  • its shrek!

  • Way better than the version on the actual soundtrack,

  • so many singers sang this song who is the original composer of this song?

  • @angelina80486

    I think it's Jeff Buckley ;-)

  • @angelina80486 I'm pretty sure it was Leonard Cohen.

  • @angelina80486 get to wkipedia, leonard cohen wrote it..,)

  • Im crying... Why Im crying !?! I dont know....

  • 35 idiots would dislike dis

  • this is not the version from the movie.

the version done in the movie is by Leonard Cohen.

    good try.

  • who sing this?

  • amazing sex scene. Expect I would have given her a moustache ride.

  • @YeUnTrollAbleTroll That was actually one of the corniest sex scenes I've ever seen.

  • I love it how people are talking about religion but wasn't this song in the scene where Laurie and Dan fuck?

  • human bean juice

  • shret

  • @ReparacionesGEEK shret ??????????

  • @edgard90834 Sorry, I meant shek

  • @ReparacionesGEEK You meant Shrek

  • @puffywaffles you and him meant watchmen.

  • @panchopistolas88 -Well, of course. But remember, that people will have different perspectives on what things stand for. Also, my point I made, was that the existence in these comments of childish arguing over religion, is idiotic. That's all. Sorry if that wasn't too clear. Apologies.

  • I'm not religious.

    But this is fuck*ng great!

  • Rorschach was never intended to be a hero. Yes, he sometimes killed bad people but that doesn't make him good. He was a psychopath. In the graphic novel there's an entire issue/chapter devoted to his insanity.

  • @ManPunch900

He was created to be an antihero - a character who, even though he can be perceived as evil or a psycho, is still rooted for by the audience. (Theres probably a better definition but I reckon this fits the context better!)

  • @upscalemadness oh, if only your trolling weren't so stale.

  • this played during the sex scene

  • Being the religious person that I am, at least I know when NOT to bring it into certain circumstances... This movie has little to nothing to do with religion. So why are there people butting heads about it? This film/comic is about governmental affairs, and the shit waste of society. Thanks.

  • @simpleesaruh Stop being religious

  • @simpleesaruh are you certain that it's not related to religion? Don't you see some kind of allegory of god in Dr. Manhattan?

  • Thumbs Up If Your Still Listening To This In 1834.

  • they were having sex in the movie and they had dat song haha

  • rorsach.. the most epic guy in the movie :D

  • Leonard Cohen is better.

  • Wrong version pff

  • Rorschach has quite the impressive singing voice.

  • Bon Jovi's cover way better

  • i like cheese

THUMBS UP FOR CHEESE ! ;D

  • awww rufus wainwright <33

  • there are one billion versions of this song

  • NOW THERE ISD A EPIC BUTTON! ARE CRIES HAVE BEEN HEARD, AHMEN!

  • This is the Rufus Wainwright version, right? I think it was also on the Shrek soundtrack. Beautiful song.

  • V and Roschach just kinda pwn!!!

  • Doesn't sound like the best song to have sex too..but it is apparently.

  • God bless the Dark Knight... best vigilante... best hero... best human bein on earth... hes really an inspiration of good

  • i first heard this song in shrek

  • I dunno... But i automatically imagine this while the heroes are kicking the asses from the criminals in slow motion XD...

  • 1000 Likes, HALLELUJAH!!!

  • I like the Jeff Buckly version is better.

  • hallelujah...amen,

  • Rufus Wainwright version

  • Was it not Leonard Cohen's version in Watchmen? Is this not the one used in Shrek?

  • @CryogenicAce

yeah, you're right, i like leonard cohen much more tbh but no one seems to agree with me, what does everyone here think?

  • @bziffer I prefer the Brian Fallon version of Hallelujah.. its on youtube check it out

  • @strongfp Nigger?

