  • I'm upset that I just heard about this fucking amazing band. I must've been living under a rock this whole time, I thought I loved PTV and BMTH, ugh I'm in love.

  • They remind of Thursday in some ways, I enjoyed La Dispute more than I enjoyed Thrice (not saying they werent good) when they played in Boston

  • HAHAHAHAH LEARN TO FALSECHORD, JUST WOW.

  • they are just wow... I can't find the words to describe them so I guess I'll have to settle with Wonderful

  • They are good. no amazing. Period.

  • <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

  • Out of food, out of water, and I'm STILL looking for mlerette's comment. :3

  • .☮♫(¯`♥HELL♥♫(♥♪(♥♫d)♥‿♥(b♫♥)♪♥)♫♥YA♥´¯)♫☮.

  • their new cd "WILDLIFE" is fucking AMAZING!

  • @Iggyownsyou that is it's function my friend, to be enjoyed and revered. Everything can be art, it just takes the right eye to see it as such. Theres beauty all around us, in every voice, every song, every color, every stitch, everything. Something as emotional and raw as this or something as cold and robotic as techno or house music. Also music has a very practical use, music is used to inspire us, it's something we can relate to, something..almost ephemeral, that's so much more then skin deep

  • still thundering onward!!

  • Makes me proud to be from Michigan! La Dispute, I See Stars, We Came As Romans, Chiodos & Craig Owens, Sleeping W/ Sirens (Originally from Florida, but still), Mike Posner & Big Sean! Yes, we're awesome. I can't speak for all of Michigan on this last one on whether to brag about Eminem or not. Ehh, jk.

  • @babigirlslove13 I love all of them. Except for Big Sean xD. I love living in Michigan too! high five. :D

  • Favourite La Dispute song.

  • every thing they write is amazing.

  • i feel like there should be a picture of a carrot cake on the screen while this song is playing because it makes me crave carrot cake something feirce.. and baha blast from taco bell with cinnamon powder in it just a little so it spikes it

  • I didn't know this existed. God bless Ryan for telling me.

  • Homo homini lupus, you are a wolf to me.. didn't think latin would be useful for anything, guess I was wrong?

  • The vocals are awful! What in the world!? The only thing this band has going for them is a drummer that can lay down some nice grooves.

  • @TotalProsky - I think the point of their vocals is all about delivery. It doesn't even sound like he's trying to sing, so one would image that isn't important to the songs or to the band for their singer to have a singing voice. Rather it is important for him to have a true VOICE, just a force, just raw.

  • @mobious10 - No offense, but ff that is the case, I don't see why this song is considered "good" since pretty much anyone can scream the words into the microphone if there is a beat behind it. I like the lyrics, because unlike many songs they're actually meaningful, but as @TotalProsky said, I think the vocals are awful.

  • @discipleofknowledge Maybe it's just an intangible thing, a passion thing. All I know is that I wouldn't want to have to "sing" like that night after night and try to make it sound right.

  • @TotalProsky "The vocals are awful!".....

Oh, I'm sorry he puts his emotions into his words. However, I'm more sorry for the fact that you're too arrogant to see what emotion shows itself as. You're not required to like it, but you better appreciate it.

  • This song made my acne go away and balls drop.

  • @NKWproductiontdp missed the like button I bet

  • thumbs up if you have the first verse of the song down as fast as Jordan ;D

  • this is just really entertaining hahaha xD

  • really? 1 person had to dislike it? wtf why?

  • @NKWproductiontdp Dickholio!

  • what album is this from?

  • @TheShredsledder Their Untitled 7" released in 08. You can find it on mediafire.

  • @thiscommentsux yes i think it is. i can't think of anything else its from.

  • Love.

  • "you are a wolf to me." <3

  • there is grace in the steeple collapsing

  • im going to assume that valinor is a lord of the rings reference

  • The one person who disliked this was so shocked and blown away by their amazingness they couldn't see straight and accidentally pressed the dislike button.

  • Finally meaningful lyrics -India

  • woah lol

  • There is grace in a steeple collapsing

  • this song has such a great rising sound, reminds me of norma jeans first album just with less screaming but the same building sound that comes to a beautiful final peak, amazing

  • @communistparrot

K cutie, I'll dumb it down. His language isn't flowery.

  • @mlerette Fall of Troy sucks.

Opinions are opinions. I think the lyrics are a masterpiece of poetry and emotion, backed with amazing guitar and bass that doesn't overdo it like most bands, and the drums keep time and drive the rest of the band perfectly.

  • These guys play one of the best shows you'll ever go to, no matter what kind of music you listen to.

