  • Never expected that Orbison would have covered Williams!!!! This is amazing!!!

  • wow these are the worst songs on the LP

  • Roy's voice was incredible, as usual. However, the producer and/or arranger really blew it on these three cuts. A 1970s-era quasi-funk arrangement doesn't quite work with Hank's stuff. Jambalaya's chart was a rip-off of Elvis's "Such a Night" tune cut in 1960. It worked for that song...but not this one!

  • As much as I like Orbison, this is not a good ode to Hank. Deviates WAY to much from Hank's style.

  • @Zeratul723 But isn't that what he wanted, hence the album title ? I like "Kawliga" but here the sound quality is very average. I have a far better audio quality. I am going to upload this myself in the next week.

  • i'm a huge Roy fan. and i've never heard this before tonight. Incredible combo of Hanks music and Roy's awesome talent.

  • Roy thne wonderboy nr.1!!

  • It's been remastered and is available on CD now.

  • Thank U

  • Roy fantastic voice, this man could sing anything!! RIP

  • wow the man has a great voice he can sing anything thanks for posting this

  • I just was able to afford the one cassette. I only had enough money for one and it broke my heart I didn't have enough to get them both. When I did, I went back to the record store but it was gone and out of print and not even the resourceful manager with his many connections was able to find me a copy. People LOVE Roy ORbison still to this day.

  • Thank you for this

  • He put out an album called "Roy Orbison Sings Hank Williams the Orbison Way" and I always wished I had had enough money on me at the time to buy it but I needed to eat. It was a cassette format and I am sorry I wasn't able to buy it because I tried to buy everything he recorded for the commercial market. I AM A HUGE FAN!

  • How many of those later MGM LPs did you get. Now I'm interested in knowing just what was on them. That was til 1973.

I found a 1983 cassette titled My Spell On You, including Help Me Rhonda, Break My Mind, Only You. That sounds late sixties as if it was an MGM reissue.

  • thanks for posting, Love it. I'd never heard these before.

  • Love "Hey Good Lookin'"... Nice addition to the Roy videos on YouTube.

  • I hadn't heard this before, either! Thanks for sharing, workin'!

I knew he had released this album, but I guess I was wrapped up in 'other' music at the time.....

  • Thanks again.