  • @Diedin2seconds I thought the exact same : D

  • @strongfp RIP Osama Bin Laden, i will always remember you as one of the greats, your almost as great as Hitler or Stalin... RIP

  • @raymanthehedgehog I'd say he was only several million bodies behind either of them

  • @strongfp Osama is still where he was even when 9.11 happened : In his ranch drinking beer with Bush junior. Except if there are people in US still believing the fairy taile about global terrorism

  • @GeorgeofGondor2 You believing in idiotic, half brained conspiracies is worse than people trusting the government and news media. To be in such a shell that you don't believe terrorist networks exist is very sad, but you want to believe that Bush profited from 9/11 as well as thousands of other government officials who would have to be on the take. That's the story you want to believe? So be it.

  • @SoulControllerAve Zeitgeist would be a good start for you

  • @GeorgeofGondor2 Reality would be a good start for you.

  • @SoulControllerAve Nice to see public in US is still drugged from Media brainwashing. Perhaps next time they will "vote democratically" for new anti-constitutional laws after a completely accidental terrorist strike which was planned and executed by some nomads in a cave in the middle of Asia when satellites around the globe can see what type of toilet paper you use, things will change

  • @GeorgeofGondor2 Way to quote some of your infotainment nuggets. The reality is, you're more of a tool than anyone who you claim is "brainwashed" because you truly believe that these conspiracies are real, yet you haven't done anything about them. You probably just smoke pot and watch loose change or zeitgeist and are convinced by paper thin arguments/evidence that there's always something sinister behind world events.

  • @GeorgeofGondor2 And please, explain what Satellite technology has to do with hi-jacking an airplane. How does that relate to anything here? What about 9/11 is considered "accidental"? There was nothing accidental about it. The only problem with modern technology is morons with useless opinions now have a soapbox to voice their moronic claims/ideas to other morons who think identically. You are no crusader of truth, you're a sheep following someone else's "research".

  • @SoulControllerAve Are you through?

  • @GeorgeofGondor2 Good boy. Like all conspiracy theory advocates you lack anything credible to your argument.

  • @SoulControllerAve Nope, actually i could be talking to you about this matter for hours if not for days. But since you appear to be the average brain washed from the media american citizen, i would be just wasting my time. Keep up the holy crusade against global terrorism and go enlist in the Marines so you can have a chance to kill innocent civilians in the name of world peace

  • @GeorgeofGondor2 The words of a fool mean nothing, you could type conspiracy theory bullshit for years and it wouldn't make a difference. You'd still be an ignorant moron. Media? Yea I don't waste my time watching Cable news programs anymore than I've wasted watching films like loose change and zeitgeist. Why don't you at least try to explain why there are no credible experts testifying to your 9/11 theory? Just name some.

  • @SoulControllerAve Zeitgeist IS actually a documentary for 9/11 and i strongly recommend you to watch it

  • @GeorgeofGondor2 I've seen them. They are more full of shit than every comment you've typed on here. I don't say this because I'm "brainwashed by the media" I don't spend much time using it. I've actually considered evidence from both sides and realized which side all the real experts are actually on, and realizing that the conspiracy advocates have none. Like I said, go ahead and name some credible witnesses/experts in these films.

  • @strongfp NICE!!!

  • @strongfp cool?

  • @strongfp damn?

  • @strongfp I find it curious how religious most Americans are - yet they are unaware that God never condones violence so to condone it is to go against God.

  • @KYMBT My buddy wrote the comment at a party while I was logged in. Take a look at my profile... I am far from religious.

  • @KYMBT Might want to reread the bible if you think god doesn't condone violence. lol lol lol

  • @Pyrela Genocide, stoning children, oh yes, lovely god.

  • @KYMBT Being the Atheist i am.. Oh nevermind, the bible makes no sense, and I love the song. Peace.

  • @pyromason1123 Hey bro, quick question. You're an atheist right?can you tell me where humans, animals and our environment came from?Just wondering sir.

  • @NefariousNarcissist7 No I can't, sir.

  • @pyromason1123 There you go son.

  • Comment removed

  • @NefariousNarcissist7 from our consciousness everything is made!

  • @strongfp I'm sure I should take that with a pinch of salt, but I just have to say that a violent death at the hands of a state that was easily in a position to arrest and detain him is terrible. He couldn't have won a trial and his crimes would've been recognised properly by everyone - instead he got a very dubious death and his body dumped in the sea. Imperialist mentality is bad.

