@JimmerGstring, You blame the president? Are you retarded? Do you blame Bush for the spy plane that went down in China? You do realize that presidents don't fly these things from the oval office, right?
I disagree with both. The Russian and Chinese have Drones like these. The Russian and the Chinese now can learn more about the Tech and how to deal with them.I applaud the "Go USA" but in real life countries all over the world can come up with High Tech. For example the Japanese have made leaps in the future with out the help of the US Tech Industries. To say the US is the only country in the world that can produce High Tech is just plain dumb and a little Racist.
@211Alucard Good point, Iran has an advanced drone tech industry itself, Iran has high tech drones both spy and attack drones, that is why they could brings this bird down after ambushing it electronically, Iran's IRGC said this drone had self destructive mechanism and that was also disabled by the Iranians experts so they can get their hand on the drone, Iran has shot down dozens of U.S drones before, but they wanted to catch this baby alive.
Irans tech industry is still quite young. Many countries are making progress but the US is still ahead of the world in terms of its drone technology and military robotics. There's a big reason why to and its not American engineers themselves but its the ability to attract so many engineers from abroad. The H 1b visa is huge for America and its economic survival. Look at the Manhattan project, some of the biggest scientists involved were in fact German.
@211Alucard I am talking about the EMP tech which I doubt that Iran could employ effectively in this case, and which I doubt R and/or C have had much opportunity to test against real US systems. Aside from that, analysis of US tech is very valuable regardless of what R & C may have developed since defensive weaknesses are critical. Also, the sensor tech is vastly more interesting than the stealth tech which is becoming old hat (again, except for discovering weaknesses.)
@211Alucard, Russia, China and Iran all have high tech capabilities, just not to the same degree as the USA. That's just a fact. And there is no evidence for any of them having drones that are as advanced as the USA drone programs, although that may change in the future.
A hypothesis: Iran lured the drone in with something interesting and located it visually. Then popped it with and EMP weapon which froze all electronics including possibly the self destruct circuits. Possibly the weapon was missile mounted to attack from above, and likely a joint operation involving Chinese or Russian systems.
WELL NO SHIT IT'S REAL. OBAMA IS JUST GIVING AWAY ALL OUR TECH. MORE THAN ANY OTHER PRESIDENT. THIS IS JUST A TOTAL DISASTER FOR US, MY GOD.
