Life on Earth has been evolving for over 4 billion (4,000,000,000) years now. Consider the time between Jesus' life and the present, just a mere 2,000. That's 2 million times shorter, and even that is an impossible length of time to comprehend, as we humans live for a mere ~80 years or so.

  • @VideoGameWalk

It's easy to look at evolution and say "this couldn't possibly happen", because the differences between different organisms seem so pronounced. A common question is "how could one become the other?" This is a misunderstanding of how evolution works. Organisms that exist today did not evolve from each other, but from a common ancestor with traits of both species, over the course of millions of years.

Many people have difficult grasping time on such an enormous scale.

  • @manjyoumethunder **billions of years

  • @VideoGameWalk

Life came to arise on Earth via abiogenesis, through which complex organic molecules such as amino acids were formed through chemical reactions in Earth's primitive atmosphere. The earliest forms of life were very simple, but were able to split and replicate themselves, as bacteria.

As they split and replicated, they made small errors. The process is not perfect. These errors accumulated and gave rise to new forms of life, millions of different and unique life forms.

A scientific theory is not a shot in the dark or a guess. The colloquial definition of theory is very different than the scientific definition. Other things that are "theories" include gravity, and the shape of the Earth. In fact, we understand evolution a lot better than we understand gravity.

Furthermore, the universe is extremely vast and complex. Our one planet represents not even a speck of dust in the cosmic ocean. To believe that we were divinely created is narcissistic.

  • If god created the universe then god and the universe are both separate and therefore finite - if god is finite why call it god?

  • Comment removed

  • @VideoGameWalk Because we actually do have more credible theories than "a wizard did it."

The problem is that you're probably talking to someone who HASN'T done the research. I could look up these theories if you're interested.

  • Why can't we just call the theory of evolution and the fact of evolution by different names. I'm so sick of people who can't tell the difference.

  • Creationists say they have the conclusion and look for facts to support it.

We find facts and draw conclusions from them.

  • Someone tell me why when an evolutionist says they don't know how the earth started, the creationist assumes it was created by god.I don't see the connection.

  • LOL I'm christian and this was really funny

  • Dammit, I normally hate this show, but when it hits, it hits hard.

  • awesome!

  • PivAd123: I have no idea of what your talking about saying I lied to you. I don't need to lie about salvation, as the word of God validates itself.

  • @1LonePuma No it doesn't, the "word" of god was written by man, inspired by man, and manipulated over the centuries by man. At no point does God ever enter into the "word" he's ascribed too. Even if you claim God was the inspiration for the Bible/quran/torah whatever. God clearly had no editorial control over the process. Showing either he didn't care about his word, or he didn't have the power to change it. So even if your God does exist, he clearly doesn't take his holy book serious.

  • @1LonePuma you don't have to lie. The bible does it for you.. evilbible . com/jesus_false . htm <--- 50 scriptures from the bible proving jesus was a false messiah

  • @1LonePuma lol

  • blarghblarghblar:

If you read Mathew, Mark, Luke and John I'm sure you find their account to be aboveboard. You can also read Isaiah 53, which also tells of the Messiah being nailed to the cross for your sins, if you decide to take him at his word. That is what Christianity is founded on.

  • @1LonePuma Funny, I would love to see an acceptable source for this "documented" fact. Also, you should read about how god's "unchangeable and perfect" word screws up about 400 times, as well as saying the earth is flat, on pillars, and is surrounded by water.

  • @1LonePuma Ironically the comment made by 1LonePuma is a lie.

  • i loved the huge clap by the audience.

  • Am I the only one that noticed the sexy legs...?

  • I want to get together with Sheldon's mom and make a little brother or sister for Sheldon.

    Damn, she's hot! Nice legs.

  • Maybe this will help:

Einstein's Theory of General Relativity describes how gravity works. Gravity is a fact. General Relativity is the theory. The Theory of Evolution describes how evolution works. Evolution is a fact. Random mutation and natural selection is the theory.

  • @drche420 well actually, you have it backwards, evolution is the theory while random mutations and natural selection are fact because they can be observed; like we can observe gravity is a fact because things that are dropped fall.

