Most people who are sentenced to death in the US are also being sentenced unfairly, with many of them being convicted on very dubious evidence and due to a lack of proper legal defense(for example, the man convicted to death while his lawyer was asleep during his trial). In some states more people are exonerated after reviewing new evidence than there are being sentenced.

Absolute, 100% certainty of an individual's guilt is impossible, even with DNA testing. The undeniable probability of executing an innocent is enough for me to be against the death penalty.

This is totally wrong. Edison purposely called for Westinghouse's AC to be used in the electric chair, thereby scaring everyone into believing that AC current was more dangerous and deadly than his own direct current. Edison basically just wanted to create negative PR for AC electricity.