  • Roschach was no Batman, he was no Spider man or Fantastic Four member. But he killed the bad guys to keep good people from taking the bullet.

  • @MrJackThompson Hey, he was the one with absolutely no compromise, and that is something to adore about.

  • @TeaBaggger that's right

  • @MrJackThompson "Men get arrested....Dogs get put down." We,the people of today, need a hero like him.

  • Rorschach lived by his own moral code, not the government, not religion, HIS!

  • ironically trak run while a gal is banged... and fire is released wen she gets the orgasm, lol

  • the leonard cohen version sounds erotic :P

  • *scene of girl getting banged* LOL best scene! HALLELUJAH!

  • Wow people should talk about sex like that in music, that was awesome!

  • reminds me of the last time i heard this song... at a funeral

  • I cried.

  • rorschach had an extreme position. he thought that whatever the cost, right is right, and wrong is wrong, and as we saw by the end of the movie, not everything is black and white like that. he was wrong, and he deserved to be stopped, but i wish he hadn't

  • Rorschach alone could've watched all men on earth!! screw dr. manhattan and all the other losers!!

  • @aargume1 ehh, did you watch the movie? I don't think he did too well : /

  • every time i hear this song, i picture that chick getting absolutely destroyed.

  • Rorschach

    Dr. Manhattan

    Comedian

    Everybody else

  • None of you seem to understand. I'm not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with *ME*!

  • this song always makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck truly haunting

  • Actually what does this song means talking about ??

  • kinda gay.

  • Comment removed

  • @ReturnOfJackDawson It does make you happy doesn't it?

  • @junglevacuum you mad bro?

  • @ReturnOfJackDawson When people use gay as a substitute for stupid? Ya that pretty much pisses me off. Thanks for caring!

  • @junglevacuum in that case, i think you're stupid, used as a substitute.

  • @ReturnOfJackDawson Appreciated. Have a nice day sir.

  • @ReturnOfJackDawson yes you are.

  • At the end of the movie you understand that the only real Hero there is Rorschach. He was the only one who couldn't sacrifice millions innocent people for billions.

  • "That's the difference between you and me. No compromise, even in the face of Armageddon." -Rorschach

  • Why do so many people mispell Rorschach's name? They obviously never read the comic and only saw the movie. He's named after the ink blot test, it takes less then two seconds to dump it into google to double check any spelling issues. Every video for The Watchmen the first page of comments has it wrong atleast once.

Some of them are so bad it's funny though. :P

  • this isn't Leonard Cohen

  • @VORTEXSWIRL jack-off, this wasn't in the damn movie

  • @painlessissuicide Yea it was, when Night owl II was fucking Silk Specter, watch the movie.

  • @VORTEXSWIRL goddamn you are stupid

  • @painlessissuicide Wow, I'm trying to help and you want to be an ass, go back to fucking you're boyfriend

  • @VORTEXSWIRL was that supposed to be an insult?

  • @painlessissuicide This is the SECON version, iwas saying the first one was n the movie, not sure about ths one.

  • @VORTEXSWIRL again:

    "goddamn you are stupid"

  • @painlessissuicide Wow you're arguing with a 14 year old teen, it was a mistake get over it.

  • @painlessissuicide Thank you captain obvious !!

  • @Devilikg I'm sure you're welcome, retard.

  • @shelbyuzumaki haha dont cry kid !

  • Ah, I would have to say that just because a song is a remake does not mean that it is inferior to the original. The Cohen version, while great lyrics, is just so hokey sounding. Blues are nice and all for the emotional depth of the lyrics, but as far as scope, performance, and musical arrangement, this version (Wainwright) is much more pleasing audibly.

  • @painlessissuicide smarty man.

  • this song is from shrek.... the real version from watchmen is by leonard cohen.....

  • @zombiedanceprod Yeah you're right, this one is from Rufus right?

