I listened to Rush today. He said he plans to leave this country and immigrate to Paraguay or Uruguay. He suggested that all of hte conservatives move down there with him so that they could start a country with real conservative values. @pjmgame In the end of the day, socialized medicine leads to rationed health care and less choice - that's a big problem. The other issue is denying preexisting conditions, which morally sounds horrible. First, it's not as big of an issue as people think as most covered by group or family HC plans are not denied coverage for that reason. Secondly, insurance companies cannot simply allow people to wait until they get sick to buy insurance. No business would take that risk - it's common sense.
@mbukow01 ... try going into Allstate and asking them for car insurance AFTER you've had a wreck with your car... what do you think they'll tell you? it's the EXACT same thing in the HC industry. The insurance business hopes to profit by you making little to no claims against your policy. The healthier you are (or the "better driver you are") the less of a risk you are to the insurance company.

My girlfriends sister went to the hospital last week with symptoms indicating that she may have bacterial meningitis. She waited in the ER less than a half hour before being seen by nurses who administered blood tests. The doctor saw her about 1.5 hours into her admittance. By the end of the night, some 3 hours into her admittance, the blood tests came back that she indeed did not have bacterial meningitis...no matter the cost, our system is SUCCESSFUL, we need reform, not change.

The United States of America has the most expensive health care of all the G8 countries. As a ratio of population to those who are uninsured, America falls dead last once again. America has the worst health care system of all the G8 countries

In Canada, anyone with the means to do so jumps that border into America to have surgery; doctors who get their degrees in Canada come to America to practice medicine. In Europe, all of these socialist programs have basically bankrupted their countries. That's why the EU is implementing austerity measures to bail them out. It's why the Portuguese credit rating was just downgraded. Yeah, things are great over there!

If your injured and you don't have insurance you won't be able to get help. The obamacare only benefits the healthcare insurance companies. @pjmgame In the end of the day, socialized medicine leads to rationed health care and less choice - that's a big problem. The other issue is denying preexisting conditions, which morally sounds horrible. First, it's not as big of an issue as people think as most covered by group or family HC plans are not denied coverage for that reason. Secondly, insurance companies cannot simply allow people to wait until they get sick to buy insurance. No business would take that risk - it's common sense.

@mbukow01 ... try going into Allstate and asking them for car insurance AFTER you've had a wreck with your car... what do you think they'll tell you? it's the EXACT same thing in the HC industry. The insurance business hopes to profit by you making little to no claims against your policy. The healthier you are (or the "better driver you are") the less of a risk you are to the insurance company.

What I fear is that the current policymaking is taking on that direction, however. When government leaders champion the idea of the government running everything and suggesting that "rich people" make too much money and we have to tax them to the extreme to redistribute wealth... to me, that's a scary proposition in a nation which was founded on individual liberty

I am canadian and work in the USA.....and if you think the USA health care system is bad you are crazy.......everyone gets the aid they need .....It makes me sick that socialist countries actually believe they have good health care....I just got back from the Philippines (Socialized Medicine) and a friend of mine sister died from a heart ailment.....if she was an illegal immigrant in the USA she would have been treated....not there in the socialist state

My girlfriends sister went to the hospital last week with symptoms indicating that she may have bacterial meningitis. She waited in the ER less than a half hour before being seen by nurses who administered blood tests. The doctor saw her about 1.5 hours into her admittance. By the end of the night, some 3 hours into her admittance, the blood tests came back that she indeed did not have bacterial meningitis...no matter the cost, our system is SUCCESSFUL, we need reform, not change.

Nothing would hurt the U.S. economy and the nation itself more than an unconstitutional healthcare system. The DOW's recovery means nothing. Consumers are reinvesting $ that was already in the market; anyone who thinks this is a sign of recovery is economically illiterate, unemployment sucks... unlikely to improve, deficit is already 2.5x the size of all 8 years of Bush, and b/c of Obama's reckless spending the dollar is being opt'd out by all investors. I really hope for better...

That is not everyone's experience. In France you would receive top quality care for free--and without waits. America has great health care (if you can afford it) and so does France.

The market crashed because many years ago Democrats pushed for the Community Reinvestment Act which forced banks to lend to risky individuals.
