Mulcahy began as an amusing, refreshing counterpoint to the drinking, womanizing, overall shenanigans of the rest of the camp. But as all of the other characters became bland do-gooders, his role as the moral foil became less and less interesting/relevant. By the end, Hawkeye, BJ, Margaret, Potter, etc. were all holier than thou, the only difference was that Mulcahy actually wore a cross.
didn't i see this on Frazier, Father mulcahey?amdg
Ayn Rand Zane Grey
shiver me timbers hawkeye, we got a high response to crabapple cove when Obama raised the liberal douchebag level to AAnegative. It's that's standard & poors has alwaysblamed fairly responsible people or is the first president to call Rizzo a Creole?
Ironically, Father Mulcahy is actually one of the role models for me becoming a chaplain. I've always loved his compassion and understanding for his spiritual patients. Thanks so much for posting this -- fits him perfectly!
@KillThatUnicorn14 he played the role brilliantly- seemingly meek, almost always humble-but underneath he had the couarge of a lion and the heart of a figher when it cam to saving not only lives, but souls. I love that he was a boxer, as well, because it helped me understand a person can be tough and gentle all at the same time. And the few times he broke down over something `selfish' (wanting a promotionbut being passed over yet again) it just broke your heart.
I think 3:05 is where we get to see Father Mulcahy's true collors. He was trying to talk some sence into Klinger when he was going to kill maj. Burns with a grenade. Although I think Burns did deserve it, Mulcahy did do the right thing and talked him out if it.

What ep is 1:36 ?! I must know!
I love some of his faces clearly say with he's thinking, before something Holy comes out of the Priest filter. "Just fuck you..." is my favorite.
