The drumsticks in the whacking piece were incorporated to reinforce the drumline theme that CADC was utilizing in this XVC set. Bring it on was a cheerleading movie, this is a collegiate/street hip-hop dance competition held at UCSD, no valid comparison can be made. Thank you for your opinion!
Ok, so I just watched the performance of the team that won and, frankly, I don't see how anyone could compare this piece to the CC piece and come to the conclusion that the CC one was the better of the two but of course I wasn't a judge and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I just think that this performance was much more interesting, fun, and clean...basically this one is just more my taste.
This was VERY good. I'm curious though. I'm not that familiar with this team so I have to ask: Do they usually do stepping in their routines? The reason I ask is that I don't think I remember ever seeing it from anyone in these competitions. Anyway, I think it's good that more people are doing it and it's branching out because for a long time it was only done by black fraternities and sororities. :D
I'm glad you liked it. But the stepping piece was in correlation to our theme. While we do have dancers that have experience in stepping, it's not something we do all the time. I hope that helped.

this is actually our first time incorporating stepping into our routine. we thought that it went well with our theme.
