I have no intention of demeaning your advice, but I think it would be better to face them straight on, right? It would show your confidence and that you aren't afraid of a little challenge. I'd think it would be a real show of confidence if you try to ask a girl even though she's standing in her group of girls. It takes guts, but it shows you aren't scared of rejection.

I know it's completely none of my business, but I think it's better to get used talking to guys face-to-face to gain the confidence to talk to your next crush yourself. A wingman/wingwoman just mixes up the game, something guys don't really like. If you have a next victim, go for him!

i'm not sure how high school is in the US, but that mentality where guys think it's creepy to talk to/be talked to by a girl usually changes after high school, when there usually aren't any immature guys/women around to deal with. So unfortunately, there will always be guys who make up those "weird... she talked to me" explanations for not being attracted to women at this age. It's just their immaturity. lol, hopefully you're not like this...?
