Paul McCartney wrote "Come and Get It" but Badfinger had the original. A cover version is a version of a song that has been released before.

I heard it a long time ago as a kid, but more recently, hitting the vaporizer (i threw that in so i can feel manly with how the song made me feel) well, saw the video with Garth, yeah. I never got the appeal of this song. I mean WTF it sounds like a billion others, very ordinary, like something you would hear in a commercial. Actually, aside from this guy, everything Garth Brooks has ever done sounds like ordinary shit except People in low places. Call me retarded, but when you are getting paid millions ordinary shit should NOT be a part of your set list whatsoever. You should be playing one mind blowing song after another like Hank Williams.

What a terrible conception of Belfast and the Irish... Everyone in Northern Ireland has heard of 'The Dance'. It's not only the 'Irish' that have cultuer here though, it isnt black and white... but this is a beautiful song, and even sang/sung by the writer... sometimes it feels even more special

I plan on covering this song. I heard it a long time ago as a kid, but more recently, hitting the vaporizer (i threw that in so i can feel manly with how the song made me feel) well, saw the video with Garth, yeah. Definitely had a couple of tears, but that's what true song writing is about, and every time I write a song, i make sure i pluck at emotion to make people feel a 'part' of the song as well as it was their limb. It's songs like these that remind me how songs should be written!

People try to say that Garth wrote all the songs he ever did. What a lot of people don't know is he worked on music row before he became a big star! He knew what he had to do. So, he found the best songs he could find, and bought the copyrights on the terms that he gets to, then, claim that he wrote it. Out of all his huge hits, he's written very little of them.

When this song was passed around Nashville Nobody wanted it... amazing!!!.. so much for corporate country.. Garth and his manager heard this guy singing it in a bar and ask who had the publishing on it. He said nobody wanted it..... the rest is history!!

This song makes me think of the love of my life, and that is and was Laura. You can see her if you like, and I have a 4pt series posted on here about us and our live together, and for all the pain I would not have traded or missed the dance with her for anything. I was was King even if for me it was just to short. Laura: Love of my life, others lost.
