital.

something was INDEED happening at ABC after years of hibernation. and when Roseanne came along a while later. ABC would rise to the top. Saying that I relly loved this ad. The Idea of showing people all across the country itself seems like it could've been used as a format for a show itself. Like (Let's All) Be There drew people to NBC Somethings Happening drew people to ABC the same way: a slow rise to the top.
It's so unique and original, no wonder why it worked and that they used the slogan for three years. and If they used it today it would ACTUALLY have me watching the damn network. they are #1 today (i think but don't quote me as I don't watch much TV anymore) but to paraphrase the slogan "Nothin's Happening on ABC! you could'nt pay me to watch Desparate Househwores or Lost Dazed and Confused or Gray's Anatomy. no thanks! Fuck'em !I'll stick with Youtube!

The cajun guy is actually saying : "...Tout le monde...c'est ça que j'espere pour nous autres" = "...Everybody...I hope that for us." It doesn't mean anything , the first part of what he's saying is missing!!!
Wow, I've seen the short clips of Something's Happening '87 at just under one minute. But, I've never seen a version over four minutes! Did you get this from an affiliate presentation reel, eyeontv? Anyway, thanks for the upload. ABC's the best!

Just wondering if you knew how I could get my hands on the instrumental version. I posted a video response showing how it was used in this market for the news tease. It was also generically used at the end of ABC shows to block out ABC's announcers announcing the times for shows WTVN used to preempt.
ABC really went in a different direction with the original version of Something's Happening, featuring scenes of everyday Americans, their lives, and opinions, but at least there were enough stars on hand making appearences!
Now that you've gone back to posting full-length ABC promos Tom, do you think you could look for America's Watching ABC (1991 edition) and It Must Be ABC from '92? Sorry if I sound like a broken record, since I asked about these months ago, but i'd really like to see those.
