I bought this but it does not work is my machine bad? It actually cuts the design into the mat! Do I have to use their gum past sheets for it to work and I have tried it all!! Freezing it, all the pressure and speed combos no luck.. just makes a huge mess help!
@livelaughlove30 My cake is cut out of paper. I guess if it is not sticking you could probably put some frosting on the back. I don't know for sure. I would do a search on cake, gum paste. Then ask one of them. I hope it works out for you.
I think this should have won grand prize or at least 2nd place. I just saw the Cropping with the stars page and don't know how the judges could miss this one. I did like the oven though...it was cute. You did a great job and I know you put a lot of love and work into making this cake. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks I love it. I just finally put it away a few weeks ago. I think my husband was getting irritated with it sitting on the dining table. LOL, oh well for him.
Absolutely fantastic! Love the chocolate brown and blue color combination. You should feel very proud of yourself despite the rules of the contest changing. Great job!
I need your help you don't mind . I am making one of these and I am wondering what you did to cover up the seams because my paper dis not go all the way around and also how did you cover the rim of each lid. Thanks
Hey, I am really sorry I missed your post 1 month ago. I hope yours turned out. The flower covered up most of seams. The bottom one does have a seam in the back. I took my time with that and made sure they butted up together neatly. I also painted the area under the seams.
Absolutely stunning. I would charge no less then $50 on the most simplest design using patterned paper & then obviously go up in price with how detailed & for what occassion too. For what your showing in the video easily could go for $125 to $140. You seriously should start making these for sale at craft shows & Etsy or Artfire. Finish this one the way you would of liked & sell it. Where is this contest at the the cricut board or at Provo Crafts website? Wonderful work.
Sorry for the forever reply. Cricut had a contest that ended the beginning of January. It was called Cropping with the Stars. You can google the name and see the winners. THANKS
Love this. This is the perfect thing for my wedding.

This is beautiful. How did you make the actual round layers and how did you get the flowers to flow like that.
craftymama2007 2 years ago
I used paper mache round hat boxes. The flowers, I start with larger ones on the bottom and just flowers as I like to the top.

I love this! How did you make the actual "cake" layers?