  • @Dude0Vinni0Dude yeah, i like it still but cohen still remains supreme in my opinion

  • This is Best song to make LOVE to a VIRGIN CHRISTIAN GIRL ......

  • @DoctorComicsCGC lulwut

  • this. is. beautiful

however i must say that i found this AFTER the movie otherwise all the highest rated comments would have spoiled everything for me >;l

  • there should be a watchmen 2 and make it where rorschack had a son o.o that would be fcuking badass

  • @VORTEXSWIRL that would mkae no sense what so ever. rorshach is alos a virgin probably. and if he did have a son he would nt be like rorshach at all. rorshach was normal once

  • The thing is, this world has gone insane. The world is greedy and corrupt, yet when people scream for help, you have no choice. If i could do this, or if anybody could do this, which is give up they're life for peace. But this world is too fucked up to see that, sadly. and i'm saying this generally, that this world needs not a hero, but someone who is willing to take a stand.

  • @bigboigman That's deep!

  • @Exogenesix19 thank you. When i hear songs such as this one, it makes me better understand what the world has come to, thanks for the appreciation.

  • @bigboigman grow a set

  • Hallelujah !!!

  • Leonard Cohen....

    St Laurent....

    Montreal falls...

Pretty girls strolling onthe McGill campus....

    This is city life. Hallelujah!

  • Press F13 for lyrics

  • @WTINMRIH not working for me any ideas?

  • @mishkarap

Smoke more pot...perhaps go to an art fair.

  • @zaxx19 oi what are u talking about?

  • Lenords version is so much better,

  • Rorschach was without a doubt the best character in the history of Superhero films

  • @obrienj93 you mean of VIGILLANTE films, thank you very much. and Rorchach was no hero, he was a disturbed man who refused to compromise with the injustices of the world and wanted to be something better than the standard of man.

  • @marth101 Tell that to famillies of victims of rape, torture and murder and see what their reaction would be if it was the criminal who committed those acts against their daughters, sisters, sons, brothers, mothers and fathers..

  • Comment removed

  • @marth101 There's no such thing as a hero, some people simply act heroic when the situation allows!

Rorchach wasn't a hero, but, he was brave and he never shyed away from acting heroic in any situation. His death was one of the most heroic of any character in any story!

  • @codenamel fail

Later, hero (male) and heroine (female) came to refer to characters who, in the face of danger and adversity or from a position of weakness, display courage and the will for self sacrifice—that is, heroism—for some greater good of all humanity. This definition originally referred to martial courage or excellence but extended to more general moral excellence.

there are such thing called hero/heroes

  • @obrienj93 and what's up whit "V" for " V for vendetta" ? oooOOOoooo

  • @obrienj93 the cool thing is that him didnt consider himself as a superhero

  • @obrienj93 I kind of liked Lux Luthor too, long live Kevin Spacey :p

  • @obrienj93 Almost. V for Vendetta wins :)

  • @blutravenisme Nah!! The Justice League film beats everything else handsdown.

  • Rorshack was the best but it sucks he died

  • @Blazeakan man, i dug rorshach. but im glad he died. this way he stood for something. he was the hero they all needed.

  • Only criticism is that he should have sang 'I used to live alone before I knew YA' instead "you" to make it rhyme.

    Otherwise it's a great version.

  • 18 people are dumb

  • This fits the movie and i love this music but the best version ever made of this music is from Mr Jeff Buckley. I rest my case. :)

  • that soundtrack is from the sex scene lol ?

  • the best version!!

  • What would you rather have, peace, or freedom?

  • @bobobano in america you can have both plus hookers

  • @babablackmon123 HAHAH!

  • @bobobano Freedom

  • @AndMyAxeNew sadly no.It was the 1rst version they picked

  • Don't know if the Rufus Wainwright version was in the film...was it?

  • whats the song at the begining of the movie?Where we see the minutemen

  • @sonicgreen009 that is a bob dylan song called"the times they are a changin'" its an awesome song ,you can search for it on you tube, there are loads of posts even the watchmen begining

  • I thought that the song was appropriate for the sex scene - especially since the song is about an orgasm.
