sorry to say, but royal marines are classed as an elite service, no disrespect but USMC is just another marine core but fair to say still at the top, but elite is entirely different, and just to put in as an extra the British regular armys regiment the black watch has more battle honers than any other army,marine core,navy,air service in the world

@Evidentdoom As an objective opinion familiar with both, this is a really dumb debate. You're arguing that an entire branch of the US military is better than an elite Commando Brigade. Royal Marines Commandos have the longest Boot Camp in the world at 32 weeks, and an attrition rate in the 80% range. The British military is different. Their "Marines" only number a couple thousand in the 3 Commando Brigade. They're more on par with SOF units. Either way, this dick measuring contest is dumb.

I was referring to how you have all these rules and regs and the military is a lot more "friendly" nowadays than it was in my grandfather's time. He said they used to beat guys that talked back. One guy in his unit got drop kicked in the face because he called his DI an asshole. You wouldn't see that happen today, cameras or no.

The rules and regs they have today are a lot softer and it won't reverse to the times of your grandfather probably everrr. They feed off each other so better hope one of them isnt a hitter. In my opinion people still get fucked up behind doors

Royal Marines Commandos have the longest Boot Camp in the world at 32 weeks, and an attrition rate in the 80% range. The British military is different. Their "Marines" only number a couple thousand in the 3 Commando Brigade. They're more on par with SOF units. Either way, this dick measuring contest is dumb.

I was referring to how you have all these rules and regs and the military is a lot more "friendly" nowadays than it was in my grandfather's time. He said they used to beat guys that talked back. One guy in his unit got drop kicked in the face because he called his DI an asshole. You wouldn't see that happen today, cameras or no.

The rules and regs they have today are a lot softer and it won't reverse to the times of your grandfather probably everrr. At the same time, in 06 when i went to PI people were still getting knocked out, ive seen it. It also depends on your drill instructors too. They feed off each other so better hope one of them isnt a hitter. In my opinion people still get fucked up behind doors

Some DIs might get lucky and get people that don't really know, but all it takes is that one person ruin a decorated marine's career.
