  • Pink Floyd wrote "Dogs."

  • @BrokenChair88 No, I wrote "Dogs"

  • @BrokenChair88 No, really????

  • I was there. Tried to hitch down the A1, but too many people trying to get to Lundun.

Walked back to my home town and took the train. Lovely warm day. They played Atom Heart Mother. I remember the gong coming off the hangings and crashing off the stage to great cheers from the crowd. Found out what a chillum was. One of the best days of my life.

  • I was there 18 years old a beautiful day sun shining pipe of peace in hand listening to set the controls for the heart of the sun echoing through the city and my mind with such peace and calm this has to be the most beautiful day for all who remember.

    Love and Peace

Dedicate this To Martin Pickard a good friend

  • still have the vinyl of atom heart mother, bought it the week after, scratched to buggery with little pop pop reminders of parties, love the choir singing on it, still play it now and again, sunny day on my farm, blast it out and time shift to back then when men were men and testicles had only recently dropped

  • hyde park where? chicago il

  • @SeniorConcha REALLY?!

  • The Pink Floyd, the magic flows........

  • Yes I was there ;)

  • NO bad comments. Eternal hails to eternal best musicians-FLOYD!

  • Fender bass sound is nice...

  • i was at this concert, right before my 16th birthday, met irish twins in long rabbit fur coats, my friend and i went to their pad and had fried egg sandwiches, smoked my first joint and so forth... got in a lot of trouble when i finally went home. those were the days!

  • @gsmith31154 Jealous? Yes, I am.

  • I LOVE YOU FOR POSTING THESE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember this concert. It basically hung around a promo day for the Harvest record label, fo you had Soft Machine, Edgar Broughton, Roy Harper and I think Kevin Ayers then the Floyd. They finished with Atom Heart Mother with all the bells and whistles, which had just been released. I wandered off near the end, not their greatest work I thought. Or it could have just been the beer.

  • @raymondmalik sting in the ale ;)

  • zenarrrow - i thought your comment was hilarious. everybody else is overreacting to you. they didn't get it

  • Where can the full version of this tune? Love the sound. Please and thanks!! Cheers

  • Damn this sounds awesome.......

  • I was there. it was good, but I got the sense of change in crowds and music maybe a bit less magic than previous hyde park concerts. still very good though.

  • This song is called Dark Side On the Moon. It is about their old lead singer Robert Waters. He died in the insane asylum after the doctors gave him too much acid. I believe this song is on The Division Bell. That is their truly experimental phase. I read a book about these guy's. The older stuff is great eg; Momentary Lapse of Reason and Division Bell. Two works of art. The new stuff like Pulse and Radio KAOS is not as good.

  • @zenarrrow are you high mate?

  • @zenarrrow moron...stop tryin to sound like you're on acid as you think the mindless drivel you wrote actually sounds cool...which it doesnt. You wrote the same crap on another PF video i just watched.Make a sensible comment in future please.

  • @zenarrrow What the hell are you talking about?

  • @Lateralus8808 Fuck all that we got to get on with thiis.

  • @zenarrrow - hilarious comment :-)

  • Ye know something - Cool photos - Cheers

  • se ve que esa presentacion estuvo fuertisima, como la mayoria de los actos en vivo de PF, la mejor banda de rock para mi!

  • WHERE did you find this version of "Embryo"?!!! The quality is fucking amazing!!! Do you have it on MP3?!

  • To lower a sound mp3, you have to lower the program or software, called: jdwonloader and to copy the link of the video of youtube, and it(he,she) will disburden in mp3, regards from Argentina

  • It's called Embryo, TTBOMK it never appeared on an album was a staple part of their concerts in the early 70s.

  • wow, best musik of all time!

  • wow. wow. wow. yes please post full Embryo recording!!

  • GREAT!

  • Rare pictures' thanks for posting........!!

  • да редкое видео! спасибо!

  • Not quite sure what you mean by this comment. The pictures are definitley Hyde park, the audio is from the BBC 'In Concert' show that was broadcast just a few days after the hyde park gig.

  • @kjaywhy have you ever been in a mental hospital?

  • EMBRYO!!! My favourite PF song!!! And fuckin' very high quality stereo!!! Can you post the entire song? Please, please, please...

  • FABULOSO !!!!

  • That is a Fuckn Rockn Embryo!!!

  • Yes my friend, that is from BBC 1970, London.

  • god what i wouldn't give to have been 18 years old in 1970 and see floyd in their prime years. best band ever. their music is incredible.

  • Hahaha! I was 18 in 1970, and if you look carefully you can see me in the audience. I'm the one with the long curly hair and the grey loon pants I bought down Kensington Market. I may well also have dropped a microdot for the Floyd.

  • Where's Syd?

  • dude he was long gone by this time

  • Here you are again with your lack of PF knowledge.. No one listen to zenarrrow he has no idea what he is talking about. your an idiot

  • wow :)

  • Then you must tell me how he could be in a studio in 1975 and see his band recording Wish You Were Here!!! And how he still could record new records and play live long time after 70!!! Lol, doctors at hospital NEVER gives their pacients drugs!! lol.

  • syd died a couple years ago.

