I like the Swan Princess, one of my faves. But until now, I didn't realize the shallow love Derrik had for Odette, nor, even to this day, understand why she loved him back and wanted him to save her so bad...He only liked her for her looks,...but she seemed all for that later on...*sigh*

@sparrow1380 No, they really loved each other. Derek says at the end of the movie why he loved her so much. Real reasons, I mean. He was just too much of a stupid boy before that to know what he had. I figure Odette knew that. She just wanted him to grow up a bit first.

@sparrow1380 Nooo! That's not it~! Derek had true love for her, he just didn't know how to quite explain or describe it! If you watch the movie again he is verbally handicapped in the situation, stunned by her beauty and at a loss for words.

LOL, the scene after he messes up is TOO funny!!! Only now after how many years do I get the humor in that scene. This was SUCH a GOOD movie, it should've done WAY better!!! It was funny, charming and delightful in every sense of the word!

The Swan Princess was an awesome movie even though it didn't do so well. I first saw it on Cartoon Network's Cartoon Theater. As I aw on a another behind the making that the talking voice of Odette couldn't sing so that's why they got Liz Callaway for the songs. Howard McGillin has the best voice for singing and talking he voiced the Pince. Hope they can play this movie on Encore or HBO since they never play it anymore.

Hey, try comparing John Cleese's "HA-HAA!" in this trailer to that in the movie. Try even Jack Palance's "Don't Give me that look, missy" here to that in the movie, the song that goes (in the trailer) "Forever in my heart, you're all the love I've known and, even though you're calm, as long as I hold on, I'll never be alone" with "Far Longer Than Forever", and the use of the lyrics that go "Just the thought that crowned Prince Derek'll face this choice and he's hysterical" here and in the movie.
