Much respect to Paul Stanley, a major rock star, for being honest and humble enough to testify just how unbelievably good Led Zeppelin were in their first few years of existence. I know about a dozen people who saw Zep in their very early prime (1969-'72) and every single one of them to this very day almost get emotional talking about how astonishing they were. It makes me jealous as hell for having missed them.

Zeps first albun didn't even come out till '69....so i'm sure it was just alot of old blues songs that Paul heard.

They had to fulfill contract commitments from the old band, and played in Denmark and England before coming to the US in the Winter of 1968. But it is true all of their 1968 U.S. concerts were on the West Coast, in Denver, Portland. There's a bootleg of their show @ Gonzaga University, the last show in 1968. Their first show in NYC was in January 1969 @ the Fillmore East.