  • urm are you retarded? he died in 2006 of cancer. there is elements of truth in what you just said at times during the 80s he is rumoured to have volountarily spent time in a mental hospital but his death had nothing to do with "doctors giving him acid" he had diabities which had given him problems over the years after his acid induced breakdown in 1968 and he eventually died of cancer thats the real story you moron

  • Comment removed

  • dang it just as he starts sing... hahaha great shots!

  • *so jealous* i wish i was old enough to have ever seen them...or maybe ill just figure out how to time travel

  • yeah i wish i coudl time travel or go into a time machine.i was born in 75 and nowadays music is horrible lol.i think i was born in the wrong time seriously lol

  • 83 for me. i absolutely hate the radio, seriously so bad! 70s are 90s are my fav!

  • i'm born in oktober 89! but i've seen pink floyd live! live 8 in london! whit roger! whajoe :D

  • thats totally not fair! i didnt get into them until september! wouldve been nice at least to be 2 years earlier, then iu coulodve at least gone to davids gilmours on an island tour

  • i saw that one two:)

  • Fantastic. Thank you for posting.

  • is robert plant that man who is almost naked at 0:46?

  • HAHA it looks like it

  • According to me he isn't robert.Robert has got blond and curly hair.

  • first time I see Dave with that strato

  • David Gilmoure has always used stratocasters

  • he did use a tele on occasion

  • I mean that particular strato...first time I see it...he usually uses his black super-modifyed strat or the white one n°0001...or the red strat in floyd's later days

  • cool ...35 years later they played there again ...2005 hyde park gig

  • THANKS FOR THAT. truly rare.

  • i LOVE pink floyd instrumentals

  • excellent concert - I was there! Main memory though is of Roy Harper dealing with a middle-aged heckler(!) by telling the audience not to get angry with the heckler - he would be dead before the rest of us....

  • I was there too ! You can see me on the second picture, standing-up just behind the lady lying on the long chair with a white-cap on his head.

  • No that's not you it's me you cunt

  • I would like a copy.

  • Is the sunburst strat Gilmour's using the future "black strat"??? what do you think?

  • I think the black Strat had a maple neck.

  • he changed the neck twice i believe

  • no his black strat was always black..just with a white pick guard..i have no clue about that strat though

  • Cool. I have always wondered how much difference there would be between maple and rosewood.

  • Steve Marriott from the band Humble Pie gave this sunburst strat to David. The neck is a 1963 neck, and the body is a 1959. David would later put this neck on the black strat

  • oh man... miss the 70's

  • Is this Embryo? all i can tell from the studio recording version is the "All this land, is all I am..." at the very end.

  • yeah it's Embryo

  • Yes, asdf3455656 This is Embryo - a live version from the demo that was not supposed to be released (released on an album called Picnic but withdrawn)- you can get a very good version of it from the John Peel sessions

Let me know if you want a copy-OM

  • Thanks, I would love a copy!!!

  • the audio is the bbc version, paris theatre, 1970.

  • were they performing Atom Heart Mother? I was always curious what the band looked like with a brass section and choir on stage when they did that..thanks for filling in the gaps?

  • What do you mean by this exactly? That they wrote the song 'Dogs' or that they wrote crap songs? Or what?

  • I'm spreading the word.

  • they wrote crap songs??????? they wrote the best songs u mean

  • Brokenchair, I still don't understand what on earth you're on about. I can't even tell if you like PF or not from the way you choose to express yourself.

  • Dogs is a song from the 1975 album "Animals", and BrokenChair has kindly decided to post that on every pink floyd video he sees

  • A viewer has complained, rather agressively, that I've only put '16th' of the whole song on video. This is because the video isn't long enough for the whole song and the point of the video is to do with the photographic record of the Hyde Park gig and not the song.

  • @uphollandlatic what song?

  • It's funny, there's so much technology now a days to document every 'turd' band out there. But Pink Floyd put on some of the most legendary shows ever, and there's almost nothing out there in terms of video, photo, or first hand witness in terms of historical record. Long live The Floyd.

  • Amen!

  • this version of Embryo is really amazing

  • wonderful. i was there.

  • I was there in summer 1970 with a friend! It was a phantastic concert. Before Pink Floyd there were Kevin Ayers and the Edgar Broughton Band on stage. Funny mix. I've still got tons of small b&w photos I made during that concert. In summer 1970 I was sweet sixteen and still sooo optimistic. Sadly, that has changed a lot. I think the world we're living in today is shite ... and that's not because I'm simply nostalgic. Life was much better for everybody in the 60s and 70s.

  • Ok, I just noticed that I have to narrow down what I wrote in my last sentence. Life was better for us here in Europe and in the U.S. It certainly wasn't better for the peoples of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

  • yea it was including the race minorities lmao..

  • Yeah--nowadays it's dismal... Music is absolute garbage, politics are a joke, and the US economy is in a fiery tailspin. HELL!

You lucky bastard though! What I wouldn't give to be there at ANY Floyd show! Man.

  • what song is about to start at the end?

  • it's called Embryo

  • very cool

  • At the Doors website I read that Jim Morrison was spotted by this performance.

  • When asked a question about Pink Floyd in an interview conducted in Jan 1971 by Ben Fong-Torres, Morrison said that he really liked them. In fact, he said in the same interview that he had seen Pink Floyd in concert in Hyde Park, England the previous year. This must be it.

  • Excellent photos!! More please
