you are beautiful. :) you have an amazing body type and you are an inspiration.
i'm 20 right now and right now its my second time taking beginning ballet at my college. <3 and i want to take more ballet classes 4 times a week for a month and a half for 2-2 1/2 hours.
It doesn't bother me that your technique is bad. It bothers me that you claim to have been dancing en pointe for 10 years. If you have been dancing en pointe that long and still look like this, you need a new teacher. And that skinny girl behind you should not be en pointe at all yet. Her ankles are clearly not strong enough yet...
How cruel people can be when they have computer screens to hide behind! I am 23 and just had my first pointe class this week. I am in no ways thin. My turnout may not be fantastic. And I may occasionally be off balance, but at least I love myself and work hard everyday to be happy and have fun!
All of you who are saying such mean things should examine yourselves and love yourselves wholly instead of being hateful to others!
@oseycat it's one thing to be a beginner, but this girl claims that she has been on pointe for 10 years... if that's true, she needs to stop paying whoever she is paying for classes because they have NO CLUE what they're doing
@LuthSparky, I'm sorry but if u WERE a professional, you should know that they dont forget their technique, no matter how much time they stop dancing. I'm really nobody to tell you that you havent been dancing since you were 3 years old or anything.. you could have, but your technique doesn't show it. And if you've been enpointe since you were 10, and youre like, 23 now? you shouldnt look that awkward dancing en pointe. But anyways, keep dancing!
@writer13426, shes not fat, the fact that shes not a freaking anorexic toothpick dosnt make her fat! and btw im not calling every ballerina anorexic. im a ballerina, i eat and im still 103 pounds and im not anorexic.
youre off center, no turn out. poor technique, looking down the entire time, your arms are bent and turned down, i see no plausable position of your feet or arms at time during this "exercise". your feet are extremly spread out during the turn, im amazed they allow you on pointe i looked like this when i started pointe at the age of 10.
Ive been doing pointeclasses since I was 10 and Im now 21, I seriously know what im doing. The reason I 'look down' is because we probably learn a different style of ballet than you do and we need to look in our hands. I actually have a good fifth position, not overturned out but knees straight above feet, if you call that no turnout than Im so sorry for your knees in about 10 years because they will be completely ruined for the rest of your life.
@LuthSparky turning out should not hurt your knees... if it hurts your knees, then you're doing it wrong. you can keep your knees over your feet and still have better turn out. Turn out is in your hip sockets, not your knees...

im actually ON center otherwise you would have seen me falling of my pointeshoes the entire time. Seriously woman what the hell do you know about ballet? Obviously not much. Oh and btw I have been a pro dancer for 3 years.
lmfao don't fool yourself, you were a pro where? in what world??? i don't know of any sane company in the world that would let you near an audition with your technique... who the hell put you on pointe??? they should be shot...and banned from ever teaching ballet again... skeetske comment is correct...
and i agree with forever4micky that you are off centre which btw also doesn't help your turnout and no style of ballet teaches to look down because it throws you off and mess up your placement and before you question my and others validity maybe you should do so to your own
well it really depends on what youre teacher thinks and how good your feet are, i can tell you though that the first year you would probably not go en pointe, after that its up to your teacher really.
I am not seeing how you would over turn out. To me, from what I have seen here and in your other videos, it seems you have very little natural turn out. Do you mean your knee was injured from forced turn out?
i dislocated my knee from ballet, and my orthopedics doctor fitted me to a brace with bars on each side of the knee to keep it in place, like a tensor bandage, and its less bulky
Actually this movie is about the front girl with the black skirt and kneeband, that would be me yes...the rest of the students are not to be commented on. Besides half of that class is a BEGINNER pointeclass so you cant expect people to be perfect
Uhm well actually I need new pointeshoes because im standing OVER my boxes, theyre too soft for my feet. Im definitly not falling of these ones, Ive never stood stronger en pointe than this.
het zou allemaal zovell mooier zijn als je niet naar de grond keek. Trouwens het meisje rechts achter je lijkt mij nog niet echt klaar voor deze moeilijkheidsgraad op pointes
@Quiltinguk Good God, what a rude comment. A dancer is a dancer no matter their size.

Does my bum look big in this?
YES
Have you auditioned for the role of Miss Piggy?
You stand a good chance of getting it as you won't need any padding.

Foreva4micky Yes I agree with you unfortunatly. Have of them have there arms to high.and then some don't pointe there feet when suppose to.
