  • Speaking of chestnuts have you ever tried steamed ones? I've only found them at Asian Markets and I think they are a healthy snack.

    You can make your own by buying a bag at a grocery store, put them in a steamer basket, and viola! A nice protein filled snack that you crack out of the shell ^_^

    We don't know to make apple-chestnut cake without eggs but inside our recipes we put less possible to keep the taste. Anyway try the "charlotte with pears", but take it easy some dry biscuits are made with eggs, "muffins" or "apple pie".

    I didn't know how much 1 packet of baking powder weighs, but I used about 4 grams (1tsp). I also couldn't find chestnut flour, so I did the almond flour exactly like you recommended.

  • That looks so good. Could I use almond flour if I can't find Chesnut flour?

  • Probably yes, and then you have to put 1/2 almond flour and 1/2 regular flour. And don't forget inside the "pyrex" to add with brush some dissolved butter before to put preparation of the cake. Then will be easier to take out in the end.
