@Demonhunter864 Kessler wanted Cole to kill him, as it was the only fitting end. He wanted the person he couldn't be to end him, since he failed to stop the Beast, while Cole would go on to kill it and be the hero Kessler regreted never being.

Cole didn't get reinforcements because the Beast came out of nowhere. Military action takes time to prepare, and the Beast managed to appear and waste an entire city in 10 minutes.

(sighs), let me teach ya'll a little something about the Beast. First off, The Beast is not John White ok. John White is dead. The Ray Sprhere is the Beast. Remeber going to the end of the first infamous when John was talking about the Ray Sprhere when he was holding it? Saying "something was trying to break out of it?" He was talking about the Beast. Problem was, the Beast needed a host. So when u destroy the Ray Sprhere, the "soul" of the Beast came out & toke John's body & transformed it.

@Handymancinema uh, I believe you've forgotten that kessler had developed his powers NATURALLY, and wasn't given a sufficient amount of time to hone them, hence the beasts' untimely arrival. That's the solitary purpose of kessler going back time in the first place, to ensure that Cole (AKA Past kessler) obtains the ray sphere along with his powers sooner than his future self did. So, yeah, kessler really couldn't have killed the beast. Just a reminder in case you couldn't remember. :)

Sucker Punch wanted to improve the storytelling and presentation by putting in the 3d cutscenes where the actors acted on a mo cap stage like in uncharted 2 to get a great performance. To do that they had to change actors because jason cottle(coles old voice) was only a voice actor not a motion actor. The new actor (Eric Laden) had the phisical look, face, and voice that sucker punch wanted and in my opinion the voice is better than the first.