  • @iHeartElectricalEng

I'm afraid you, sir, have it backwards. Don't be embarassed, it happens to the best of us.

Natural selection and randomn mutation are the expanations to how evolution occured. The theory is constantly argued because it is an explanation of the facts. Evolution itself, however, is a fact known to be true for hundreds of years.

  • @drche420 again, random mutation and natural selection are not THEORIES they are FACT; they can be physically observed; Evolution is the theory that describes how these two natural obervable processes contribute to the evolution of a species. Evolution is a fact in the sense that is describes the effects of two facts.

  • @iHeartElectricalEng

Haha you still have it completely backwards. Natural selection is the theory that explains how evolution occurred. If you don't believe me, look it up. Or better yet, ask your science teacher.

  • Even as a strong Christian, I find Creationism a little far-fetched.

For a start, why did God create the earth in SIX days to get one day off, when He could have created it in ONE day and got SIX days off!

  • @Wattywatasaurus Well said ;)

  • @Wattywatasaurus well said, but i just wonder, did he even need one day, if he is all powerfull? couldn't he like, use five minutes of something :P

  • @Wattywatasaurus OR, or create it all in a snap, and have the rest of his existence off!

  • @Wattywatasaurus He took that day off to watch the superbowl

  • @Wattywatasaurus I've never heard that before, lol nice job. (seriously)

  • @Wattywatasaurus Oh yeah, right - you're a REALLY strong Christian!

Then I will tell them plainly, `I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

  • Evolution may not be a fact as 1+1 makes 2, but is sure beats creation in its credibility.

  • @niels2112 actually...evolution IS a fact like 1+1=2

  • Comment removed

  • Sheldon's mom has some nice legs.

  • @FamilyOfMan1975 damm straight

  • creation doenst explain dino bones! HA :D

  • I'm Sure G.W. Bush hates this Show...

  • This is what we need more of, entertainment that gives evolution deniers a well deserved ridiculing.

  • @fundiebasher well that's ignorant of you

  • @coldwave44 No it's not.

  • @9hello123 How is it not? To bash people because of beliefs? To make yourself seem better than creationists because you don't believe what they do? I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with evolution or creationism but that does not mean creationists "deserve" a ridiculing. Nobody deserves ridicule for their beliefs.

  • @coldwave44 If people are being idiots, they deserve to be ridiculed for being idiots and then hopefully less people will go and join them. Rather than giving idiots some sort of immunity to ridicule making people think that its ok to believe that sort of thing.

  • @9hello123 So you feel that it's wrong and idiotic for someone to believe in a religion and to have that faith? Even if it doesn't make your life any less miserable, you still can't accept anybody who doesn't think the way you do - because obviously you're smartest.

I'll agree that there are some insane and idiotic people who happen to be religious, but there are just as many secular people that are just as crazy. They deserve to be ridiculed for being idiots, not for being religious.

  • @coldwave44 They do when those beliefs are ridiculous.

  • This is why nerds rock!

  • Lol Evolution was never proven!

    where's the missing link?

  • @Chimenko89 evolution IS proven, it's not just a theory based on reason and logic (and of course it's working)... there are a lot of missing links, but you can predict the difference (see evolutionary taxonomy), from DNA, proteins and stuff.

  • @batleetheonly thats why it still a theory..

  • @neoxavier "thats why its still a theory" Are you serious? germs are still a theory, gravity is just a theory, but i doubt you will go jump off a building.

  • @420simpson I completely agree with evolution and to disagree with evolution is ridiculous, but I hate it when people start going on the "gravity is just a theory" bandwagon, it just makes you seem like an idiot to anyone that actually understands.

There is a law of gravity and a theory of gravity. The theory of gravity at this point no one has any real idea whether or not its even vaguely correct, it's the law of gravity we know is very close to the truth. The theory we have no idea.

  • @9hello123 The theory is just the EXPLANATION of how a phenomenon occurs. A scientific law is an analytic statement, usually with an empirically determined constant. A theory may contain a set of laws, or a theory may be implied from an empirically determined law.

  • @Edu2503 Yes I know. When did I mention anything different?

