The first time I heard Jenny sing was in my Great Aunt Ruth's kitchen. Aunt Ruth lived next door to Bud Armel, the bandleader of the first band she ever sang with on stage. My Grandmother's brother live only a few doors away from Mrs, Hilda and Virginia (Jenny) Hensley in Winchester as well. Jenny sang as Jenny Cline after marrying her first husband. Wally Fowler, founder of the original Oak Ridge Boys helped her shorten her middle name Patterson to Patsy; the rest is history.

I lived in KCKS at the time of Patsy's death, and even knew of the Town House Hotel where she played her last concert. Even though I was a child then, I knew and liked her music. My father listened to her. He usually had rotten taste in music, but he vindicated himself by being a fan of Patsy's.
