  • hahahahah! Its snowing in the desert

  • It is the echo of Chuck Norris

  • That's KEWL!!!

  • Calfornia...............Calfornia!! Here we come

I loved walking up the sand dunes in Calfornia once i was going to california

  • @slackrates Dune reference ftw

  • If you walk without rhythm, it won't attract a worm. ;)

    Seriously, though, cool post!

  • Science complements what Faith created. Science explains how, Faith tells us why.

  • vibration wave sounds, frequencies, air spaces, movable floors....theorys

  • Damn those vuvuzelas are loud.

  • I can only imagine the amount of sand in their underwear.

  • thats creapy D:

  • BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY xD

  • wow

  • All of the sand grains are the same size? That's a revelation? Isn't that true of all windblown sand deposits? Sedimentologists speak of wind-blown sand deposits as being "well-sorted", meaning, the constituent particles are very close to the same size due to the winnowing effects of the wind. Effecive winds can only entrain sedimentary particles of a given size (or less) anyway. Sand itself is defined by specific size parameters. WTF CalTech? I'm non-plussed by this "research."

  • @bapyou thats a shame.. because you have a great grasp on vocabulary, are visiting somewhat of a science based post, and evidently have plenty to say.. and going out on a limb, judging a book by its cover.. id say you have a good head on your shoulders.. and most likely could make a name for yourself in any scientific field.. if you could lose the close mindedness. i understand making declarations based on black and white scientific rigor, but sarcasm? non-plussed?

  • Doesnt adequaetly explain how it sets up the reverb.

  • interesting.

    comforting sound..

  • The dunes are meditating ... ommmmmm.

  • lol

  • That dude in his short shorts lol, he must have so much sand in his ass crack

  • LMFAO

  • would that sound be known as the taos hum?

  • It's interestig to learn about energy of the sand dune . Can we transforme it in electric energy one day ? . Thank you for sharing .

    nutier

  • I don't get it...

What will they get if this mystery is solved?

How would this lead us to any significant future direction?

  • if they can figure out what causes sand dunes to make this noise, they may be able to control the movement of migrating dunes. migrating dunes have sometimes engulfed entire towns in sand.

  • What does that have to do with wanting to know whats going on?

  • Fascinating stuff! My introduction to booming sands. Thanks for sharing.

  • Something a little different from my usual.

My guess is that its the Gods

  • technically it is demi gods that cause it. a common misconception.

  • No, there is only one true god, our lord the FSM(sauce be upon him)! And it is he who makes the sounds.

  • @subach I take it you're 14. Shame your balls haven't dropped yet. Probably why you're attracted to a video with low notes. Speaking of low, better check your inslt book. It's lookin pretty dry.

  • @TheOriginalThought1 wow, you're just like that retard that comes into the conversation at the punchline of a joke and instead of understanding that you're missing most of information you need to respond, you decide to spout utter nonsense in some lame attempt to make yourself look intelligent. Sadly, in this case, you're three years late to the punchline and the entire setup is written in the comments so there's really no excuse... other than your stupidity.
