All of the sand grains are the same size? That's a revelation? Isn't that true of all windblown sand deposits? Sedimentologists speak of wind-blown sand deposits as being "well-sorted", meaning, the constituent particles are very close to the same size due to the winnowing effects of the wind. Effecive winds can only entrain sedimentary particles of a given size (or less) anyway. Sand itself is defined by specific size parameters. WTF CalTech? I'm non-plussed by this "research."
@bapyou thats a shame.. because you have a great grasp on vocabulary, are visiting somewhat of a science based post, and evidently have plenty to say.. and going out on a limb, judging a book by its cover.. id say you have a good head on your shoulders.. and most likely could make a name for yourself in any scientific field.. if you could lose the close mindedness. i understand making declarations based on black and white scientific rigor, but sarcasm? non-plussed?
if they can figure out what causes sand dunes to make this noise, they may be able to control the movement of migrating dunes. migrating dunes have sometimes engulfed entire towns in sand.
@subach I take it you're 14. Shame your balls haven't dropped yet. Probably why you're attracted to a video with low notes. Speaking of low, better check your inslt book. It's lookin pretty dry.
@TheOriginalThought1 wow, you're just like that retard that comes into the conversation at the punchline of a joke and instead of understanding that you're missing most of information you need to respond, you decide to spout utter nonsense in some lame attempt to make yourself look intelligent. Sadly, in this case, you're three years late to the punchline and the entire setup is written in the comments so there's really no excuse... other than your stupidity.

Science complements what Faith created. Science explains how, Faith tells us why.

What will they get if this mystery is solved?
How would this lead us to any significant future direction?

No, there is only one true god, our lord the FSM(sauce be upon him)! And it is he who makes the sounds.