  • @ lexisklok

WTF better than the Fall of Troy? Doppelgänger is a masterpiece. The riffs in this music aren't nearly as compelling nor are

they the product of similar talent.

Sure his lyrics are enticing with their florid 10th grade vocabulary but, it's forced. It's like spoken word over music. Novice spoken word.

  • @mlerette your use of the word "florid" felt forced. but it's okay, we've all tried to look smart in an argument before.

  • HOLY CRAP, THIS IS AMAZING!

  • does any1 know wtf this song is actually about? i know these guys have pretty ambiguous lyrics but this is just convoluted. great song btw.

  • this is the reincarnation of at the drive-in.

  • I can't find this song anywhere :C Its my absolute favorite. I always play there songs over and over and never get tired of them :D

  • La Dispute kind of reminds me of The Fall Of Troy, but better.

  • @lexisklok not better ;) but i feel ya

  • what album/ep is this from?! i must know!

  • @AICnSP4EVA It's from their untitled 7".

  • Nahhhhh I love this shit(:

  • I love jordan's face in the first picture

  • i can see/hear so much beauty in this song !

  • honestly, the music sounds okay, the singer makes me just think "wtf?"

i mean jeez, the lyrics can be the best in the world, but this sound super whiney and trying too hard.

  • @zarahbear02 It's an acquired taste. The more you listen, the more you'll love it. I hated his voice at first, but it's absolutely incredible.

  • this isnt music, this is art

  • and i love it

  • well it is music :P but i see what your saying (Y)

  • @dbarii music is art.

  • not 100% true, its like the saying "Beauty in things exists merely in the mind which contemplates them." in other words you might find all music to be art, but i dont. which is when the topic moves to posers and hypocrites and so forth. i guess what im trying to say is that in my personal opinion all music is not art.

  • @dbarii That isn't true however. By definition all music is art, and you can't deny that. Doesn't mean it's good art...

  • @dbarii I completely agree. I have open ears and am willing to listen to a broad range of music but I don't feel all the music I listen to is art. A lot of the music I like are just bands I feel are passionate and sincere about what they do and say that I want to sing along to at the top of my lungs (Set Your Goals). Then there are other bands I listen to and I feel like I'm reading literature(Thursday). I mean there's a big difference between American Beauty and Con Air. I still love both.

  • @dbarii I'm sorry but this isn't open to your subjective opinion because this isn't a matter of opinion or debate. By definition, all music is art.

Art is "the products of human creativity." Music is a product of creativity, and therefore art. Just because you think something sucks, doesn't mean it can't be art.

  • Iggyownsyou i dont think it sucks at all, i love la dispute. Im just simply stating that some bands play music just for shits and giggles. there is no soul or passion involved at all, and I'll agree that that is considered art because there is creativity there, i just dislike the music to a point where it could be subject to debate. honestly if everything was art then technically nothing would be art. if you think about it everything was created with creativity but not everything is art. opinion

  • and yes i believe that la dispute does display soul and passion in their music, the statment above was directed towards other bands that ive come across in my city, some local others semi-pro

  • @dbarii I never said everything was art. All music is art. Yes, there are bands that are absolute shit and put next to no effort into their music, and don't try to innovate at all. But they do put some creativity into their music, and it is therefore art. Just because you dislike something doesn't mean you can debate about whether it is, or isn't art.

  • @dbarii part 2 of my comment...

Another part of being art is it needs to be created for beauty and enjoyment over function. A house is not art because it is created for function. It is made for people to live in. A cathedral might be considered art, because large parts of it are there for beauty, and not function. Music has no practical use. It is created for beauty and enjoyment rather than function.

And I love La Dispute. Just sayin.

  • @Iggyownsyou Then what function does a painting have? Function in music is not physical, but more on an emotional sense. Does not mean it's not a function. Beauty that has been created by a person is art. Period.

  • @Iggyownsyou music also has a function, to realse to have fun create mood. art has a function to be artistic to make a statement or improve asthetics. A cathedral has a function to try mirror the beauty and awe of God, also to be a place of workship

  • @Iggyownsyou

If 500 characters isn't enough for you to be deep, just give up.

  • @Iggyownsyou a cathedral's function is for people to come together in prayer. get smart.

  • These guys kinda remind me of Chiodos in there old days. Theyll be big.

  • nice!

  • Does anyone know what this song is about? A lot of their songs are references to literature and stuff and this has "valinor" which is from tolkien

  • Its from an untitled EP album that will be available for download soon. haha i just realized this is you JP. or feeny?

  • Where is this from? it's not on vancouver or somewhere. is it from one of their EP's?

  • i just found this random song and i absolutely love it. not going to lie.

  • @emosk8er105

lol me too. its odd though.