  • @9hello123 Shit! Sorry, the comment wasn't for you :P

  • @420simpson Erhm gravity is a fact. Bacteria is a fact, and big bang is still JUST a teori . What made that explosion occur? Why did the explosion eccur? what was there before the explosion ? Nothing happens of it self thats a fact!

  • @sivasaner gravity is a theory and a fact. bacteria is a theory and a fact. Its called germ theory. cells are a theory, the theory of relativity is a theory, atoms are theory-atomic theory, and evolution is a theory. it wasnt an explosion it was an expansion. There are things called books you can read on these subjects. idk if your comment was sarcasm or not, sorry if you were joking, i couldnt tell.

  • @420simpson Then what cause the expansion ? did it happend of it self or was it cause by a something? Nothing happends without someone or something putting it in motion

  • @sivasaner "nothing happens without someone or something putting it into motion" no one actually knows that, especially if the laws of nature dont even exist yet, which would be the case before the big bang. and secod if nothing happens without someone or something putting it into motion, then what put god into motion. if you claim god doesnt need a creator, then why does the universe?

  • @420simpson Its because god is ethernal dont need anything or anyone nothing can create itself it needs a creator.

  • @420simpson . Creation makes no sense at all. Why would an intelligent , loving god, create life and cut it down even before birth. ?( 4,500.000 stillbirths a year world-wide). Why would he create life, let it love and be loved and cut it down in the first year of life ? (5,000,000 deads in the first year ) It makes no sense, unless we deal with a super-sadist god.

  • @tallliza I think you meant to say this comment to someone else. I'm an atheist.

  • @420simpson Yeah. Greetings.

  • @tallliza. the best part is that the christians then throw a fit about abortion. Lol

  • @sivasaner then what the fuck created god?

  • @Jakster840 Nothing because the creator is eternal otherwise the creator would'nt be the creator since something would have created him

  • @sivasaner if you assume that there is an eternal creator, then why not just cut out the middle man and assume that the universe is eternal

    Occam's razor FTW

  • @jimmy20100102 Because the univers can't creative. The earth and the moon cant just change direction if it wants. Its depending on something to change it. Im asking you then how did the univers eccur? Did it just come out of nothing? Why does that not happen now? Since humans have recorded history nothing like that have happened. So why would it do that back then?

  • @sivasaner the same question could be directed to the existence of a God. Did it just come out of nothing?

If you answer "yes", then why can't the universe come out of nothing? Personally, I do not believe that something can come from nothing, so the universe must have always existed.

How do you know that universes aren't being created right now? A universe doesn't need to be connected to ours to exist.

There is just absolutely no logical way to justify the existence of a God

  • @sivasaner When our particular universe first sprung into existence and created time itself, all of the matter we perceive today was compressed into the size of a tiny subatomic particle. Your poor examples of the Earth and Moon are on the macro scale, but it is entirely within the realm of quantum physics for a particle to suddenly appear just as our the universe did. I don't want to insult you, but it seems to me that you are arguing at the middle school level... Glad to see thought though.

  • @420simpson Why are you convincing him to not kill himself , let him try being a scientist , he can start by figuring out how gravity works , tell me how it goes btw.

  • @420simpson Maybe he will jump off a building so that he can disprove the theory of Gravity.

  • @420simpson We can see the effects of gravity here and now - evolution is all in the way distant past: 16 bazillion years ago... blah blah

  • @jbooks888 umm the universe isn't even 16 billion years old, so how would life be that old. and we can see evolution happening here and now. take wild foxes and domesticate them like we did with the wolf and their tail shape changes, and their fur color changes. we observed a lizards digestional intestines and jaw bone shape completely alter after changing its diet. we see bacteria mutate and become resistant to bacteria, we have ring species, ect....

  • @420simpson What we see is adaptation - I'm talking about the 'other' kind of evolution - where one species becomes another - NO ON HAS EVER SEEN IT! There is no evidence for it. Never happened, never will. Thank you and good night. Now piss off.

