@Sam111111 Got mine for $100 used. The issue: a broken Control Knob as it was a first generation Micron. Fixed it with 2 hours, de-soldering and soldering patience as well as a $1.68 metal Bourns Encoder form Newark. shipping was around $15, so, all in all: $117 fully restored ;)
@Sam111111 No regrets? You should have tried this: upgrading the OS, wiping out all presets, loading in the Akai Miniak presets, as they have a much better Drums/other parts balance in setup mode and better XYZ assignments.
@yashnu That would've been nice, but no, no regrets. not entirely the micron's fault. I haven't been playing keys lately [aside from my 88 key, which is obviously ... larger].
You guys won't believe this. Or maybe you will! haha I was In nashville recently and found this in a pawn shop for $160! I was insanely disappointed I had rent to take care of Instead.
HEY ORPHAN CITY!!<<,,i Guess i Got your blessing...i found to day for the same price in a pawnshop(alachua,fl)...i use to be a previous owner!,thanx to God i have Strawberry back again!!!,
has you tried sequencing on it? especially sequencing with audio from the inputs, aka not the micron sounds. my buddy is letting me borrow his this year, and i want to know if im going to be able to sequence like my own guitar parts and samples. please help?
Alright. I was pretty unimpressed by the Micron presets when I got it home, but your videos are convincing me that I need to get into deep into sound synthesis. If there's any books anyone'd recommend, let me know. I've got Martin Russ' "Sound Synthesis and Sampling" in front of me now. I'm about to dig in.
gtechture can u create a "bass bomb" on the micron? its a sound used in hardcore music such as "the devil wears prada", i geuss its called an "808" but u have to stretch the 808 out and make it agressive and like 2 octaves down, can u do that? if so, can u PLEASE put it in ur next video
ahh i know what youre talking about..im pretty possitive that you can because knowing very little about the micron i have made something pretty close sounding..a little fine tuning from some one who knew what they were doing and it would be right on..all i did was stretch one filter thing on the 808 but i cant remember which :/
how much is this model? thanks

no way, it doesn't sequence audio, it just sequences notes that only the micron and other midi equipment can understand

how do you create patches?
ggoerl 4 years ago
Start off by pushing the translucent scroll knob. You will then enter the edit mode and can scroll and edit the parameters.

oh, ha I thought you had made a program patch like through the computer I don't have one yet, but I will very soon within the next 2 weeks. Thanks

There are many cool shortcuts. They are in the beginning of the manual.

But does it do a good piano? Hehe.
Nice to see some people digging into these little beasties.
