  • good stuff, but surely you should start by lifting the bells to waist height before dipping into the split squat?

  • @turn1210 yeah true! its more of a split squat dead lift i guess, i dont even do these any more i pretty much just do back squat, front squat, clean and jerk, snatch and clean pull.

  • What is that music in the background? Who is it by?

  • Whatever you're doing, you're developing good calves. Keep working on them as well as the rest of your body. Great work.

  • you man thats impressive, long tym =P. do you train normal dead lifts aswell?

  • @freeyourself yeah but im not good at them. my lower back is weaker than my other muscles so i can't go too heavy with deadlifts.

  • @bobbyatopk aaaa i see, ive never even come across split squats, im assuming the leg thats lifted its only for balance?

  • Heyy, i dunno if youll be able to help me Bobby but everyone takes the piss out of me for having incredibly thin legs...like really thin...high weighted squats just hurts my knees along with bodyweight pistols.....i desperately want bigger legs so people cane stop taking the piss and everyone in my local area admires you for strenght...just wondered if you could help...thanks :D

  • @ChrisIlabaca been too long man :D !

  • With a few training sessions you'll be able to do more and more reps with a give % of the 1RM, so I think you need to repeat the test at least one more time to see if you get the same number of reps.

  • @vlasevmovement do you mean when im more rested ? or do you mean i will improve. because if i improve it could be a change in the type 2a fibers towards endurance, which i dont want. or it could be increased strength in which case i would have a new 1rm too.

not sure what you mean ?

  • @bobbyatopk This happens when I switch types of training. One week I tried doing 150kg DL for a rep max and got something like 7 or 8 reps. The next week I got 10. Fiber types don't drift over this fast. I think the improvement is because of better fiber recruitment (CNS efficiency). Think learning curve. In essence, i think this attempt under-represents your true ability. Kinda like how we get huge gains in the beginning of our weight training and small gains after we find our actual strength.

  • @vlasevmovement but im not talking about increasing the amount of reps i can do at 95. im saying at a percentage of 95 i couldn't do as many reps as is average. and i dont really see how that would change unless my muscle adapts because i have been doing this kind of training for a long time. if i switched to endurance training maybe it would change but i dont want it to change, i want fast twitch dominance. let me know if im misunderstanding what your saying ?

  • @bobbyatopk I think you are getting what I'm saying, yea. Say you haven't run a 5k in a while. Then you run it once and your time is not good. When you run it a second time, your body will be getting back to its groove and you'll do better. I'm not saying that you should change to endurance training, but rather, just give this test another go in a few days and see how you do. If the reps are the same, you're good.

  • Bro, u are a sicker hahaha

    congrats =)

    hope to meet u soon!

    safe

  • Nice form. Do you blog your workouts or anything?

  • @ManyMovements nah i dont but i am tempted to start doing something iike that. you know any good training blogs i could check out ?

  • 95kg seems a lot to split squat, but I've never tried 1rm ss.

    I am impressed (in ignorance)

  • @Teghead yeah i dont know if its good ether. how much weight/reps do you normally lift with bluarians

  • @bobbyatopk 50kg for 10 reps. I think.

  • almost didn't recognise you with that hat on bubbles...

  • Awesome stuff bro!

  • you monster.

  • Nice strong work. Looking pale though. Think you need to fly out to L.A and see me for a few days :p

  • IMPRESSIVE!!!!!

  • Damm beast! Realy strong!

Keep training and getting stronger, peace

  • it`s BOBBBBYYYY!

  • looking solid! so if you are slow or fast twich dominant should you limit yourself to that type of training? im slow twitch dominant in bench and overhead press, but i would like to raise my 1rm

  • @teamjinsoku i dont think it affects how you should train really. it could say what you are naturally predisposed to being good at.

if your slow twitch dominant you could try to change that to some extent ( its also partly genetic) by increasing the weight and the rest and reducing the reps.

i have been getting too heavy recently so im going to start doing 3 sets of 3 RM with full recovery for a while and see how it goes. there are more detailed programs you can check out though online.

  • @teamjinsoku i seem to do well at 3x5-8, but my 1rm on most of my upper body lifts is low compared to my 3 and 5 rm.

  • are you only training at home?

  • @kalonjikalonji yeah pretty much. i might sign up for the gym again soon so i can do more squatting

  • @bobbyatopk allright. can you maybe send me your program?

  • Beastman. I need to buy some more weight. I've only got 40kg at the moment.

  • Wow! Sick man!

  • Its really great to watch you again !! amazing strenght. how is your flex progress?

  • Yo bobby good stuff bro.

  • @conditioningdaniel thanks man. your one arm pullups are looking sick by the way

  • @bobbyconditioning shit man that's a hell lot of weight for bsq. What's your vertical?