  • @jbooks888 because evolution doesnt say one species becomes another isntantly like you think. so your view on evolution is just a straw man fallacy. speciation of 1 population dividing and not being able to breed with eachother any longer takes centuries you idiot, & actually we can essentially see this in ring species. & separate species that have very recent common ancestors still have the potential to breed such as dogs evolving from wolves or that tigers and lions can give birth.

  • @420simpson Oh, I see - it all happened so slowly and so long ago that there is no way to actually verify it! That's a copout. I'm really tired of arguing about this. If you truly believe that this amazingly complex and obviously designed world just happened with no intelligent input, that the language of DNA just arose by itself, by chance, however you want to put it - then go right ahead. But I know the real reason you refuse to believe the Bible. You don;t want to submit to God!

  • @jbooks888 wtf. I just gave you examples of observations of it. Ring species. we have the miacids which weren't even under the family canine and evolved into wolves. those are separate species idiot. if you think earth is designed perfectly for us, then why do people need to use sun screen in the summer just to prevent being burnt or getting skin cancer, or have to wear coats just so they dont freeze to death. we have to filter water just to drink it so we dont die. nice design

  • @420simpson Well if you ever tried to educate yourself and read the Bible, you'd know that the earth was cursed after Adam and Eve sinned - it was originally created perfect - weeds, and all sorts of nasties were subsequently introduced. BTW, turdblaster - wolves and dogs ARE indeed the same species - ignorant twat.

  • @jbooks888 no shit they are...thats why they can breed and have non sterile offspring. miacids are not dogs or wolves. they are extinct idiot., and they werent even canines, yet eventually gave rise to the canine family moron. you do realize even if evolution was disproved tomorrow, that wouldnt prove creationism. and ive read the bible, its a pretty evil book based on a blood human sacrifice. and no not just the OT is evil the new testmanet says women cannot speak in churches...

  • @420simpson The Bible also says that the preaching of the gospel is foolishness to those who are perishing - are you perishing? Are you on that slippery slope to hell, my friend? Hmm, are You?

  • @jbooks888 no I'm not on a slippery slope to hell....cuz there isn't such a place, however the christians stole the concept of hell from past religions, just like they stole toe story of jesus....horus was believed in before christ, and guess what horus was born on dec 25, born from a virgin, killed, ressurected on the 3 day, preformed miracles ect....so your religion is basically a plagarism of past zombie stories. congrats.

  • @420simpson there's a whole debate as to the validity of those claims - I personally don't think it's worth getting into, but don't for one second think that what you stated is actually a historical, proven fact.

  • @jbooks888 so you don't accept science and now you dont accept history. good to know. gives me a reason to end this discussion cuz you are a conspiracy theorist nut case who thinks the earth is 6000 years old and that snaks can talk.

  • @420simpson Whatever - you're boring me now.

  • @420simpson This video should put you on the right track:

    watch?v=CqQCXCfU2Gk

  • @neoxavier Oh and by the way, a theory in science never becomes a law.

  • @420simpson thumbs up for this a million times.

  • @batleetheonly actually, technically speaking it is not proven, nothing in science is. It is just presented as facts. Science is not mathematics

  • @Chimenko89 are you serious?

  • @TheCrappyaccount uh-huh...

  • This is so true...

  • It is genuinely sad that this is based on how people really act.

    Evolution. Its a fact!!!

  • ROFL! I don't watcxh television -- only retards watch TV -- however this was amusing.

  • @AngryNotSoOldHippy ; I wish I had a TV so that I could watch this show.

  • @AngryNotSoOldHippy If no one watched TV then ratings go down so that there won't be any shows like TBBT to watch on the internet. Therefore, saying only retards watch TV makes the retards the smarter ones because they actually care about the future of our favorite shows. The point I am trying to make is that you are being a jerk in stating that it's stupid to watch TV. Next time think before you post. Thanks

  • @lenordlion It depends, you see, in Asia people have programs that stream movies & series, w/ 30 s ads before & after the feature & a pop-up when the program starts. Hardly anyone aged 16-30 uses a TV there. In Central Europe TV stations broadcast via Internet & people have programs recording their shows & moving them on their laptops. Most younger people use that method. I don't know about N. America , but elsewhere TV & Internet are more & more fusing, the former moving into the latter.

  • :) yay i love this show!
