Well if you had any knowlage of subaru's you'd know that the fenders are all the same and in this video its an 06/07 model where the hoodscoops are the same on both sti and wrx. I find it hilarious that everyone chirps hondas because theyre slow. Id rather have an rsx type s for 20 grand and put a turbo on it and use the extra 30 grand you would spent to buy an sti to make the rsx blow it outta the water

All turbo cars are SLOW .That's why manufacturers like VW,Subaru and Mitsubishi have to use turbos.Because they know their NA engines are rubbish in delivering power and torque.

Alright you gotta understand that the Rsx has a 2.0L n/a and the Sti has a 2.5L Turbocharged engine. Put a turbo on an Rsx and it would beat an Sti easily, on a roll though. But on a dig, 4WD with 2-Step beats all from the line.

my modded 2.0 stock turbo wrx runs mid to high 12s all day, of course the tranny is built and can withstand launches. wrx's weigh 3085, STi weighs 3265 depending on what year. Thats almost 200 lbs right there. STi has to shift into 5th gear, wrx only into 4th
also sti's have much better transmissions, so while u drag ur wrx a few times and have to rebuild ur tranny, those of us with sti's will still be racing.
how long ago were the tickets, cuz as long as u dont get anymore tickets they should be off ur record in like 1-2 years. I am planning on getting a used 06 or 07 sti (hopefully a nice used 08, just cuz they are newer) early next year, they are sick ass cars with one of the most unique exhaust notes in the world.
if u have an sti which has a very durable transmission it is ok to do it when u take it to the track a couple times on weekends or w/e, of course there is strain, but even on the 09 wrx, to get a 4.7 0-60 u have to launch it at 6 grand as well, except u have to do it alot less in that car cuz its tranny isnt so good. The sti's tranny however has been regarded as "bullet proof" by many reviewers, it can handle some launches.
look at the start dude, he didnt do it right, trust me, i have a legacy wagon and that thing lanches and my dad had an imprezza that launched even better.

Also didn't hear that boxer rev till 0:20, the driver needs to rev it and drop the clutch, AWD is better than FWD for launching, more traction, LSD or ATD, plus the weight with the g-force shifts to the back, making FWD less effective.

it's not the clutch. STi tranny is bulletproof. the problem is that most STi drivers don't know how to launch worth a damn. they think dropping the clutch from 5000rpm makes them go fast off the line. thing is, it's awd not 2wd. dropping works for 2wd cars but doing it on awd just bogs the engine.
STi drivers need to learn how to slip the clutch. it's annoying watching STi's snail through the starting line.

Alright you gotta understand that the Rsx has a 2.0L n/a and the Sti has a 2.5L Turbocharged engine. Put a turbo on an Rsx and it would beat an Sti easily, on a roll though. But on a dig, 4WD with 2-Step beats all from the line.

@hotshotlot my buddy has a type s putting out around 450hp. turboed. off a digg he sits still due to bad tires but catch him on a 30 roll and hell blow an sti out. with good tires hed still blow and sti out come to think of it...but its been said b4 i can make a minivan faster than an sti it all depends on the build and driver this has nothing to say about the manufacturer at all

my modded 2.0 stock turbo wrx runs mid to high 12s all day, of course the tranny is built and can withstand launches. wrx's weigh 3085, STi weighs 3265 depending on what year. Thats almost 200 lbs right there. STi has to shift into 5th gear, wrx only into 4th

if u have an sti which has a very durable transmission it is ok to do it when u take it to the track a couple times on weekends or w/e, of course there is strain, but even on the 09 wrx, to get a 4.7 0-60 u have to launch it at 6 grand as well, except u have to do it alot less in that car cuz its tranny isnt so good. The sti's tranny however has been regarded as "bullet proof" by many reviewers, it can handle some launches.

RSX: About 2850Lbs, STi: about 3300Lbs, thats a 450Lb difference.
But, RSX (assuming RSX-S) is 13.6Lbs per HP
STi is 10.8Lbs per HP so better hp-weight
Also didn't hear that boxer rev till 0:20, the driver needs to rev it and drop the clutch, AWD is better than FWD for launching, more traction, LSD or ATD, plus the weight with the g-force shifts to the back, making FWD less effective.

First Of all I love both Scoobys and Hondas.
For different reasons. Just because someone wants to make a light n/a car doesn't mean that their wrong, and just because someone wants to drive a turbo ecno-car doesn't mean there wrong either.
Personally I've shopped a WRX and a Type S for my next cars. They each have huge advantages. The obvious one is the WRX having much more torque via turbo. The RSX weights rough four fifths the wrx

it's not the clutch. STi tranny is bulletproof. the problem is that most STi drivers don't know how to launch worth a damn. they think dropping the clutch from 5000rpm makes them go fast off the line. thing is, it's awd not 2wd. dropping works for 2wd cars but doing it on awd just bogs the engine.
STi drivers need to learn how to slip the clutch. it's annoying watching STi's snail through the starting line.

lawl 4banger. like i said, learn to drive. most magazines list the 06 STi at 13.3, and i've personally driven mine to 13.1 stock. your problem is that you think dropping the clutch from 5000rpm is a proper launch which is why you're putting down slow times with your "friend's" STi, assuming you've ever even driven one. it's not like launching a 2wd card bud, it's completely different mechanics. learn to launch, then talk.

While most 4 door cars are heavier, it's still a negligible difference so stop trying to sound like you know anything.

Weather conditions, sport package vs none, condition of the drag strip (traction).

let me add a little bit more. a WRX with just an exhaust like you mentioned will not even come close to beating an STi unless the STi driver is asleep. you'll need at least intake, exhaust, and reflash to beat a stock STi.
